  1. A few teams always ending up with the best players is GOOD for baseball? Holy cow that's a bad take. Incredibly bad.
  2. Can they get the roof replaced in time for opening day, even if they start now? That seems to me like more than a six month project.
  3. March to May and September through November are the busiest times in Vegas. But it doesn't really matter. Baseball will do great in Vegas.
  4. $1.96M, per spotrac. https://twinstrivia.com/salaries-2/ Ever hear of google?
  5. There is no sport as good as baseball.
  6. **** the mother******* Yankees. Go Cleveland!
  7. That "competitive runs" category is simply the number of times they measured that player in situations which should result in a sprint. It's not any kind of measure of the quality of a baserunner. All this measures is sprint speed. "How fast does this player run when he's running full speed?" The players with the higher "competitive runs" numbers reflect the players that were measured while running more often, not that they were good or bad baserunners.
  8. That's what I said. And one of those two is one too many.
  9. First off, the idea of trading from two effective starters who will make around $8M combined, in an effort to save money, is pretty odd. Trading either should only be part of a complete tear down and rebuild. Second, how do Correa, Buxton and Lopez go from the core of a championship team in paragraph 2 to not being worth anything in trade in paragraph 3?? Not your best work, Nick.
  10. Baserunning...both on offense and defense, clearly is a low priority for this organization.
  11. That's true if one never ventures off right wing propaganda.
  12. I'd agree Correa was the 2024 Twins MVP. This is also a rather stark and depressing depiction of the mediocre talent on this team.
  13. It's really hard to pull the lever on the Gaetti package with both hands wrapped around your wallet.
  14. The Mets sold for $2.4B in 2020 and are currently estimated to be worth $2.9B per Forbes. So yes, they're worth roughly twice what the Twins are worth. Also, FYI, per Statista the average NYY ticket was just under $66 in 2023, not $276. https://www.statista.com/statistics/203489/new-york-yankees-average-ticket-price/#:~:text=Published by,data was available for 2017.
  15. I don't think there is even a small chance the family is losing cash on an annual basis. Of course, unless you're a Pohlad, neither of us know for sure, since they don't open their books. But Forbes agrees with me. Here's 2023: https://www.forbes.com/teams/minnesota-twins/ According to their estimates, the Twins had an operating income of $19m last year.
  16. They pocketed cash every year, with the probable exception of 2020.
  17. I'd venture to guess there ISN'T a buyer already "on the hook." If there was that would have been announced. I'd also venture to guess their "legacy" is low on the list of considerations for selling. For one thing their legacy is already written. For another, profit has always outweighed other considerations. Why would that change when they sell?
  18. If the goal is to improve the 2025 Twins, this is a horrible idea. BTW, Alcantara isn't anywhere near the 27th rated prospect except on Fangraphs. Top 100 is more accurate. And finding a good defensive centerfielder who can't hit is child's play. Shouldn't cost you your best best bullpen piece.
  19. Meanwhile, back on topic, the Twins have a "multiyear" contract in place with 'CCO. https://sports.yahoo.com/twins-extend-radio-contract-audacy-143700599.html
  20. Gonna need to see your research supporting both these claims.
