    I have been firmly on the Nick Gordon band wagon. He’s had three months about 200 plate appearances worth of very good hitting, and around 500 plate appearances worth of AWFUL hitting. Not just bad…. at some point, you gotta cut bait. im rooting for the guy. I want G-Cinco to succeed in the worst way, but it’s looking pretty bleak.

    Larnach might be interesting as lead off. Good walk rate, high OBP, seems to see a lot of pitches in a plate appearance

    Larnach’s wRC+ is 115. He started hot, cooled off in the middle, and heated up again this past week. He went real cold for a while

    With Polanco active and playing well, this team improves quite a bit with Farmer on the bench and one of Castro/Gordon. Right now it looks like Castro would be the preferred option. agreed, Julien isn’t getting recalled to ride the pine

    I didn’t get a chance to watch/listen to the game. The box and the thread look pretty bleak. there’s going to be bad stretches. There’s going to be bad weeks, and bad series against bad teams. It’s a 162 game season. It’s why baseball is great. it’LL get better. Correa and Miranda both had good games at the plate. Hopefully they can build on that.

    Last year Larnach’s ISO was .175 which depending on plate appearance puts him top third of hitters. in the minors he had several seasons of .180+. He hits for better than average power. in 550 mlb plate appearances he has 14 homers and 26 doubles. Not huge, but effectively one rookie season.

    Glad to hear Maeda’s injury wasn’t arm related. I was multitasking during meetings and missed important details.

    Agreed, however how much leash can they afford to give him to prove it? He’s not the only one not pulling his weight, and at some point soon the FO needs to pull the plug on these guys. It starts with the guys with options, but doesn’t end there. May 1 is 10 days away and if they don’t get the bats going soon, the pitching won’t always be able to overcome the anemic hitting.

    I have been on the Nick Gordon bandwagon, and still agree with you whole heartedly. He doesn’t field well enough to not hit, and he doesn’t walk so when it falls apart, it really falls apart.
