  1. Agreed, but I don’t think Pagan is “toxic”. He’s been a bad pitcher, but haven’t heard anything about him being a bad team mate, of viewed by his team mates as a disappoint or detrimental. I hope Baldelli gets better options post haste. Until he gets them, Pagan is required to carry his portion of the work load.
  2. They need Winder for Rotation Depth, he’s clearly a big league starter. I’d DFA Thornburg, he hasn’t pitched in a week and was the only fresh reliever last night, the manager still didn’t use him. Replace Thornburg with Sands as the long man. Just throw innings in those short start blowouts.
  3. “Let'shope last night was the last we saw of Duran, the guy's nothing but toxic for this team.” Please tell me that’s a brain fart…
  4. I’m with the other posters that rotation isn’t the problem and trading away the depth that makes it “not the problem” for a guy with health concerns isn’t a good idea.
  5. I’d be thrilled to see “Nibbles” in the Twins rotation right now.
  6. Prospects are the currency of trades for contenders to trade for established major leaguers. I don’t really get where trading away established major leaguers improves a contending team.
  7. Good analysis, hopefully the leading indicators predict accurately
  8. My coffee matches my soul, black as tar and bitter as hell
  9. This is fair, and no I can’t…. but per the OP there are 5 relievers on the roster pitching once every 5 games anyways, 3 innings every 5 games is better than 1 every 5 games for a workload management standpoint.
  10. Agreed with the OP. I was absolutely befuddled by Soto’s call up. Also perplexed with all of the one inning relievers on the roster, and no swing man. I’d think Piggy-backing would be an ideal way to manage Archer/Bundy and the revolving AAA starters this team needs to more consistently score runs, and Kiriloff should be a key part of that
  11. Kiriloff plus Balazovic might do it. I would not want to give up Larnach. Gordon/Moran/Duffey would not be of much value to the Pirates, Duffey would probably be negative value
  12. My guess is it was a part of his Covid IL activation plan with the health team.
  13. These are human beings with medical conditions, not robots on periodic maintenance schedules. Rocco can only manage so much, and when Buxton’s knee swells up isn’t one of them. Neither is when to activate Correa off the IL, he might have some input on Correa’s scale up plan, but my assumption is the medical staff and Correa himself has some say there too. it’s a long season, and if the team can be on pace for 93 wins while being decimated by injuries and “incompetent management”, imagine what it’ll be like if we actually see a healthy team in September and October!
  14. Agreed he has to go as far as possible. As far as possible seems likely to be 3 innings. Things have been falling apart for Archer in the 4th inning like clockwork.
  15. Cherry pick your stats and they prove your narrative, no? Garlick mashes lefties and Baldelli keeps trotting him out there against lefties
  16. On the Covid IL because Celestino should be back soon, outfield depth will be bolstered, I’d bring up Lewis for the offensive spark.
  17. Right, but there’s too many Duffeys and Pagans, Need more Durans and Smiths
