  1. I too have seen every Twins manager in action and Baldelli isn't even in the ballpark of being the best Twins manager. I still rate him in the lower half of Twins managers.
  2. Everyone is assuming that Kepler will continue to play if the Twins let him walk. I believe Kepler will be a 10 year guy after this season and I'm kind of thinking he will maybe walk away from MLB if the Twins don't resign him. I see Max as a guy that plays ball to prove he can do it and I think baseball to him is a job, not a love. Max is a young guy with other fish to fry.
  3. He belongs in the dog house as there have now been a couple of situations where he has not told his management about health issues. He is more interested in playing for himself than his team. That said, it is always the darkest before the dawn. Don't count hm out just yet.
  4. What the heck? I didn't anyone that anyone else besides me used the term "bippy". I am going to keep an eye on you Ashbury. Have a good day.
  5. There are players all over MLB that failed with their first team and succeeded with a second, third or fourth team. That is baseball, there is just not enough spots to keep everyone. Plus, this helps keeps teams competitive and gives playes big league jobs.
  6. Good article Nick, in my humble opinion it is one ofthe best pieces you have ever written. The Twins really screwed this one up and the sad part is that they don't seem to care. I watch most every Twins game on TV but I too have Xfinity, primarily to watch the Twins and now I am left out in the cold so to speak. I miss watching the Twins like many other Twins fans but I have to say, it get easier every day. If this goes on much longer Twins fans will get used to not seeing the Twins on TV.
  7. I'm thinking it is time for the FO to shuffle on outta here.
  8. Bummer for Bieber. Hell'uva pitcher.
  9. I give you plaudits for trying something like this but maintining it without a lot of spam and BS is going to be a chore. Good luck!
  10. I enjoyed the Spring Breakout game also. Festa and Soto were fun to watch as were a number of the position players. The day was very hot and humid and I think that is why many of the people in attendance left after the regular exhibition game. I believe the announced attendance was 7,240 for game one and by the time the SB game began I would be surprised if there were 2,000 people still there. As the second game moved along the crowd thinned considerably. The Twins/MLB gave away 1,000 packs of the top MLB prospects to the first arriving folks at the ballpark, I was not one of them. I think Nick did a nice job describing the action.
  11. Best bullpen? Best bullpen? Did you really say best bullpen Ted? Oh my!
  12. And if you look at some of those April game tickets you will see that is true.
  13. I like Walker Jenkins too but don't see him as the Twins top asset. Like you said, he has 26 games of experience under his belt, way to early to crown him king at this point.
  14. The 1970 Twins were one of the four best Twins teams. People under estimate them because they were swept by the Orioles in the playoffs for the second year in a row.
  15. Just want the Twins need, another coach.
  16. Calvin was called cheap but what most people fail to mention is how generous he was to many players and employees.
  17. I would say 130+ games played in the outfield, doesn't even have to be in center field. An easy goal to achieve for most players.
  18. Calling Mauer a "punch and Judy" hitter is really stretching the facts.
  19. At first blush I would ask - why trade for a pitcher from a team that is looking for pitching too?
  20. You are not exactly comparing apples to apples here, all first round picks are not the same. A high first round pick like Buxton is expected to have a string of AS appearances in my book and I would expect is that he can play in at least 140 each season. Buxton has done neither and he will be 30 in a week. History indicates we shouldn't expect more than he has already shown us.
  21. When Buxton shows up and proves he can play center field than he moves into the core status player. Until then, he remains a number one pick that didn't pan out.
