  1. I literally listed the three guys he'd replace.....
  2. I was told Lewis got hurt because he was played out of position....which is bunk, but still....no way Julien is ever the 3B for this team, not with the players in front of him.
  3. Why are we comparing him to guys not on the roster?
  4. Winder, Sands, Henriquez.....and others are on the 40 man already. To be clear, you want zero young guys not already in the pen in the pen? Zero?
  5. If you aren't excited by the possibilities here, I got no idea why you like baseball. This guy is a legit possible star.
  6. You think batting order somehow made Max a worse hitter? Nonsense.
  7. Gotta have some guys with options in the bullpen, or gotta cut guys you just signed and are paying. It's easier/faster to send guys down than to cut guys you just signed. Plus it gives you flexibility for upcoming matchups. People really underestimate the value of guys with options compared to ok veterans.
  8. Pagan isn't pitching the 8th. No idea why that's even stated.
  9. Correct. It's not that smaller pitchers never succeed, it's that the odds are they won't. These rankings don't come with ranges..... Mostly
  10. If Martin hits, he's your LF (with great speed), IMO. I would start Martin in AAA and let him do his thing with a healthy wrist this year. I agree with the rest of your alignment though.
  11. That's highly dependent on if Lewis goes to third, or CF.....because I think Lee might go to third. Also, on Polanco being traded. Frankly, I'd trade Polanco after this year if Lee and Lewis and Julien look this good.
  12. I'd put him at first/ dh / 2nd and let it go at that. If Kiriloff is hurt, I'd like him at first / dh THIS year. Why not? Let's see what happens (maybe a month or so at AAA). His bat is good enough, I think, that I'd rather see him hitting than a few regulars already on the team.
  13. 100% sure you would have seen Varland and/or Ober do so this year, had they not traded for Lopez.
  14. It's not as easy as I hoped, but I'm better at it as I get older.
  15. Why do we care that some fans don't understand his greatness? Why? How does that effect us at all? Why let it bother you?
  16. This isn't a real post, right? You want him not to use his actual last name, why?
  17. My favorite part was the Law and Order rerun bit!
  18. No one outside Minnesota hyped him, and even that was muted. Nothing about them is similar, imo.
  19. I'm a fan,, but giving examples of similar pitchers from twenty or more years ago doesn't work for me. Hitters are so much better at crushing the ball now. I think he's a number four starter, until he gets one plus pitch. That might be enough to get him to a good number three, because the rest of his stuff is good, if not yet elite. He's 22, and has a real chance to get better.
  20. Contrary to myth, hope and dreams are healthy. Those are different than expectations.....I too hope he's great!
  21. Agreed. Those looking for next year are very likely to be disappointed.
