    You gotta beat good teams to get to, and win, a World Series. That said, If we're stuck playing Baltimore or the Yankees, I'd rather it be a 3 game Series than 5 or 7.

    Why would you trade an elite bat? And why is 1st base some badge of dishonor? Should the Twins have traded Harmon Killebrew rather than move him to 1st? From 3rd, BTW. Was Hrbek worthless? Morneau? Again, we need to move past the idea that somehow Lewis's offense doesn't count as much if he's standing at 1st. They don't deduct 15 runs at the end of the season in real life like they do at Fangraphs. He can be a good first baseman, and possibly be more likely to stay on the field. The Twins need a 1st baseman too.

    I might be no one, but I'm talking about moving Lewis to first base. In 2025, of course. We need to get past the fallacy that a base hit counts for less or more depending on where you stand on defense.

    A refresher on waiver rules: https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/outright-waivers Some highlights: -Any of the 29 other teams can make a claim. -Priority for being awarded a claim is by reverse order by winning percentage at time of award. League not a factor. Ties awarded to worst winning percentage prior season. -Winning a claim means team takes on remaining salary obligations. -Winning team must place player on 40 man. ... I can't find it, but I believe the waiver period is 72 hours. Edit: Based on the Elias Diaz on waivers piece in MLBTradeRumors, it looks like the waiver process might be 24 hours. If I'm reading it correctly.

    I had the same thoughts about Farmer at SS and Martin at 2nd. My thought was to get Martin out of CF. I'd have used Castro though, because Margot isn't any good either. However, I dunno if Farmer can play SS at all. He's really, really immobile. It's a conundrum.

    Dunno. I'd imagine any team, if any actually liked what they saw, would expect at least a short AAA stint. So he might not have a choice. In any case, to repeat, this would have already happened. There's no money anyway.

    1. Louie was at 6.46 going into today. With a WHIP over 1.6 2. "Currently." Can we count on nobody else leaving the rotation? What would it hurt to put him in St Paul for a few weeks?

    I think IndianaTwin's point needs to be re-emphasized: a team signing Hill is going to want at least one AAA start, probably more, before a big league start. What's the downside of 2 or 3 St Paul starts for Hill? If there's a later need, at least you have a option. And I'd be surprised if he's not better than Varland, BTW
