  1. Great first post! Welcome to TD!
  2. Buxton can become baseball’s best CF when Trout moves to another position
  3. Rooker or Kiriloff will be the primary LF Sano or Kiriloff will be primary 1B Sanchez has played 1B Twice as a major leaguer, I doubt very much he will be in the mix at 1B, and Kiriloff can’t be in two places at once. I predict a lot of yelling at the Radio in your house.
  4. Larnach specifically, I agree, he’s not up because he hasn’t done enough with the bat to take the LF job or be in the rotation for DH. He could very well do that in the first half of the year and be a part of the second half of the MLB season.
  5. Agreed, DH won’t be as static as it used to be. maybe a better way to phrase my question: is Sanchez more of an emergency catcher?
  6. If Kirillof is the starting LF and Sano is the 1B, then Sanchez is the defacto DH?
  7. 1) Urshela and Arraez in aggregate seem to be very similar hitters. It should be a very open competition on who starts at 3B. 2) I’d be very OK if Sanchez never actually played C and they carried 2 catchers (Godoy and Jeffers) but feel like Godoy will start in StP so they can carry more relievers and just like 5th starter, won’t play Sanchez at C very much to start the season. 3) Larnach needs to earn his way into playing time. He needs to hit before worrying about a platoon advantage 4) yes
  8. He already did clear waivers, that’s what “outrighted” means. He cleared outright assignment waivers and stayed with the team
  9. One of Bundy or Archer is fine, but both is a bad sign for this rotation. Yuck
  10. Agreed, if the FO can swing a trade for a #1 or 2 type starter, that doesn’t break the prospect bank, they should pull the trigger. that outcome looks less likely by the day. It’s hard to pull off that trade. more likely, as has been tip-toed around, is “Sign Cueto” or “roll with Winder and put the youth through the meat grinder”. like others here, I’d rather watch a youth movement than watch Eddie Harris wipe bodily fluids on the ball and pray
  11. During the lockout, assuming little to no ST (and actually getting an abbreviated ST) a couple weeks ago it wouldn’t have surprised me to see Lewis get a couple week tune up in Cedar Rapids. Lewis seems, to be locked in, and in no need for the “ST extension” and should slot in well at Wichita or St Paul. Looking forward to a strong season from him! of course depending on how his season goes, could he get a call up this year?
  12. Great work Sherry and Rena! The two of you have authored some of my favorite series here
  13. Reading this post Correa, still spot-on and a bit too close to home.
  14. This is where I’m at too. Starting pitching is not where it needs to be, to really compete. A number 1 or 2 in the rotation is sorely needed and when the pitching pipeline starts delivering, Bundy can be DFA’d this season, and they’re only committed to Maeda and Gray through 23. There’s not many options in free agency and the pitching staff is poised to turn over.
  15. It’s amazing what one measly 3 year deal does to my outlook on the plan and season
  16. Kind of, as things went on he caught less and less, reducing his flexibility and as an increasingly corner fielder needed to hit better to provide value. that’s where I’m at with Sanchez too. If he’s not catching he needs to hit better.
  17. This is where I’m at too. If they HAD to get out from under Donaldson, how quick will they be to replace that contract?
  18. Urshela has 2 years of control and this does not take the Yankees out of the SS market. agreed on your implication that Sanchez’s liability behind the plate is not much of an impact, he might catch once or twice a week. agreed on your outlook of the infield if they sign Story what if they don’t? How do you feel about: Kiriloff, Polanco, Urshela, Martin?
  19. Not everyone though Donaldson’s salary needed to be offloaded. im not a fan of this move at all! unless they sign Story
