  1. so maybe we should trade our SS & C or a SP?
  2. Would just point out that it might be fair to expect regression from at least one of the three young guys at 2B / 3B / LF
  3. Complain about the Jaime Garcia deal(s) all you want but the fun fact is that he won more games for the Twins than he did for the Yankees that year.
  4. Everyone gets hung up on the opening day 25 but at the end of the day there are usually at least another dozen who end up making contributions so I would be surprised if more than 2 or three of these guys DON'T contribute with a handful probably doing so in a major way.
  5. Wait. They HAVE a philosophy?
  6. Seems unlikely that anyone, Mets, or Dodgers or anyone else goes undefeated. Chance are every team loses at least 50 plus games. Not even a guarantee that the Dodgers win in the post-season.
  7. could do the same thing all over again. Or he could fall off a cliff. Guess that's why they play the games.
  8. It's almost like they think they know more than we do...
  9. And if they DO trade these guys for prospects, the same folks bitching about them not doing so will bitch about them "giving up on the 2024 season."
  10. It's less about getting a guy much better than our current projected 2 and 3 and more about getting more guys who can be 2 and 3 and 4 and hoping that one of them approaches number one. Nobody saw Gray or Lopez more than number twos but having both of them gave us more chances of one of them blossoming.
  11. Probably. Would he take it? Probably not.
  12. Pretty sure you're right. Harris went to Montreal in the Garciaparra trade. The Twins got a pitcher names Justin Jones. Don't think he ever got any higher than AA.
  13. Look at the strike box on TV which will very much closely approximate what robot umps will call. Then pick up a rule book and look at where the actual strike zone is. Not even close. End of story.
  14. Usually the injuries occur after the Twins acquire the player.
  15. robo umps will not accomplish what folks think they will
  16. I suppose we could throw in Babe Ruth and Harmon Killebrew as well.
  17. And yet, Kiriloff only played 88 games last year. I'm not sure he'd play a hundred and thirty games if Ghandi and the Mayo brothers were the team trainers.
  18. Part of the issue is how much do we want to count on a guy like Kiriloff who can't stay healthy.
  19. just because a player can demand anything doesn't me he will get what he demands
  20. So he's committed to not spending money he doesn't have. And soon he won't have a Range Rover. Sounds like the system is working as designed.
  21. Soo.... A team other than the Twins might be looking at some cost control measures in light of certain uncertanties for the upcoming season. I had no idea.
