  1. I keep reading about what Kirilloff is good at and not good at. What he needs to become good at is staying on the field.
  2. And if he plays well and earns it it's totally reasonable that it does happen early in the 2024 season.
  3. Not arguing anything about Sano. Merely stating a fact. As far as Lee being ready or not, none of us gets to make that decision. As far as Farmer or Castro being on the roster because of their versatility, Lee can probably be considered able to play any position in the infield. And for that matter, at the start of last season, Castro had only 90 more games in the outfield than Lee has. If he's the best player, their versatility shouldn't work against him. He'd probably be as good defensively at 2B right now as Julien who could slide to first. Somebody's got to DH too.
  4. Sure. Drafting guys like Larnach, Covaco & Sabato and having them not pan out is a totally realistic expectation. Just because it's realistic doesn't make it acceptable. What I'm saying is that if Lee is better than guys like Castro & Farmer he should be on the roster. I'm not even saying that he is. I'm saying that IF he is one of the 26 best guys in camp he needs to come north. Not unrealistic at all. There is a reason why the Twins haven't had a guy finish higher than 6th in the Rookie of the Year voting since 2015. And it's not because we've been too busy winning the World Series. And just for fun, that guy who finished 3rd in 2015 has more home runs in the Cactus League than any Twin does in the Grapefruit League.
  5. He was also 21 when he was drafted and had 3 years of college ball under his belt. And sure, nobody is close to needing to be fired. UNLESS we're having this discussion 2 years from now and he's another Larnach. Did I mention Sabato? Should I even mention picking Covaco three picks before Corbin Carroll? At the end of the day if he's not coming north with the team and he's better than guys who are, that might need to be re-evaluated.
  6. If he's not, and soon, somebody should be getting fired.
  7. Actually it really is a question as to whether Lee is a better option than Castro and Farmer. That's why the discussion persists.
  8. The POINT is that Lee may well be ready to play everyday at the big league level as soon as early April. And to be honest, the sooner the better. And hopefully Walker Jenkins ends up no more than a year behind him.
  9. Pretty sure he'd somehow manage to carve out 400 plus at bats.
  10. If Lee is being kept on the farm due in any part to the presence of Castro & Farmer than they are all part of the same discussion. If you REALLY believe the team is better served by having one or both of them on it you certainly have the right to have the opinion. I don't. And furthermore, I look forward to, at some future time mocking you for ever having had that opinion.
  11. Talented guys tend to get to the big leagues sooner not because of their ages but because of their talent. This guy is a little older because he played college ball. So was Larnach. Hope to hell he's not another Larnach.
  12. Sure. Guys like Castro & Farmer are adequate. Adequate gets you an early October tee time. We don't need adequate. This guy might be special. Not in St. Paul.
  13. I see many assuming that he would not be an upgrade over guys currently projected to be on the roster. However, it IS possible that he just might be better. And even MUCH better. That's why you have to consider taking a chance. I spend every off season listening to Twins fans whine because we never go out and spend big on free agents. This guy has a chance to be something we've rarely seen around here from day one. We have a chance to have a 1-2 punch of Lewis & Lee that few other teams can match. Yes, guys like Castro and Farmer are "adequate." They are NOT going to be superstars. This guy might be. But not in St. Paul.
  14. Ok. In the last 60 years. To be honest, how many undrafted US born players even make it to the bigs?
  15. I still want to know: Has any un-drafted college grad advanced to the big leagues quicker than Dobnak?
  16. A year ago I viewed Castro as another Kyle Garlick / Robbie Grossman type. A guy that you look at after the season and realize that if you go into the following season counting on him you're probably in for another disappointment. He proved me wrong. Maybe Goodrum will do the same.
  17. Be thankful you're not an Orioles fan. Your team just had it's best season in 30 years and got SPANKED in the playoffs. And their payroll is projected to be $30 million LESS than the Twins.
  18. And it was almost like the Twins spent wisely and DID make the playoffs..
  19. Pony up. Buy the team. W'ed LOVE to see it done right.
  20. Right. YOU are the one who knows. ********.
  21. Not gonna be wild about paying any amount for a something I've not paid for for years.
  22. I'm fairly certain that the folks that comment on here know the numbers with 100% certainty. Probably better than the Twins own accountants and finance guys and way better than MLB's guys as well. Those guys don't know nothing. I always come to the experts on here for financial advice.
  23. I remember when we signed Solano thinking "what the hell are they thinking?" In fact I still thought that 6 weeks into the season when he had 5 RBI. I was proven wrong. And as for having enough utility players, You can never have enough GOOD players.
