  1. Need 2 games a week from Buxton in CF and 2 games a week from Gallo in CF and 2 from Taylor. you can still do the defensive substitutions late in games to get Taylor in CF.
  2. With all the off-season to many outfielders need to trade one!! it took till April 14 to see an outfield of Taylor Garlick and Willie Castro!!! Now Taylor has been great this far! Castro has been good and Garlick has always been able to mash lefties and if he only played against them he is great!
  3. I like the strategy of using Durán late in games against the tough part of the order. If that’s the 7th 8th or 9th I don’t care. Then using López or Jax as the traditional 9th inning guy to end the game. If we do t have a 5 run lead or more I’m not comfortable seeing Pagán!!
  4. His pitch mix sounds a lot like a few other very solid Twins relievers who were failed starters. Jax and Duffey. To me he seems much more like a RH Glen Perkins. If that fastball can tick up in the bullpen and he can rely that big sweeper and split he can be very valuable out of the pen.
  5. Wait you left out Austin Martin who stole 35 bases at AA last yr and another 10 in the AFL. You also left Michael Helman off who stole 40 last yr at AAA.
  6. Hoffman makes it as the long man who will likely be up and down multiple times this season. the position player part is more difficult. If Polanco and Kirilloff are out more then the first week or 10 days OR I’d Miranda still can’t play 3B then Castro makes the team. If they just need a guy to fill in and add insurance and may not even play it could be White or Garlick.
  7. The biggest impact and potential on the lineup starts here. If Miranda has to move to 1B his value plummets. The difference between finding a 3B bat and finding a 1B bat is huge. It also allows Kirilloff to play everyday at 1B. If this Twins team is going to be any good they are going to need Kirilloff healthy and productive and Miranda to play as well offensively as he did in 22.
  8. Wow really!? 5 legit mlb prospect a few with some nice mov inning already on the starting staff and a lineup with Larnach, and Martin Harris and Tyler white. Michael Helmen put up good AAA numbers last yr as well. I have a feeling the Saints early on will be very good and exciting team to watch.
  9. With Lux going out for the season would the Dodgers have interest and what would they be willing to give up for Farmer or Gordon. If you could capitalize on selling Gordon as a SS with the production he had a year ago and the years on control left could he bring in a solid prospect or 2? View full rumor

  11. Hinge sight is always 20/20 on these guys. If you draft 1 or 2 tool plays and one or both of those tools isn’t elite you don’t have a guy who ever makes it. He put up elite college # with the bat and he is a big strong guy it just hasn’t translated. hoping something clicks this season and he becomes valued in 2023.
  12. Well because other teams see the ascending in Gordon as well. Cheap and multiple years of team control is tradable to many small market and rebuilding teams. If the Twins see Gordon as just a 4th outfielder you have a bunch of LH hitting COF and a replacement CF already on the roster. Good business to sell on him now and bring in a solid reliever. I am totally puzzled by the deal and brainstorming how it makes sense.
  13. For this to be a major league deal there must be a major injury announcement coming to Polanco or Kirilloff or Nick Gordon. Or Nick Gordon is being traded. With the last 2 additions (Taylor in CF and Solano) Gordon playing time has been replaced. Maybe Gordon has some value around the league and is being shopped.
  14. This tells me Kirilloff is hurt and not ready for the season or that Nick Gordon is either being traded or not seen as a viable infield option at any spot in the infield.
  15. I believe Gallo is going to have a giant season. The no shift pull happy Gallo helps his average tremendously ad he can just focus on hitting the ball hard. Which will help him between the ears. boy I hope Jorge Lopez isn’t that bad. Gave up a lot for him that’s worst the the Matt Capp trade yr ago
  16. No Nick Gordon at 3B!!! If Miranda goes down bring up Julian to play everyday. Otherwise Farmer can take all the reps at 3B if Miranda needs a day off.
  17. I am on the give him a position and let him get comfortable bandwagon. LF or 1B is probably it. If I was the Twins Larnach would be on the trade block and Julian would be n Lf full time at St. Paul.
  18. Not sure it’s allowed or not but can you sign a guy to a minor league deal and in the case of making the big league roster you make a large few million dollar deal? would let the twins keep the 40 man spot until guys can be put in 60 day IL and if he is healthy can make a significant impact in the bullpen.
  19. Always love the prospect write ups!! as far as this honorable mentioned list goes I’m surprised Michael Helman didn’t get a chance last season when all the injuries happened. I think his speed and super utility will give him a big league opportunity. Chris Williams has a nice bat if he was a decent catcher but playing only a few game behind the plate and less and less each season likely means he isn’t even seen as a big league option. Hope Isola doesn’t go down the same route.
  20. Wait wait wait. I understand not comparing a major league batting champ to AA player but saying Julian hasn’t hit much is ridiculous!!! He hit .300 with a .440 OBP in over 500 PA and in the AFL were close to MLB players and top prospects hit .400 with a .550 OBP!!! Those are pretty amazing numbers even if you think they don’t directly translate the kid can hit.
  21. You have to buy lotto tickets to win! By all accounts he has ace stuff and I like the fact that he has already had TJ surgery and has rehabbed at a big university and now the MLB clock starts. I hope the twins and keep him healthy going forward and can have a good productive year in the minors. At 22 and if healthy he can be a fast mover through the system. Will be my favorite follow in the minors this year.
  22. I haven’t seen enough of Julien to see if the walks and plate discipline will transfer to MLB. I am excited to see him first hand in St. Paul and hopefully get a better judgement going forward. I think most are right though that Kiriloff is a better comparison for a Arraez replacement. I hope the fact that they moved him is a signed that Kiriloff is finally healthy and ready to product.
  23. I understand why they moved Arraez, I really liked him but I understand it. Not a huge Pablo López fan and would have liked Dax Fulton instead as a prospect. Salas is an intriguing prospect as well as the Chourio kid has some tools.
  24. The 2 catchers doesn’t matter because as soon as the season starts Lewis and Paddock go on the 60 day DL and we have 2 open 40 man spots. Tony Walters is a very solid 3rd catcher on a minor league deal!
  25. If there is interest in Celestino and Larnach as trade pieces with significant more value then Kepler I would be ok moving them. Celestino got the raw deal on development. Needs time in AAA or everyday ABs. with the addition of Correa I’d guess Lewis becomes the CF, LF future option once he recovers. Also the organizations thought on Martin. If he is a suitable CF option. Celestino seems to be getting passed by high level prospects very quickly. Get value for him now if there are suitors. Larnach is another lefty bat that is very solid but has trouble with health and really doesn’t play good defense. He would be ok to move to get a significant pitching piece.
