  1. Now you're just making things up. My position, from the day the Twins announced the trade, has been it made the Twins weaker in 2024. I understood the need to shed salary. But they got hosed. I posted the same in the thread announcing the deal. I said DeSclafani was worse than nothing, Topa a Longshot to help at all, and two far off minor leaguers don't help the 2024 team. I haven't varied off that stance since January. The original trade thread was on January 29, if you'd care to review. Might be a good reminder of YOUR positions on that day, too.
  2. Need this game badly, 'cause tomorrow is...an unlikely W.
  3. Got my fingers crossed, but this isn't a good situation.
  4. "Something Rocco loves to do with his lineups is bait opposing managers into bringing in relievers for situational spots..." Seriously? You have that backwards. Rocco gets played three or four times per week, minimum. Opposing managers bait Rocco into removing his LH hitters at will. And we end up with Manny Margot getting multiple PAs, with a RH reliever in the game. Rocco wants Larnach hitting second because reasons, yet he has 8 more PAs this season than Margot.
  5. I thought it was obvious at the time of the trade it didn't make the Twins better. That has been proven in spades.
  6. The OP seems to think Festa would be ahead of SWR were the postseason starting tomorrow. Nonconcur. In any case, Pretty dismal week, IMO. And this coming week seems like a tough row to hoe. We're getting KC's top 3 starters. Texas can hit.
  7. It can't be Varland. He won't go on 3 days rest. It almost has to be Mathews.
  8. It was a stretch to think Topa would be an asset to depend on THIS year. Don't compound the error by duplicating it. With the injury history, I'd guess Topa will have a hard time getting a MLB contract this winter. I really doubt he gets one from the Twins.
  9. I think Martin catches that soft little fliner that eluded Farmer. Farmer looked like he was running in cement overshoes.
  10. Sad news: looks like Twins Daily owner and founder Nick Nelson's major league Dreams might be coming to an end: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/08/phillies-claim-kyle-tyler-dfa-nick-nelson.html
  11. St Paul is a pretty big metropolis.
  12. Detroit was trying to trade Fedde?? No wonder talks never advanced. You can spin the deadline that money wasn't a factor until you're blue in the face, but that won't make it true.
  13. Without looking, who is 3rd in games played on the Twins as of today?
  14. Twins have 2 players with 100 games played. One of them is a utility guy, the other is Manny ******* Margot. Cleveland has 4. Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez, and Tyler Freeman. Kwan missed a month, UT has 91 games played. Cleveland believes you play your best players. Every day.
  15. Cleveland has only one of the starters they started the season with, BTW.
  16. Had our foot on their throat yesterday and took it off. Disappointing
  17. Farmer running in place doesn't help.
  18. Hey they sent the runner with 2 out.
  19. We didn't need to add anyone at the deadline.
  20. With a lefty on the mound, no less. The way the Twins just pretend the running game is meaningless is maddening.
  21. "I don't even care. You send the runner on a hit to the OF with 2 out."
