  1. All two could be back, Lee could be here for the first time (cue uo that song by Foreigner). Meanwhile, glad to see Jarrett Whorff is pitching tonight for Wichita (Cue up the theme from Star Trek: The Next Generation for the Twins only Klingon player ever).
  2. Here is where I jump ship. I like the controversy. Balls and strikes calls give us something to argue about. I don’t want the game sterilized too much.
  3. Bailey Ober would disagree. He was exasperated over the lousy balls and strikes calls tonight.
  4. Is there anyone other than me who thought the home plate umpire, on the close pitches, clearly favored the Yankee pitchers over the Twins pitchers tonight? it wasn’t just one or two pitches.
  5. In the Roster Moves thread, it’s been reported that Eddy Julien has been sent to St Paul. Royce Lewis will likely be called back next. I suspect Brooks Lee will be here before August. Meanwhile, Miranda will play more 1B and DH and Kirilloff will spend more time in the outfield. The newest bubble members are Margot and Santana.
  6. One catcher not mentioned is Alejandro Kirk. Who has seen his offensive stats plummet over the past two seasons. It’s nice to have a catcher (or any player) on the rise.
  7. Should they stay or should they go! When Buxton and Lewis return: Should Go - Margot and Santana Will Go: Martin and Miranda Miranda backs up 1B, 3B and DH. Martin backs up at CF and SS and can pinch-run I know it’s too early for the two vets Margot and Santana, but they are not as versatile Tell me why I’m wrong (yes, I liked last week’s barrage of home runs from Carlos Santana - I get it!).
  8. If he is so family-oriented, then he needs to find out the number of degrees between him and former Twin Mark Salas.
  9. Michael A Taylor is batting .296 (but has zero HRs and zero RBIs). Christian Vasquez continues to be a disappointment. .
  10. Nice anrticle. López and Ryan are certainly two of the bright spots in this disappointing season (so far). One measure of that disappointment is that Ryan’s achieved career high of 12 strike-outs against Detroit last weekend. Twelve strike-outs??? That seems like an average day at the beach for this Twins line-up!!!!
  11. Byron needs to atone for his sin of promoting Wisconsin Sausages. What’s wrong with Hormel and Schweiggert?
  12. If Dobber does get called back, he better not get released at Target Field. There want be any Uber job to fall back on in Minneapolis.
  13. If the Dobber makes it back to MLB, he’s a Mr. Everyman type we all cheer for, like Caleb Thielbar making it back after dropping down to the independent leagues or Jay Jackson making his first opening day roster at age 36. These stories are much more fun than reading about Bobby Witt Jr. getting gazillions over the next 11 years.
  14. Vasquez came up big today. In other words: Chris(tian) Slapped that Rock thrown by Will Smith without making any comments about a sequel to “G.I. Jane.” And count me in the “impressed” group on his throw nabbing Witt Jr.
  15. Add Josh Staumont as the latest injured Twin to leave the Incredible Shrinking Bullpen.
  16. Thielbar and Duran are down already. Now, mlb.com’s Twins page is reporting that Justin Topa is going to start the season on the IL with left knee tendonitis. The bullpen bad news keeps piling on.
  17. Who is our depth? You ask! Randy Dobnak 2.0. Josh Winder is still around. SWR will be at AAA. David Festa is probably ready after a few months at AAA. None of that may wow you, but there is some depth.
  18. Didn’t Comedian Rob Schneider talk about this Doc a lot back in his days as the Copy Machine Guy on SNL?
  19. Did I miss AK on your list? If I didn’t, where will he be?
  20. That’s the idea - Doug Mientkiewicz, someone with an edge. No more Mr Nice Guys. A.J. already has a gig. But the Twins know who had an edge in the locker room during the last 20 years. That’s the type of guy I want in the booth. Hey, Josh Donaldson just retired - it wouldn’t be boring to put the Bringer of Rain into the booth. Maybe Sergio Romo could put a little of the fire he had while playing into the booth.
  21. Kirby was my favorite Twins player of all-time, and I’ve watched them since 1961 (at age of 6). There were other greats (most notably for me Killebrew, Oliva, and Carew) but none are the most important cog in the machinery that brought two World Series Championships to Minnesota. Continue to RIP - Kirby Puckett!!!
  22. I want Denard Span’s mom to join the TV crew with him for one game, and rip her son for the foul ball that hit her in the stands. Could be a fun bit!!
  23. The Twins actually played a game of Quiddich and were embarrassed by Valdemort. The OP misspelled the name of the Dark Lord.
