  1. Actually Butcher was traded to the Indians for Neal Heaton. I only remember this because it happened on my wedding day. Heaton was traded 8 months later along with Al Cardwood, Yorkis Perez & Jeff Reed for Reardon & Tom Nieto.
  2. The only analytic I need is to remember that he's a rookie who has made TWO starts in the bigs.
  3. He may not quack like an ace today but one thing we should always remember: Things change fast.
  4. Good teams are historically strong up the middle. All-Star SS & 2B. Rejuvenated CF. C who performed at or near an All-Star level for the first two months of the season. Only seems to be one missing puzzle piece.......
  5. 69 games remaining in the season could change a lot of things.
  6. Fire Gardy. Oh, wait. Never mind. Why does Frank Quilici still have a job? Billy Ball.
  7. You didn't really just post an article listing potential trade prospects and have the first name you listed be Dylan Floro did you?
  8. Litmus test. Are you prepared to give him the ball in Game 3 of the playoffs?
  9. good luck with that working out. Bottom line is, as well as Woods-Richardson has pitched he's done so through our jaded lens and he has ZERO shot at ROY. Deal with it.
  10. I agree that Wood-Richardson has been a godsend but can we STOP with the ROY steam? Not gonna happen. Would be extremely unlikely to finish top 10 much less top 5 or higher. Lanford, Cowser, Miller Horwitz, among others all going to finish ahead of him and by the end of the year he might even be looking up at Brooks Lee. I know we want to support OUR guy but let's not do it at the expense of looking ridiculous doing so. Feel free to copy / paste this comment and shove it back at me if I'm wrong. I won't be.
  11. Would love to see some data on just that: The likelihood of a guy pitching the same after an injury as before.
  12. I may be in the minority here but when a guy has 10 straight hits I don't pinch hit for him. Seems like he might be hot. Just sayin
  13. Don't see them writing this one about Kirilloff or Larnach
  14. None of Larnach/Wallner/Kiersey and I'll even throw in Kirilloff & Margot do anything to inspire me to believe they are capable of creating that little something special that will likely need to come from somewhere to get to the playoffs and succeed after getting there. Kepler does. The mere fact that you are looking at contenders possibly trading for him tells you that. The most likely outcome of trading him is creating a need to replace him. I hate to beat a dead horse but I will anyway. Nice to finally be getting a return on the Berrios deal a few years back but what we ignore about that deal is that in the two ensuing seasons we ended up trading assets for Tyler Mahle, Sonny Gray and Pablo Lopez all in an attempt to fill the hole in the rotation created when we moved Berrios.
  15. You might want to check the sportsbooks. Wood-Richardson isn't in the top 10. Put some money down if you think he should be.
  16. Don't kid yourself into believing the Twins have no blame in this. And to be honest I don't give a **** about Cleveland or Atlanta.
  17. Twins trade their broadcast rights to somewhere where we can freaking watch them play.....
  18. Bad pick? Yes. Worst in this draft? Yes. Worst in the history of baseball? Do a deeper dive going back 50 plus years and get back to me. I'll wait.
