    Ted Williams was a great player. I’m sure appointing him as a manager was thought to be a great marketing ploy. But he was a lousy manager and killed the second Senators franchise. How many multi-year all-star players in the last ten years became great managers? no no no - Sorry Torii.

    This is temporary. It is not a strategy. Just a few years ago, the twins hired a Hispanic coach partly because of the high numbers of Hispanic players on the MLB roster. Look for more Hispanic and Asian players joining the Twins roster in the future. One prediction, however: The Twins will not have another German born player (like Max Kepler) on the roster in the next 10 years.

    The Twins don’t need a recognizable name. I’d rather have someone toiling successfully at AA or AAA who has had success with another organization. That type of option isn’t as fun to discuss here. But it’s the right direction.

    Yes, GENESIS should take an EXODUS from the 40 man roster. His NUMBERS don’t justify that he can do the JOB nor that Pete Maki could have any positive REVELATION as he CHRONICLES Cabrera’s performance with the Twins in 2025. I just don’t see this lefty as one of the KINGS of next year’s bullpen. GENESIS hasn’t shown the ability to pitch at a level that would be consistently good against the Aaron JUDGES of the league. He isn’t even Better than EZRA playing a post-game concert. This is just one of many LAMENTATIONS I have regarding this team. I’m worried the new manager will be relegated just to motivate a decimated roster with inspirational PROVERBS.

    The question isn’t who starts the season in the outfield, it’s who finishes the season in the outfield. I’m pretty sure two out of three of them will be different.

    Some of you can do better than me: THE Fired Guys: Bob Melvin, Don Mattingly, Skip Schumacher, Brandon Hyde (Bruce Bochy?). Looking at the great first 2/3rds of 2024 and the later collapse - as well as the 13 game winning streak in 2025 surrounded by poorer playing on either side, it may be appropriate for the Twins manager to be Mr. Hyde (to go with a Jekyll alter-ego). Maybe the Twins go after a former Twin who has been a manager and bench coach (albeit for the always underperforming Marlins and Rockies), Mike Redmond. Could they bring back “naked man”.??? Doug Mientkiewicz is only 51, has minor league managing experience and has been managing MLB and USA Baseball’s prospect development league since 2022. He had a falling out with the Twins but was a candidate for manager back when Paul Molitor was hired. I suspect Dougie B would have a different approach from Rocco. It would be entertaining watching him tango with the Pohlads and the FO.

    Provus is at the top. Then it’s a precipitous drop. The accolades for John Gordon are surprising. Most of you have no idea how much he was ripped when he first got here.

    SWR pitched a gem today. Lee and Lewis had homers. Yeah, I watched the Vikings first. But there are moments in baseball that make it great to watch even lesser MLB teams.

    After all that has happened to this team in the last 2 months, I was shocked to see that many at Target Field. And most stayed to watch the walk-off win. Yes, Jhoan Duran would have shut down the D-Backs in the top of the ninth. but that wouldn’t have been as much fun.

    What about the team we are currently playing, the LA Angels? Your analysis on that pathetic franchise is unconvincing. They couldn’t even win when they had both Trout and Ohtani. Now they only have a gimpy Trout. They have a worse ballpark than our squad. You say they are in a major market. But they are second-rate in their own big metro area. They are even less relevant the Clippers and Chargers.

    Ober looks better today. Has anyone considered moving him to the pen. Maybe he could get his velocity up and stay a little healthier.

    And demand has plummeted for that United Health Care Sensory Suite. Fewer children are now overwhelmed by the crowds and crowd noise at Target Field / indeed the entire ballpark has become a Sensory Suite for all children and adults.

    It is so disappointing that we have reached a point where we are trying to justify dumping our top two starting pitchers. It needs to be discussed because the owners are NOW unwilling to spend enough to put a quality product on the field. I emphasized the word NOW, because I believe the Pohlads spent reasonably over the past few years, even if some of the spending (Donaldson and to a lesser extent Correa) didn’t pan out.

    You all have this wrong. MLB has several second-generation players with great talent, Vlad Jr,, Witt Jr. …. The Twins will follow this trend with their team of “Juniors”. I have only a few examples here (feel free to add some more) - 1B - Stahoviak Jr. 2B - Nishioka Jr - Catcher - Dave Engel Jr (even though his dad had trouble throwing back to the mound) - Outfield - Bombo Jr., Powell Jr, Delmon Young Jr. - Pinch Runner La Tortuga Jr. Pitching Staff Ace, Terry Felton Jr - Closer, Ron Davis Jr. Get to know them. But the new slogan will be “Hope Talent Skips a Generation”

    100 years ago the Washington Senators made it to the World Series and lost. 101 years ago, they won it all. The Twins have flown their flags above the right field stands and dedicated a very small case of memorabilia to this team’s history in DC. The time has long past to have a concourse wall dedicated to the greatest stars from the Washington Senators. Furthermore, the Twins should induct at least their five greatest stars into the team’s Hall of Fame. They had a perfect opportunity this year when the Nats visited Tf.
