  1. Get serious here, put out some real names here, look outside the organization. Start with Don Mattingly.
  2. Sorry, I don't buy the fact that a single loss changed the whole situation in Minnesota. The trades were brought by ownership and the Twins decision to sign Carlos Correa, not to mention bad decision making by the FO, bad managing by Rocco and bad play by the players. This is a total systemic failure if there ever was one. We will see after the season ends if ownership is going to clean house and hopefully resolve the issue or if they will let it ride and hope they get a buyer and just put the Twins behind them.
  3. Pablo made it very clear he wanted to come and prove that he was healthy going in to the off-season. Injuries happen.
  4. You hit the nail on the head. You win free Twins tickets for the rest of 2025.
  5. I know that, but I still thought it deserved a comment.
  6. Bad idea I think, what do fans know about drafting. Many of us think we could do better at drafting but I doubt it. If you want proof, look at your fantasy baseball and football drafts from over the year with tons on data at your disposal. Did you draft the best team? Odds are you did not.
  7. With the constant line-up changes, versatiliy is critical to the Twins. Just because you can play a certain position and get by doesn't mean you should. The current Twins regime should be should be let go after the last pitch of 2025 is thrown.
  8. The man can hit but on the bases and in the field he is very suspect.
  9. Maybe some of these players didn't measure up to your big league standards but you still have to give them credit for reaching the big leagues, something that many of us Twins fans would gave their left %^& to have done.
  10. It makes no sense to trade Lopez or Ryan. The Twins have good starting pitching and that will make them competitive in 2026. They also have some good position players and more good players ready or almost ready to become Twins. Why would you trade very good pitchers for potentially good pitchers or players at this point, that is dumb. Even the Pohlald's know they need to keep money coming in and the only way to do that is to field a competitive team. A competitive team that makes the playoffs has a shot in winning it all, that is all you can ask to it have a chance. The team with the best record doesn't always win the World Series. Look at 65, 87, and 91.
  11. Nick, nice recap of what Twitter/X Twins fans have been saying for a long time.
  12. These potential minority owners like the "Marty Davis" and "Wilfs" are in it for the long haul, not a quick buck and these guys will get first dibs when the Pohlad's again decide to sell as early as next year according to rumors.
  13. Dan, I know you are on the inside and get the good scoop from your sources. The thing I don't understand is how these two "minor investors" would put their money into an organization that is cutting payroll like this. Why would they want to do so? Something here does not make sense. Investors like this are not stupid, they don't just throw away money. There is more here than meets the eye.
  14. It is like eating an elephant, you do it one bite at a time. Keep in mind that it takes awhile to "build" a reliever if you are starting from scratch. Guys like Varland don't come around that often.
  15. I think the team needs to be sold ASAP. The Falvey regime along with most of the field staff need to go to get a clean fresh start. To be fair to players like Miranda and Julien you have to go to them and ask them if they want to be traded for what ever you can get or of they want to start fresh under the new ownership. I don't know how you tell the players to forget some of the things that the Falvey regime preached.
  16. Hans, this is one of the better articles I have seen here in some time, good job. I agree what you say about Correa and Twins hitters should take the "see ball, hit ball" approach since that is what likely got them to pro ball in the first place. Sure, MLB pitchers are smarter and better but I think the Twins computerized hitting style under this regime killed their productivity. Twins coaches should let the hitters hit and the pitchers pitch and when they ask for help, then step in and give them some tips to try versus forcing hitters and pitchers to pitch in a certain style. Keep up the good writing.
  17. Duran has been a good closer but he walks too many. He fastball isn't what it used to be. You knew he would bring good value back and the Twins had Jax and Varland as possible closers. I didn't plan on them trading both Jax and Duran. But then Jax requested a trade probably because he didn't want to play for a team that gave up and a manager that is not qualified to be one. Varland is a local kid that is just learning how to be a relief pitcher and he is very good at that. He wants to pitch every day. I see a future closing role for him. ERA's for relief pitchers mean nothing as a bad game or two kills their ERA for the season. If I had to rank these pitchers in the order I see them piching that last inning to win a World Series I would go with Jax, then Varland and finally Duran. Hope that explains my thinking.
  18. Baseball has been a business for a long time. That said, some players regardless if they are natives or not should not be traded unless they request a trade. To me Varland and Ryan are those kinds of players. I have no issue with all the other trades now that I know that Jax asked to be traded. This FO led by Falvey is not the kind of FO that I like to see running a ballclub.
  19. The Twins have not failed Buxton, he failed the Twins and their fans. Sure, he has been their best position player in 2025, But look at all the other years, the man has played in less than 53% of the games over the years. Ability is great but you also need durability and Buxton has never had that. Yet, the Twins rewarded him with a large contract. No, I don't feel bad for Buxton, a player who has an average WAR of 2.9 annually and gotten his WAR above 3.9 just twice in 11 seasons. Kirby Puckett is a good comp with Buxton and Kirby played in 93% of the games and I am not even going to compare WAR numbers. I would say that Buxton is a lucky man and certainly not someone to feel sorry for because the team or ownership has let him down. The man has a no-trade clause and all he had to say is "trade me" and I think the Twins would have jumped at the chance.
  20. I perceived him as the second coming of Chuck Knoblauch but so far he has not shown me those skills. That said, I am not ready to give up on hime yet.
  21. I enjoy a little satire now and then, but it seems like Twins Daily has way too many satire articles for my liking. Just my opinion and others may disagree and that's fine. I come to read about Twins baseball on this site not to see writers try to be funny and make up silly BS. Thanks and have a great day.
  22. The point is that even blind squirrels find an acorn now and then and Clemens has proven over the years he is not good enough to merit being a starter. France is not a star but is good enough to start albeit probably not on a playoff caliber team.
  23. Any trade by the Twins that includes Joe Ryan is a stupid trade for Minnesota. These kinds of pitchers do not grow on trees. I see him as the only untouchable Twins player at this point.
