    There is absolutely no reason to wait. BA shows we have 6 starting pitchers in our top 10 prospects and you can add Mejia and Thorpe. Trader Rob at the deadline showed it's all about winning now when he traded for 4 pitchers, all at AAA or above. It's time to open up the farm system and trade for established pitching.

    Santana, Dozier, Kepler, Polanco, and Buxton should be untouchable. Vargas, Park, Palka, or A.B. Walker III in some mix, can do a reasonable job of filling the Brooks Sano hole. Time to win.

    Plan B, trade Gonsalves and one of our IFA starting pitchers for an established starting pitcher. Plan A, include Brooks Sano with Plan B and get 2 established starting pitchers. Note, this will most likely need to be a 3 team deal. We can't get to where we need to be next season by just trading board scapegoats. Time to open up the farm system.

    I wasn't real clear about it, but I was including the 4 he already has. 15 starts is roughly half a season. Gibson had 8 in 2013, and May had 8 in 2014. Another member and I discussed the need to let young pitchers work thru their troubles. I would give Berrios the ball every 5 days come hell or high water for the rest of the season. He should be ready for center stage day one of 2017.

    I agree. These are the only 3 additional players our favorite team needs ready by day one of 2017. Any additional are pie in the sky, although I'm hoping we get a 4th in a deadline trade.

    I had that same thought. Berrios needs X number of starts to be ready for the start of 2017, he doesn't need X+2 or X+3. No doubt TR, Antony, and our new GM would look at it the same way. The most important thing is to keep winning.

    The only member of the team who doesn't pass the eyeball test is Brooks Sano, and I don't like the way Suzuki handles the run game. We can contend with these defenders in 2017, depending on how the Brooks Sano situation shakes out. This is off topic, but next time you're at the ballpark, try striking up a conversation with the fan next to you on pitch framing.

    Duffey. The big picture is we need Berrios to go into ST penciled into the #4 slot. This is one of the few we really can't afford to miss on. It doesn't matter how they do it as long as they do. Plenty of time to end up with 15 starts in The Show.

    At this point in time, the only player I am concerned about at all is Brooks Sano. Flushing board favorites Pinto and Arcia at least showed our hearts are in the right place.

    You can't compare a college pitcher, who was taken 3rd in the draft, to Berrios. I do agree at some point they do have to take their lumps, but not their first time in The Show. I believe it was Molly who said he was badly shaken and needed to regroup. At the time, he was the 5th youngest player in the majors.

    After 4 starts he was beaten up and had lost his confidence. I believe priority #1 is getting Berrios to Target Field. Whether it happens today, tommorrow, or the next day is immaterial, it will happen. In a late response, to one of you're earlier posts, Jim Pohlad has no idea who Berrios or Chargois are.

    TR didn't do Mauer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you were one of the ones screaming the loudest for free agents in 2013. In August of 2013, I coined the phrase, the parade starts in 2015. I missed by 3 games. I predicted 90-72 this season. In 2010 or 2011, BA had an extensive article, by their standards, on the process of rebuilding small/mid-market teams. They said it would take a minimum of 5 years. 2017 is year 6. If we don't contend next year, I'll join The Dark Side.

    Anyone with 7000+ posts should know some of those contracts are not movable. My concern is those who will help us win in the near future, many of whom are board scapegoats. I would prefer not hearing next year at this time, our favorite team has lost 90 games 6 of the last 7 years.

    You do realize they were teenagers when TR took over, right? When the new Angel GM took over he inherited Trout and Pujols. When the new Tiger GM took over he inherited Miggy and Verlander. The new Seattle GM inherited Cano. Who got the short end of the stick?

    Seth, my first thought was here comes a salary dump. In the short term by the trade deadline, followed by additional moves in the off-season to minimize payroll. Do you think I'm overreacting?

    Our troubles have nothing to do with catching. I'm guessing we add Berrios and another youngish starting pitcher to the rotation in 2017. I much prefer them throwing to Suzuki, than Murphy or Garver. Ramos is a pipe dream, and I wouldn't overpay an injury prone catcher.
