  1. Part of the high price tag was pulling the trigger ahead of the deadline. That was clearly “there’s no possible way of getting more, so why hold out for more”.
  2. Twins didn’t have that much prospect capital to begin with
  3. It’s Richie the Rally Goat
  4. Adding to this, he’s got two years left at current rate. 22/23 offseason will see another huge crop of free agent SS. Does Correa think he can get more on a long term deal this off-season, or next off-season (23/24)? if it’s next, and he likes it in MN, there’s a chance he doesn’t opt out. With Royce going through surgery, what are the odds the Twins can pull off another Correa deal?
  5. Agreed, it depends on price. While I’d love to see Montas in a Twins uni, usually pitching prospects are the currency of trades like this. With the risk of injury, depleting depth becomes even riskier. Considering how much injury risk in the rotation, the Twins currently have, I would be very averse to including high minors starters like Winder/Ober that I’m sure Oakland would insist upon. if they could swing it with lower minors pitching, I’d be very interested.
  6. I agree with this to a large extent. The core is here, don’t trade major leaguers away… however, they have to do something to improve the bullpen. that can and should be accomplished by trading low level prospects
  7. Why would the Twins trade for Danny Duffy just to trade him to SD? Also, for all those clamoring to trade Tyler Duffey for Snell, Duffey hasn’t given up a run since June 12. I’m in less of a hurry to trade him away
  8. Have the Futures Game as a part of the All Star festivities?
  9. I laughed so hard! new vocabulary word too. It’s a good day when you learn what Minnesota sushi is!
  10. If he does, it will be the second most innings in a season of his career. I’ll gladly take that
  11. Agreed, but I don’t think Pagan is “toxic”. He’s been a bad pitcher, but haven’t heard anything about him being a bad team mate, of viewed by his team mates as a disappoint or detrimental. I hope Baldelli gets better options post haste. Until he gets them, Pagan is required to carry his portion of the work load.
  12. They need Winder for Rotation Depth, he’s clearly a big league starter. I’d DFA Thornburg, he hasn’t pitched in a week and was the only fresh reliever last night, the manager still didn’t use him. Replace Thornburg with Sands as the long man. Just throw innings in those short start blowouts.
  13. “Let'shope last night was the last we saw of Duran, the guy's nothing but toxic for this team.” Please tell me that’s a brain fart…
  14. I’m with the other posters that rotation isn’t the problem and trading away the depth that makes it “not the problem” for a guy with health concerns isn’t a good idea.
  15. I’d be thrilled to see “Nibbles” in the Twins rotation right now.
  16. Prospects are the currency of trades for contenders to trade for established major leaguers. I don’t really get where trading away established major leaguers improves a contending team.
  17. Good analysis, hopefully the leading indicators predict accurately
  18. My coffee matches my soul, black as tar and bitter as hell
