    I was glad to see Dobnak had a nice outing today! However, I still think Dobnak is a long reliever / 5th or spot starter, at best. Ever play Yahtzee? Building the pitching staff around the Dobnak extension is, to me, kind of like using the 1s, 2s, or Chance category on the first roll. Not too bad maybe, but you still haven’t done the hard stuff yet.

    Players* are forgotting how to run the bases. Ke’Bryan Hayes forgets to touch first as he transitions from hustling for a double into his home run trot. Cody Bellinger runs past a retreating Justin Turner on a home run. I think there was a third lost home run too. Maybe I’m thinking of the Bobby Witt Jr. play. Baserunners sometimes jog aimlessly between bases when something unusual happens, not knowing what to do. We saw it on the triple play the Twins turned against the Royals with whoever was on first on that play, Go get back on a base ferpetesake! Can’t say it isn’t entertaining! * not all players

    I don’t have an opinion on Anderson but it doesn’t make sense to me to continue giving preference to a half dozen guys who are middle relievers, tops. Anderson might turn into something more than that? Who knows. Another aspect of the Wade Jr. story I did not like: leaving Wade off the 2020 postseason roster and activating Kirilloff, which necessitated adding Kirilloff to the 40-man roster and dropping another player from it, and that player was Sean Poppen, another young relief pitcher who had options and a ceiling higher than middle inning mop-up reliever. Now, I’m not saying Poppen will become the next Mariano Rivera, or even make it back to the show, but he does have a live arm, is pitching well in Tampa Bay’s system, and all the Twins had to do to keep him was to keep Wade on the postseason roster.

    Yeah Berrios strikes me as a “gotta get to ‘em early” pitcher. Second time through and he will have a better feel for the batters that night.
