    Trading Top 30 prospects is a bad idea, unless it is to trade for other equally (or better) talented prospects. They can trade a position of strength (catchers and left-handed corner outfielders for pitchers, for example).

    Like others here, I’m not only surprised Taj Bradley’s name wasn’t on the list, but I’m voting for him as the next all-star.

    It’s smart to move on from the idea of a 9th inning closer. Have 3 or 4 high leverage arms to use in the last three innings. Be flexible in deciding when to use them based on the type of hitters to be faced. Sometimes it’s smart to use the best reliever against the 3-5 batters in the 8th rather than wait for that top pitcher to face the bottom of the order in the 9th, for example. and maybe wait to see how those top pitchers perform (and their health status) in Spring Training before designating one as the top reliever in the team. Flexibility!

    But consider that the season could very well start late anyways. In other words, until the labor issues are resolved, ALL players are OUT. The Twins should find a way to keep Banda, since much of the time he loses to injury prior to midseason is likely lost due (along with all other players) to MLB labor/CBA issues.

    It clearly can’t have the last syllable kwez. That’s like the old Procol Harm song where the singer mispronounces the second syllable of Conqistador as Kwihs. I was more worried about which syllable gets the accent.

    Clemons had a good 2025, so the bar was higher to become the most improved in 2026. Brooks Lee is a better choice.

    Groucho’s TV show was “You Bet Your Life”. It was a game show with Groucho as the wise cracking host. However, Harpo and Chico did play a little baseball at the end of “Night at the Opera”.

    It took Luke Keaschall to get all the way to MLB till I knew how to pronounce his name. Can someone here get me a head start on Bohorquez? In particular, which syllable gets the accent.

    After this week, the Vikings are still not getting enough love in the various power rankings. And Vikings fans who stayed glued to Fox got to see that double-boneheaded end to the NYG-Wash game.

    What happens afterwards means plenty. Trading involves intuition. Sometimes a team gets as much as they can before a player is about to go downhill. The Twins in the case of Jorge Polanco did that. Good for the Twins.

    In May, I took a trip to see a game and watch our prospects in Cedar Rapids. Tait was at the top of list of players I was excited to observe. Lo and behold, we get to see Khadim Diaw (3rd round in 2024 draft) put on a show behind the plate and at the plate. Yes, it would be great to see Tait address his strikeout rate and improve his game more in 2027. But the Twins are loaded with catching prospects who can become a future star (not just a future Alex Jackson or Mickey Gaspar).

    The Twins system is loaded with future catching prospects:: Lackey, Tait, Diaw, Tinney. This would be the wrong time to sign any veteran to a long term contract. Go with Caratini, Jackson or maybe a veteran on a one year deal (maybe Jeffers takes the QO) !

    Slow-ball pitchers are not usually very successful. I don’t believe Ober is the second-coming of Jamie Moyer or even Bruce Chen (skiw-ballers whom we saw in our division). Let Bailey go. Maybe he doesn’t get a decent offer elsewhere and then the Twins can explore whether Ober is a good possibility in the bullpen and a start in a pinch.

    Royce Lewis has showed flashes of star-quality play. When he is hot, his attitude is infectious by and can carry the team. Royce’s trade value is low. He still could be that much needed right-handed power bat in the line-up. He currently plays at 1B and 2B, which are positions of need for the Twins. It’s obvious, bring him to Spring Training to compete for a job in a final “prove-it” season.

    The Twins were more competitive and more entertaining than I expected. I believe they would have been contending longer with Pablo Lopez and Anthony Banda healthy all year.

    I’m in agreement. Now rate the moves the Twins did NOT make (Jeffers, Ryan, Larnach). That won’t look as good.

    That is the position the Twins are in. Plan on a work stoppage marred season in 2027 while one among Lackey, Tait, Diaw … gets prepared for a late 2027 debut. The Twins should have their eye on 2028 and beyond, not the mess that will likely be the 2027 MLB Season. Not trading Jeffers and others at this year’s deadline was a mistake.

    This is going to be unpopular, but I’d rather see the Twins use internal options. Jenkins/Buxton/Rodriguez/Keaschall for the outfield and DH options. Then there should be a further competition in Spring Training between Martin, Wallner, Sabato, Gonzalez, Larnach, Roden and anyone else that isn’t traded. Royce Lewis also has to “prove it” in Spring Training. Maybe the Twins could sign a placeholder at 2B. Kody Clemons should man 2B until Marek Houston (if he does) arrives (expecting Houston at SS and Culpepper moving to 2B). Caratini and a cheap backup should cover catcher until Lackey and/or Diaw and/or Tait arrive.

    Vegas already has the Athletics. Maybe, Nashville, New Orleans, maybe even Louisville (which has a long history of supporting minor league baseball).

    I was one of the very few in attendance. At one point, with a Cleveland runner on 3B, Emma Rodriguez had the task of throwing out that runner (after tagging up). Rodriguez was probably not going to throw him out anyways - but is anyone out there that thought his throw was a bit weak? He is supposed to have a “plus arm”. I know, it’s just one throw. But …

    I have an ongoing problem with the Twins having names on the roster which are difficult to pronoune (or pronounced “wrong”). After trading for Dean Kremer, I initially thought his name would be pronounced like an additive to coffee. But NO - he wants to be a character on Seinfeld or Mad Money. I had no idea how to pronounce Keaschall when Luke was a prospect. Bohorquez seems to be easier than those two, but presents an accenting dilemma - first syllable or second. It’s easier for the fans if the Twins go with Riley Quick - that is, unless his fastball gets below 92 mph (then that’s a “nonconforming name” problem).

    These admissions were not contemporaneous with the allegations. I remember “a friend” at the Dome repeatedly shouting “Steroids” at Canseco in the on-deck circle. Jose would respond by angrily looking up in the stands and scanning side to side like he was looking for the heckling accuser. He was not admitting anything at that time, only after retirement.
