  1. Not a single one of the 10 catchers who played over a hundred games had an OPS of .800 Three of the ten who played between 87 and 99 did and one of them was over .900
  2. You are correct that the debate may have been about the fatigue of doing it thru 162 games. 162 games which are meaningless without said Playoffs.
  3. So you named 5 and only had to go back 14 years. Only left about a hundred and fifty (or more) guys out.
  4. Luckily there has never been anything "publicly reported" that has ever been anything other than 100% spot on truthful. The reason teams seldom choose to play catchers more than 100 games is because any advantage, such as the one you say Jeffers gives them, tends to diminish as they reach and / or pass that 100 game mark.
  5. Pretty sure Vasquez was signed to split time with Jeffers at C. Few teams want a C to play more than a hundred games and fewer still have a C who should do so. Jeffers falls in that category.
  6. Gehrig, Hornsby, Schjmidt, Wagner.
  7. "First base is essentially the only position for the Twins that is not comfortably set:" Meanwhile, Sano eats Twinkies in the Dominican.
  8. Cut him and put pursuit of strikeout records in jeopardy? PREPOSTEROUS.
  9. Seems like more of a move that you make after handing him a 1B glove in November and telling him he'll be a 1B in March, figure it out. Worth remembering that the last guy who got moved from 2B to 1B cuz he could hit but not play defense got traded not long thereafter. P.S. 180 MILB innings is NOT a lot.
  10. Every single guy on the first list has "contributed" more than the guys on the second list. That's the whole point.
  11. The best thing about this team is also the one that likely prompted said deadline inactivity. HOPE on the farm. Just look at the list of guys who have contributed this year that were NOT on the opening day roster: Julien, Larnach, Wallner, Ober, Varland, Stewart, Balazovic, Headrick, DeLeon, Ortega, Kuechel. Then think about guys getting turned to in years past: Riddle, Shoemaker, Ildemaro Vargas, Littell, LaMarre, Mejia, Bobby Wilson, Matt Belisle, Chris Giminez, Nik Turley. HOPE.
  12. Still want to know if there has ever been an un drafted college grad make it to the big leagues quicker than Dobnak?
  13. MAYBE 2024 is the year SWR brings a return on the Berrios deal. OR maybe we move ANOTHER asset to replace Berrios again....
  14. And Waller's BA isn't measured with the same gun used to measure Jordan's Addison's speed........
  15. Larnach is the obvious choice -- as soon as MLB bans pitches that aren't straight.
  16. Minnesota Twins and their fans and those who write about them should be far more concerned with the dysfunction of their own nine.
  17. you know I'm right
