    My first Twin season in memory was '65, as a goofy little kid. In the time it's taken to become a goofy old man, I've suffered through some truly horrendous seasons (dare I say decades?). This stretch reminds me of some of the bad old days. I don't think its going to last all season, but the hole is getting deep to climb to the playoffs this year. You know how when a team gets on a roll, and every day a different hero steps up-- same goes for this stretch. A different dude chooses to suck at the most inopportune moment day after freakin' day.... Rrrrrrrrrr......

    Heh.... wake up on a lazy Saturday monring, check in to the game. Wow! Twins lead! Wow! LoMo a hitting star! 8-3, make a quick jaunt to the store. Heh... sez I to meself- wouldn't it be funny if I came back and it was 9-8? Argh.

    Ahhh, it's Seth again. Many thanks for these stories from the Minors. It's good to hear about the guys who are toiling in the vineyards. A lot of these coaches will never make it back to the Show in that capacity, but man, it's great to see guys passing on their knowledge and their love of the game. How about Ray Smith and Jeff Reed- decades now in E-town, churning out the prospects. Good on them!

    Whew, back from class-- 8-1 now. So, a typical Yanks/Twins game. Nothing new for the past few decades or so. An earlier poster noted that Odor-Easy can pee down his leg just like a long-time Twin. Yup, that's about right. We get to the Bronx, and look like an over-awed high school team. Ah, well...

    Heh.... I was at the game at Shea the first time he came to NY since the woebegone SI article came out. Those fans were out for blood, and it was packed in the stands overlooking the bullpen area. They had cops lining the whole section, and wouldn't let anyone near the fence along the BP. Rocker came out between innings at one point to warm up the left fielder, and I never heard such a cascade of Bronx cheers (albeit in Queens). After the warmup throws, he casually tossed the ball into the stands as a souvenir, and the guy who caught it fired it right back at him. He earned a ton of cheers, and a helpful escort out of the park by the boys in blue.
