More like what the poster above said. The Twins aren't likely to raise their offer because "other teams" are interested. I doubt Garcia on a 2-3 month rental is that valuable.
This player would be a nice add for the Twins, but I don't think the player is so good that Atlanta would expect a bidding war over him. Just my opinion.
Sure it will be a disappointment if they were to lose in a divisional playoff round, but it will be a hell of a lot of fun to get to that point and something to build on for next year. Also, three other good teams will lose in that divisional round.
Not to mention Eaton, Robertson, Abreu, and other guys. What is unknown is why those guys never got it done. That team had as much talent as any team in the division, but were missing that extra something, or something was holding them back.

I don't think the Twins will contend until 2019, for the simple fact that Molitor won't figure out not to use Duffey in important situations until 2019.
