  1. Oh no. I am losing it. I don’t remember of those older Jhonny players.
  2. I thought it was a recent phenomenon. Thanks for letting me I wasn’t completely losing it.
  3. Just curious: Can anyone here name a player prior to Jhonny Peralta who had his name spelled (misspelled) like that? I know some of you might say it’s a longtime Hispanic tradition. But it isn’t. Back in the day, Spanish for Johnny would have been.Juanito not this misspelled form of Johnny. I should have asked this before Pereda left. I’m feeling like a Jhonny Come Lately.
  4. Ultimately his career will be a question of whether it is among the QUICK or the DEAD.
  5. Yes - that promotion would not be RAPIDL; it would be QUICKly.
  6. Good luck in your recovery - you are The Terminator not those heart issues.
  7. I’m thinking Willi won’t make the Top. 5 but he added much higher value (he was an All-Star as a Twin) than his market value before signing.
  8. HBD Buck. Glad you are joining us for another season.
  9. A female reporter, who I believe still covers the team, made a disturbing accusation against Sano near the end of his tenure. I doubt Twins management wants to have that issue return as well.
  10. It’s been decades since “Disco” Dan Ford and Pitcher Anthony DeSclafani during his mostly injured Twins tenure was called “Disco”. But, in honor of the late 70s group DeBarge, this prospect is hereby dubbed Kyle “Disco” DeBarge,
  11. It was the TV Show: To Tell the Truth. Yes. maybe find Ober a role in the bullpen.
  12. Ted Williams was a great player. I’m sure appointing him as a manager was thought to be a great marketing ploy. But he was a lousy manager and killed the second Senators franchise. How many multi-year all-star players in the last ten years became great managers? no no no - Sorry Torii.
  13. This is temporary. It is not a strategy. Just a few years ago, the twins hired a Hispanic coach partly because of the high numbers of Hispanic players on the MLB roster. Look for more Hispanic and Asian players joining the Twins roster in the future. One prediction, however: The Twins will not have another German born player (like Max Kepler) on the roster in the next 10 years.
  14. Lack of coaching experience does not enhance a resume for a potential MLB manager.
  15. The Twins don’t need a recognizable name. I’d rather have someone toiling successfully at AA or AAA who has had success with another organization. That type of option isn’t as fun to discuss here. But it’s the right direction.
  16. At the deadline, this team was Neuter-rotamied! It MARKed a frustrating and APOCRYPHAl day in Twins history.
  17. Yes, GENESIS should take an EXODUS from the 40 man roster. His NUMBERS don’t justify that he can do the JOB nor that Pete Maki could have any positive REVELATION as he CHRONICLES Cabrera’s performance with the Twins in 2025. I just don’t see this lefty as one of the KINGS of next year’s bullpen. GENESIS hasn’t shown the ability to pitch at a level that would be consistently good against the Aaron JUDGES of the league. He isn’t even Better than EZRA playing a post-game concert. This is just one of many LAMENTATIONS I have regarding this team. I’m worried the new manager will be relegated just to motivate a decimated roster with inspirational PROVERBS.
  18. The question isn’t who starts the season in the outfield, it’s who finishes the season in the outfield. I’m pretty sure two out of three of them will be different.
  19. But Dougie’s interviews would be much more interesting than the Rocco bore-a-thons. Even better, bring back AJ.
  20. Some of you can do better than me: THE Fired Guys: Bob Melvin, Don Mattingly, Skip Schumacher, Brandon Hyde (Bruce Bochy?). Looking at the great first 2/3rds of 2024 and the later collapse - as well as the 13 game winning streak in 2025 surrounded by poorer playing on either side, it may be appropriate for the Twins manager to be Mr. Hyde (to go with a Jekyll alter-ego). Maybe the Twins go after a former Twin who has been a manager and bench coach (albeit for the always underperforming Marlins and Rockies), Mike Redmond. Could they bring back “naked man”.??? Doug Mientkiewicz is only 51, has minor league managing experience and has been managing MLB and USA Baseball’s prospect development league since 2022. He had a falling out with the Twins but was a candidate for manager back when Paul Molitor was hired. I suspect Dougie B would have a different approach from Rocco. It would be entertaining watching him tango with the Pohlads and the FO.
  21. Provus is at the top. Then it’s a precipitous drop. The accolades for John Gordon are surprising. Most of you have no idea how much he was ripped when he first got here.
  22. SWR pitched a gem today. Lee and Lewis had homers. Yeah, I watched the Vikings first. But there are moments in baseball that make it great to watch even lesser MLB teams.
