  1. Thanks. I've searched and searched...can't find anything other than this article.
  2. It's at least as scintillating as the article author's "analysis." "Moreover, Baldelli's ability to manage a diverse roster filled with veterans and young talent alike has been a critical factor in the Twins' sustained success. His focus on maintaining a balanced lineup and rotating players to keep them fresh has paid dividends, particularly in the long, grueling MLB season." lOL. That's not analysis. That's empty platitudes.
  3. That's dated Aug 11. He had a "setback" at some point, and latest reports have him "working toward" sprinting. Last I recall hearing he wasn't even wearing spikes yet. https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-carlos-correa-plantar-fasciitis-steven-okert-mlb-ryan-jeffers-brooks-lee/601130492
  4. A team serious about competing doesn't have Kyle Farmer batting 5th. BTW, You have the wrong team listed as "reeling." Atlanta had won 6 of 8 and 9 of 13 coming in.
  5. Honest to God it's not his fault but he's already one of my least favorite Twins ever.
  6. A team batting Kyle Farmer 5th isn't better than I think.
  7. It's also the foot that caused two teams to back out of contract offers after a physical.
  8. This is not Nam, Donnie. This is bowling. There are rules.
  9. I actually don't think it was going to be a DP. Too slow, and Julien didn't charge the grounder at all. But obviously plenty of time to get the force. I, too, think Julien's defense is a little better this year, which isn't saying much. I doubt he'll ever be even average. He's stiff, with stone hands. That's almost impossible to refine past "acceptable."
  10. Another tough series. This is still a talented Atlanta team.
  11. Could have had Hector Neris for the pro-rated MLB minimum. Houston pounced. I think with the evidence at hand, outside additions are unlikely. Forget Tonkin, they're not going to spend the $200k or whatever it would cost. I'd make the move with Varland. That's really the only realistic possibility.
  12. The infielders play where the bench tells them. They're not positioning themselves. The Twins shift their IF on most hitters, most of the time.
  13. If they're throwing fewer pitches and getting hurt more, I'd consider the possibility I'm doing it wrong. At the very least, if I want my starters to be capable of going 100+ pitches per start, and more than 5 innings per start, I'd train and condition them to that standard. That way, I don't ask Mathews to come into a pennant chase and force him to do things he's never done before. Or shut him down. And need 4 innings minimum from the pen every time 40 percent of the rotation starts.
  14. I'd say there's no difference to the rash of injuries occurring now. There might end up being less. Teams used to ask more, and GET more, routinely. And at least the ones that get through, or recover, are prepared to pitch.
  15. AJ Puk. Any of the four RHers you mentioned. Kopech in particular was an obvious target. He's now throwing 100 MPH aspirin tablets for the Dodgers. Effing do SOMEthing. Other teams made improvements. The pearl clutching over "prospects" is nauseating. I read every year how expensive the trades were, yet there are the same teams, year after year, winning. Do you think the Astros really care about the prospects they trade away as they reach yet another postseason?
  16. Farmer was never going to see a LH pitcher. And he didn't. The options were Wallner against a LH reliever or Farmer against a new RH reliever. Or Vazquez, which seems like a better option, but managers are terrified of using their backup catcher. Farmer vs RH pitching 2024: .148/.245/.235
  17. I think Martin will be an acceptable bench player. But not someone you want holding down a full-time job. Very limited power. Can't hold down a premium defensive position full time.
