  1. Yeah, it killed the Cleveland pen.
  2. IMO this season turned as Rocco watched Alcala turn a 4-0 lead into a 4-5 deficit on an August Sunday afternoon. I've been told there was nothing the manager could do about that...it all just happened too fast. I call BS. BS then, still BS today. Witness: in tonight's game, Carlos Correa leads off the 6th with a HR. Miami's manager activates the pen. Has the pitching coach amble out and stall at the mound. Ambles back to the dugout. The pen WAS NOT active until the HR, as called out by Provus. Larnach is the next Twins hitter. On the second pitch, he gets an infield single. Miami manager waits the extra 20 seconds between hitters...and then ambles out to make a pitching change. It took a total of 2 pitches to activate the pen, and get a relief pitcher in the game. Two. Pitches. And a little legal stalling. Now tell me again how Baldelli sat through 7 hitters, 5 runs, including 2 HRs, a 3 minute wait while they searched for Wallner's glove, and DIDNT HAVE TIME to make a change anywhere in there.
  3. Some of us happen to think results matter.
  4. Someone tell me why Martin is in this game.
  5. Someone tell me why Martin is in this game.
  6. Every player in baseball gets doubled off there.
  7. HOW THE **** does Martin fail to score on a hit to medium deep center field??? Just bah-ruh-tull. Incomprehensible.
  8. Uffda. Great start, Simeon. Edit: and getting better. Three zip.
  9. I mostly agree. And I've never said they shouldn't have dealt Polanco. What I have said from the day the trade was announced was, "terrible trade. Made the Twins worse." And it did.
  10. Pretty clear what Correa was saying. "Some of us were out here taking BP. Some weren't." That's a shot at some teammates, and a direct shot at Rocco.
  11. You mean the guy Rocco turned to with a 2 run lead in a game they desperately needed? That guy??
  12. Polanco has stunk. Pretty badly. 654 OPS. The Twins have gotten a 644 OPS from 2nd base this year.
  13. Roulette is entirely random luck. There is zero skill, strategy or plan to be followed. MLB baseball is miles from that. Many, many miles.
  14. Not THE problem doesn't equal not A problem. I don't see the Pohlads firing themselves, so asking for that while ignoring other problems seems foolhardy.
  15. We get it. When you've tied yourself to the position "managers don't matter in MLB, youve painted yourself into a corner of "Nothing is ever the manager's fault. Ever." By definition, it CAN'T be. The guy responsible for writing the everyday lineup. The guy who makes every single pitching decision for 162 games. The guy who watches Jorge Alcala turn a 4-0 lead into a 5-4 deficit. "Nothing he could do." The guy who hasn't had the same lineup in back to back games in 6 years. Wow, can't believe nobody can maintain anything. Maybe pull back from focusing on Manny Margot in one game, and take a larger look at the manager for once.
  16. Not as much as Margot lowered his.
  17. I don't understand defending a decision that you yourself agree isn't a good one. Margot shouldn't be in ANY lineup, anywhere. Putting him at leadoff is the worst possible place for someone who shouldn't even be batting 9th. The lineup is certainly struggling. Yeah. Everyone agrees. Decisions like this don't help. There might be some level of correlation.
  18. "...Kyle Farmer hit into an inning ending double play. It's funny, but Farmer is kind of who you wanted to see in that situation..." You might have wanted Kyle Farmer. Not me. "Recent hot hitting" notwithstanding. I can do without Manny Margot too.
  19. I want some early runs tonight, dammit!!
  20. Dozens in Target Field tonight. You reap what you sow, Mr Pohlad Edit: Ninja'd
  21. I did not. Did anyone? That seems like more of a prosecution argument than any kind of defense.
