  1. Moider 'dem Yanks! Go Twins!
  2. Who's that other Pensacola infielder in the top photo? Mandrake the Magnificent?
  3. I'm not sure which one to apply for. I'd kind of like SF, but unless I get a really good salary, I couldn't afford to live in the city. San Diego would be good, too- even if your team is crappy, you can go surfing after and fuggetaboutit. I like steak, and BBQ, so KC might be OK, but it's in Missouri, so there's that. But I'd really, really want that Cubs job, tho, cuz I really loved living in Chicago, and maybe my old apartment down the block from Wrigley would be available again. That would be cool.
  4. Wow, this Skoglund- Lanky, or what? I think he must have majored in Gangling in college. He's like the old cliche- turns sideways and sticks out his tongue, he looks like a zipper.
  5. Heh... plus the ignominy of being blown out of the playoffs by the White Sox!
  6. Zounds! Just read where Daniel Palka single-handedly smoked the Indians! Hit 2 dongs, and raised his average above the Palka line! Good job, old pal! I only checked a few brief highlights, but yikes, the body language among the Cleveland team- looking really dispirited, and going through the motions.
  7. Well, took a break from watching hearings in the middle of the night, and fell asleep with the game on. Just long enough to hear Jack Morris say, "Well, they've got the B team out there today..." True, and I'll look forward to catching up with some replay. But pity the Tigers- they had a B team out there, too, but the B team is also their A team. Wonder if they'll keep Gardy around. Hope so.
  8. At last. The number is Junior. Great job, Twins, one and all. Great job, TD'ers, we've suffered through a lot- it's time for Chicken and Beer.

  10. Switched over to catch the White Sox game. OMG, Steve Stone made me nearly do a spit take-- "The Old Man and the C..." LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! (You kinda had to be there...)
  11. AWESOME! However, the trip in from O'Hare would probably take twice as long as the flight...
  12. Whew- Just back from class to see a win in the books, and a White Sox lead! My new 2nd favorite team! (until we play them again). Come on, Sox!
  13. Great to see that late-inning thunder from an unexpected source-- Methinks we may need more than 2, however.
  14. I finally got it. Rocco is actually a Repo Man. "...Repo man spends his life trying to get into tense situations."

  16. Omg, MlbTV just flashed Gibby's face in the "pitching" circle as that inning ended. Please, don't be true..........
  17. My God- wtf, Rocco? Cleveland is not surrendering, so we've got to win our magic number of games. Now is not the time for the Great Nibbler Experiment. I'm in Gibby's corner as far as the fortitude he's shown in the face of serious health issues, but I can support him just fine if he's not on the mound, giving up baserunners galore to a Mendoza-hitting team. Yep, struck out the side last time, but what did he give up in between? Got out of the 8th, but with a runner in scoring position, and once again facing the tying run in the batter's box. SMDH.
  18. Especially if they trot Gibby out there again. Omg, I had palpitations. Went to a short meeting, and came back to see Mr. Nibs on the bump, facing the tying run.
  19. It's Wednesday morning here. But I'll refrain from posting spoilers.
  20. I concur, Dr. Although, I had to suppress a middle-school chuckle comparing him to a loogy... (Which seems apt at this point).
  21. You also gotta love Jim Snyder #2, with those ironic hipster spectacles. Oh, wait....
  22. Eddie is a fabulous player, been one of my favorite Twins for years now, and I love the spark and the moxie he brings to the table. But-------- The brain cramps show up throughout the season, and have throughout his tenure with the club. However, when they show up in bunches in the middle of a September pennant race- a race we Twins fans, and the Twins players themselves have not been a part of in a looooooong time- that needs to be dealt with. All the injuries we have now, it's impossible to bench him. He's also showing signs of heating up again, after a long dry spell. But if I'm the Mgr, I'll keep your bat in the lineup alright, but by God, I'm gonna hold that 7 spot open for ya until you figure a couple things out. 2-3 or even 4 games in the 7 hole should be a strong enough message. There ain't no guarantee of playoffs yet. One look at the Rays and As in the standings could give you shivers if Cleveland manages to catch us. And there ain't no guarantee about another playoff chase 'next year.' Ask the world champion Red Sox about that. Every damn game, every damn atbat counts. Get on it, Eddie.
