  1. Do you think the Twins have enough pitching to make a DEEP playoff push? If you think they can I might be for bringing him up. Just don't feel we have a strong enough bullpen and nothing more than 2 starters I feel confident in. Why start his service time early.
  2. Berrios will make a decent #3 starter.
  3. 2 words that stop this from happening "service time" no use in burning a year now.
  4. What's wrong with Lynn? When the Twins brought him in he never had a Spring Training so he struggled.
  5. All you have to then think about where the pitching is rated. Great pitching shuts down good lineups.
  6. What am I supposed to be seeing here.
  7. These teams should be all for a name change, whether they may be deemed racist or not. Think of all the marketing and merchandise they would sell. They could also change team colors and then the diehard fans would rush out and buy the new gear. New nickname equals more money.
  8. Nobody can feel sorry for any "poor owners" complaining that the players need to play at a reduced salary. Nearly all stadiums were either publicly funded 100% or close to it. Every year the owners continue to raise ticket prices almost every year and they never have to pay back the state for building their stadiums. It would be nice if the state could at least get a tiny percentage of the parking & concessions at least to help the state back out for building their stadiums.
  9. Such a shocker that the players union doesn't care about people not in their union yet? I just hope they got something in return or at least something down the road?
  10. I do agree with this to a degree. My only problem still is seeing owners as victims in this whole mess. Without looking it up, how many owners actually paid for their own stadiums? I would highly doubt any teams have operated at a loss ever when you add everything up. Simple fact is that only the Atlanta Braves are the only team that has to disclose their financial information since they are owned by Liberty Media. Teams can tell you what they want you to know. Look at MN ownership for starters. They inherited the team and have been clearing $100M+ every year with a bad TV contract. Yes, players are overpaid to be playing a game. But owners are willing to pay them and no matter what they keep raising ticket prices and demand new stadiums for their teams or they threaten to move. Only people that lose are the fans.
  11. If anyone is bored it will be on tonight.
  12. You would think Boras was living "check to check" and needs more money to feed his family. What people don't seem to think about are what the affects would be on the 2021 season. You push 2020 deeper than normal you could end up seeing more injuries in 2021. Not worth it. As much as I want baseball back I don't want to see a poor product and please no double headers. Even if they can only get in like 70 games. Be happy that the whole season isn't lost.

  14. https://old.reddit.com/r/minnesotatwins/comments/fqan41/bauer_alright_for_all_you_twins_fans_in_my/ Not sure if anyone has watched any of his videos he has been making lately but they are pretty good. People have been hounding him on twitter like mad and he has finally agreed to do a breakdown on the streak. It should be a good time to say the least. Only thing that could make it better would be if he could get Max Kepler involved as well.
  15. Maybe they will have .50 hotdog days when Houston comes to town so they can all get the Chuck Knoblauch treatment.
  16. The biggest thing JD can do for the Twins would be to somehow find a way to get through to Buxton that he needs to stay on the field and quit running into walls.
  17. 5 reasons will be the following 1. starting pitching 2. starting pitching 3. starting pitching 4. starting pitching 5. defense
  18. I said over 2 years ago that Gordon would never make i to the majors. This is his last year to make a giant leap forward or be done.
  19. Room and board? I don't think they get that paid for. Why else do you hear about 6 guys living in a 1 bedroom apartment?
  20. It's still a disgrace how low minor league players salaries are.
  21. So what's the rotation going to be when Michael Pineda & Rich Hill come back? Obviously your first thought would be Dobnak or whoever is the 5th starter gets pushed to the pen when Pineda gets activated. Then how do they use Hill. It's a good problem to technically think we will have too many starters.
  22. Nobody can argue the $10M is a good return in the deal. The only problem is the Twins will not use it. Lining their pockets is only a win for their bank account. You could say they plan on using the money to pay a salary of a player they acquire at the trade deadline. That would be great figuring if you pro rate a contract in a sense that would be adding someone making $20M+ a season as a rental. Or in the Twins case 2-3 players, which would be fine if they need some help at the deadline.
  23. I don't want more playoff teams added. We don't want baseball to turn into the NBA playoffs where basically half the teams make the playoffs. This cheapens the regular season and makes the 162 games mean even less if that's even possible.
  24. I agree with this but the Twins are not to the point where they can't add payroll if a deal comes up, either now or trade deadline. This is just a poor excuse to line their pockets with more cash with no intention of spending.
  25. I know everyone first thoughts will be that greedy owners just want the money, which is probably the answer most of the time. If you can compare a prospect to cash what level of prospect would this be? Kind of hurts losing the draft pick but we still need to find out who the other player LA is sending in the deal.
