    This is a sport dominated by 28-32 year olds. Long-term contracts to aging players are often NOT the answer. Look at Josh Donaldson and Carlos Correa. I know that Jeffers is still young, but (especially after this draft) catching is a position of strength for this organization. Trade Jeffers to build quality at other positions (especially pitching and right-handed outfield and first baseman bats).

    Kade Anderson is currently ranked #5 in MLB’s Top 100. But Seattle has another pitcher ranked #8, a right-handed named Ryan Sloan. His numbers are not as flashy as the lefty Kade Anderson. It’s not as desirable, but it’s another option to consider. AND we wouldn’t be losing a Ryan, just trading one for another. Then again, a trade of RYAN Jeffers is going to reduce the number of RYANs already.

    The Twins need to rebalance the roster. They have an oversupply of catchers, position which is in demand. They have an overabundance of left-handed hitting outfielders. Trade to reduce that surplus (Jeffers and Larnach most likely), and then enhance the pitching side.

    The Twins minor league system needs more pitching. That’s why the Twins recently drafted so many. For that reason, Dasan Hill and Kendry Rojas should be on the untouchable list (unless they are being traded for pitching).

    With the way this team has played over the last month or so, I’m willing to cut some slack to Josh Bell today. He has been a big contributor. One question: did the Ramon Borrego send him home???

    Harmon was the color guy on the Twins Broadcasts during the time when Ron Washington was our bat-first utility infielder. Harmon would pronounce his last name with an R in the first syllable (WaRshington). Now, Dan Gladden adds an N to the second syllable of Caratini (CaraNtini). So, keeping Caratini on the team keeps the Killebrew legacy of player mispronunciations alive.

    Continue to develop Tait, his value will rise and he is insurance in case Lackey doesn’t pan out. Lackey will likely be one or two levels under Tait through 2027.

    Harmon’s legacy of mispronouncing a name as a TV analyst lives on. He would put the R in Ron WaRshington. Now, Dan Gladden adds the N to Victor CaraNtini.

    If the Twins can’t extend Ryan before the deadline, he should be traded.

    We can only wish to have the same genetics as Kaat and Oliva, except for Tony-O’s knees. You can add Twins 1970 Cy Young winner Jim Perry (over 90) to that list.

    Then they have adopted the term from non-Minnesotans. It’s polluting our discourse like “soda” did. “Minnie” is not a thing here. Keep Minnesota Minnie-less. Relegate this term to ignominy (or Ig-No-Minnie) it must be the All-Star break if this is what I’m thinking about.

    Above, someone has already logically suggested a three team trade - Jeffers to the overpaying contender desperate for a catcher, prospects to team 3 (the Angels, Rockies, Giants …) and a top reliever and good pitching prospect to the Twins. I don’t like trading for relievers (remember Matt Capps) but it’s a necessity now. Be a buyer and a seller to rebalance the roster for the playoff run.

    Bring back the old “fat guys shaking hands across the river”, before they were given the dumb names. The name Minnie is the worst, especially when opposing teams refer to Minnesota as “Minnie” (“Next we are headed to play a series in Minnie”). Nobody up here uses that term!!! Some in this State have given in to using “Soda” as the slang term for soft drink (it’s supposed to be called POP up here - for you transplants). DITCH MINNIE!!

    Jackson is on the roster now because the Twins are probably trading one of their three catchers before the trade deadline. The remaining two catchers are the catchers for the remainder of the season and hopefully the playoffs.

    Trade Jeffers. Caratini is a better bridge to Lackey and/or Tait (maybe Diaw). Catcher is a position of huge organizational strength. Draft some pitchers now.

    The Twins minor league pitchers are getting pounded lately. Look at all the double digit run totals for the opposing teams in recent days. They need to concentrate on boosting quality pitching depth in the draft and at the deadline!!!

    C’Mon. Don’t we get a report on the wrestling matches after the game? I can only find a list of the matches (no results or commentary). That list included more than the third-tier Minnesota natives in action (Top Flight and Julia Hart did indeed have matches - and they could be generously viewed as 2nd tier). The card had a few borderline top tier stars, Orange Cassidy and The Hurt Business (formerly The Hurt Syndicate in the WWE). Otherwise, there was some 2nd and 3rd tier talent mixed in. I like the idea of having a few matches after the game once a season. Minnesota has a big history of supporting professional wrestling, even if most of you fuddie-duddies can’t figure out its appeal.

    For those going to the game, stick around for the AEW Wrestling. AEW is better than WWE, even though you are unlikely to get a view of the most entertaining heel of this millennium — MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman). AEW is likely to feature stars from here (the tag team Top Flight and Julia Hart).

    Of course, the Twins accept an overpayment for Ryan But FIRST concentrate on moving one of our three catchers. I’d like to see Jeffers signed longterm with Caratini traded to a contender desperate for a catcher (but keeping Caratini and trading Jeffers should be explored as well). The Twins have too many left-handed hitting outfielders. Try to trade some of that glut for one or two major league arms and more minor league pitching prospects. Use the deadline to start to rebalance the roster and the minor league system.

    The split-screen during the game got annoying. Show the game. We don’t have to see the “analysts”. Many times, the yapping lingered long after an important play. “By the way, a minute ago blankety-blank happened…”. I like this better during Spring Training games. The banter about the good old days and interaction with fans works better when the game on the screen matters less. The Tom Pohlad bits last night actually worked somewhat. I would have liked the group asking him whether the Twins will be buyers or sellers at the deadline. for a change, I didn’t mind it. But let’s have no more than 4 games a season of this.

    Twins need to trade Jeffers or make a qualifying offer. If they do the latter, they need to trade Caratini, and could be left with neither as a starting catcher if Jeffers doesn’t accept the offer. I like trading Jeffers as the best choice. I could be wrong.

    You have the general idea. Sell some of out strengths and acquire at positions where we are weak.
