  1. Didn’t know the problem wasn’t in same or both feet. Thanks.
  2. I’m not saying I’m asking. I think there should be a conversation on this.
  3. C4 is missing the All-Star game with a sore foot. He had reduced production last year because of pain in his feet. Can anyone here make us feel better about this NOT being a chronic problem with the Twins FOOTING the bill?
  4. It’s an overpay. The Twins finally look like they are developing top pitchers in their minor league system. Don’t blow it up. The new M&M Boys,Matthews and Morris, should be close to untouchable (unless another team wants to overpay for them!).
  5. We won’t get much for our rent-a-player. Better to keep him for the stretch run. Max deserves loyalty which will pay off (with this and other similar decisions) in making the Target Field a more attractive place to play for free agents in the future. it helps when players go voluntarily to other teams and talk up how they liked playing for the Twins.
  6. I still think the situation around tge RV contract keeps the Twins from going after these big buck starters.
  7. Unless one of our starters is out for the season, adding a #4 or #5 (or #6) guy to the rotation does nothing for this rotation.
  8. Don’t forget Fundy. The Twins have left-handed options. Agreed - Not perfect.
  9. The Twins will not open their wallet to sign a quality starter. The only cheap one who could help played in Mexico this year and is controversial (especially here at TD). . With Stewart and Topa returning and Varland, Festa, even Dobber in the minors, the Twins are going to be deciding who needs to be left OFF any playoff roster. They have no need to trade for another reliever to add to that question. Nothing can or should be done before the deadline.
  10. I edited my response to include Willi Castro on a list of great utility guys, but he is up there with Escobar and Tovar.
  11. While watching a 2023 Spring Training Game, I commented to someone that I was fast forwarding thru Castro’s at-bat because he wasn’t going to make the team. I was way too wrong last year, and off the charts wrong in 2024. Congrats to Willi Castro, who is very deserving of this. He joins a list of great utility guys for the Twins, Tovar, Warshington (as Killebrew pronounced it), Newman, Punto, Escobar (and maybe I missed a few more).
  12. Continues in Chicago tonight!!
  13. Lack of at bats keeps Miranda and Lewis off the team. Jeffers’ production has dropped off. BUT - Jax, Ryan, Buxton and Castro are worthy and one may make it to replace an injured player. Santana has been surprisingly good, but not at an all-star level.
  14. I watched him stretch and turn great throw from Correa into a great play. He’s hitting like he did years ago. I didn’t see this coming. I will give you a Mea Culpa.
  15. NEVER LEAVE THE BALLPARK EARLY. You are guaranteeing missing games like tonight’s. You also guarantee missing the walk-off win. For those who say “they lost anyways” or that it was worth “beating the traffic”, you just don’t get it. That crowd was Rockin’ and you missed the excitement. Skip the first inning if you can’t take in a full game.
  16. I only see one camp that’s passionate. One camp says that the person I have still not given a name is available, likely to be a cheap contract (Twins don’t want to spend too much this year). has arguably put his troubles behind him while possibly maintaining an elite skill level, and therefore should be part of the “Mercenary” conversation. The other camp is the passionate camp:that detests the guy, and wants to shut down all conversation about him.
  17. John Cale (after his stint inthe Velvet Underground) wrote a song about mercenaries being paid a meager wage: Which is just about enough to make them wanna kill for you. But not enough to make them wanna die for you! Fortunately, even the minimum MLB salary would not be a “meager wage”. So, I have no problem with the Twins obtaining the right mercenary
  18. He set the record for strike-outs in that league. Sounds pretty maximum to me.
  19. He played two years, so after one year he was brought back.
  20. The Twins could sign a former Cy Young Award winner, with two good seasons in Japan and this year a stellar season in Mexico, setting the league strike-out record. They would not have to give up anything and MLB may be spared from litigating a nasty lawsuit. He has been rumored to be a cancer in the clubhouse, and is disliked so much by some on TD that I didn’t even mention his name. But he would instantly improve the pitching on this team.
  21. Varland would contribute if the Twins would just settle on him as a reliever.
  22. We had to watch a less than stellar 2023, because of C4 foot pain. This year, he is playing at an all-star level. I like Corey Seager too.
  23. I’m not. But Joe deserves this. Again, I suggest he use some of his wealth to hire some comedy writers and give the best induction speech ever given. Deadpan, aw-shucks delivery. Practice it. Give credit with an edge. Then when people laugh, look befuddled like he didn’t mean to be funny. C’mon Joe, you can do it!!!!
  24. With Matt Wallner on a tear in AAA, why not give Max Kepler’s arm a rest on the IL? Matt Wallner has a gun for an arm that should play well in RF.
