  1. I have sacrificed my principles and accepted a 2 month free trial of AppleTV. I feel dirty. But I'll be able to watch tonight's game. ... And the new Vince Vaughn show. But I won't enjoy it.
  2. Well, for one thing, Herr, Utley and Sandberg probably don't even have the armstrength any more to make either throw. They're pretty old.
  3. Betts moved to SS with an offseason and spring training to prepare. And it didn't go well. And he's back in RF.
  4. As for playing Lewis at 2nd base, it's what the Twins do. They believe anybody can play anywhere. Which, of course, is literally true. But then we can't be surprised when they play crappy baseball. Nor can they. IMO good organizations--good managers--don't ask that from their teams. Margins are small at the MLB level. Not making plays that could and should be made will get you beat pretty often.
  5. With all due respect...bull****. Some might say what you'll say they would say. But don't put words in all our mouths. Lewis was positioned to go for a DP on a sharp ground ball. He got a sharp ground ball. Even with the runner in motion from 1st, there was time. If they wanted to cut off the run, He would have been playing in. He wasn't. He made the wrong play.
  6. I'd guess he has one more season as a Twin. But it's close, and you could be right.
  7. What "rule"? Callup date isn't a rule for postseason eligibility. A player could make his major league debut in the postseason...say, for example, Alex Kirilloff. A player needs to be on the 40 man as of Aug 31 to be eligible. Teams set their 26 man roster for each postseason series from the 40 man. They can change that 26 man roster prior to each postseason series. A player who goes on the IL from the 40 man after 1 Sep can be replaced by a player who wasn't on the 40 man. This player will also be eligible for postseason play. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility
  8. Yes, but I doubt it's a factor, since I doubt ERod is a candidate to be called up.
  9. A player needs to be on the 40 man roster as of 1 September to be eligible. Even that can be waived if it's a replacement for an injury. But I doubt it's any kind of factor in this case.
  10. Can we have Lopez start every game and hand it off to Jax and Duran every game? Oh, and a 3 run jimmiejack every game too. Don't care who it comes from.
  11. Needed and welcome....winnah!
  12. "Reading the rulebook?" We don't use facts around these parts, partner. Shoot from the hip!
  13. Castro post AS break, not counting today's oh-fer: .217/.291/.338 leads the team in PAs
  14. Tough play, but should have been caught, I'd say. Martin wouldn't have gotten it either, FWIW. BTW...into the edibles? "for not play that well.?"??
  15. Uh, yeah. That's what I said.
  16. Provus: "As this season has played out, we're seeing more of that. More opportunities for Wallner against LH pitching." If by "this season" you mean yesterday, and 1 PA today, then yeah.
  17. That's pretty clearly what they were looking at in the replay center. Timing up his foot hitting first with the ball going out of play.
  18. 100 percent bring Jax in at this point.
  19. Are you kidding me with this crap?
