  1. I liked it. Going to be really annoying as they drag out the big secret. Not that I'm likely to keep watching it. But it's possible.
  2. Lee and SWR are the cream of those guys, but if Varland is a starter or reliver, is a great story That said, Wallner seems to adjust at every level, and has a pedigree. His ascent is very timely given the health of their projected OF.
  3. Strotman was always the extra piece. A lottery ticket.
  4. They've proven they can't win by winning the division twice.... I think the FO has two big issues. Terrible first round picks too often. Terrible bullpen management. An awful lot rides on the budget next year. They can afford a top SS. And pitching, though I think their best route there is dealing with Miami.
  5. I'd move Mahle and Maeda to relief, like two inning guys every four days or so. I'd likely bring back Sanchez, given the options. If Miami is really trading one of their good starters, I'm in. I'd certainly consider one of the elite SS, but I don't see it. I'd listen on Kepler and Polanco, but be in no hurry to move them.
  6. This. They need to put Martin at second or left or center and let him get comfortable, imo.
  7. That's a heck of a straw man. I was refuting the "fact" he was so bad he couldn't play on the majors. No place did I say he was Buxton.
  8. He was one of the highest rated defenders this year before getting hurt. By every site. Nothing in your post is factual.
  9. He should be up over Cave and Garlick. Plus, is Kepler healthy? Definitely disagree with the FO here.
  10. The journey this year is a million times better than last. Last year was bad so early, and so deeply, it made the rest of the year less fun.
  11. I share that frustration. I am trying hard to not mention it in threads like this.
  12. Thanks for coming into this celebration thread and setting us straight. For me, this guy is a good story. I hope he realizes his dream. Ymmv, of course.
  13. It wasn't about the FO? Huh..
  14. No one can see that. And, no, this isn't on topic.
  15. Knowledge changed. It makes no sense to bunt early in the game. Giving up outs is bad. And, they don't high five productive outs because they are good, they are just less bad than some other outcomes.
  16. Whomever they pick in round one next year will be their top prospect in 2024, if Lee isn't one.
  17. Yes, yes people think a team should have seven MLB quality OFers in their system. At least that's what the posts read like.
  18. We have people calling him names over and over. We have multiple threads saying he's stupid, doesn't care, only follows spreadsheets. What, exactly, would you like the shorthand to be? The team didn't quit, despite what we read on this site about them not having heart.
  19. I admit to agreeing with you here. But then, they would be vast underdogs because of their record anyway.
  20. Fangraphs just did a study on this. What matters is your overall record. You are no more likely to win or lose in the post season if you were better or worse against the best teams.
  21. 20 pitchers pitched that much last year......if he pitches that many innings any year it will be a miracle (not because of the FO, but because he's not an ace type).
