  1. several of my employers have had two drug testing programs. one random screening program, one program that was systematic, everyone got tested at least once per year, and everyone involved in a work place incident got tested. Some people were only tested once, some people were tested several times per year.
  2. minor league DL is 7 days. 10 day DL has to be on 40 man
  3. that would be delicious but very difficult to manage blood glucose levels. Do they check with a meter? I lost 43 lbs over the last year with high green leafy veggies, moderate poultry protein, modest red meat and dairy, very low carb. Reducing my total calorie intake by 30%.... Running 2 miles per day and anaerobic for 45 minutes twice per week.
  4. a quick google search identifies that Keto diet is renamed Atkins with all the same claims and dietary restrictions. Indeed, heart disease was a common side effect of Atkins.
  5. not nothing, but no more or less certain than Villalobos
  6. Romero has been their best pitcher. Are you really going to demote him? Over the next 30 days, odds are someone is going to become hurt or ineffective. It'll probably sort itself out. More likely May will come off the DL first. I assume he'll get optioned to AAA. If everyone stays healthy and effective through June, there's always a trade. I'd try a 6 man rotation until the end of July and swing a trade for a Catcher or 4th outfielder.
  7. i grilled up a couple ribeyes, grilled corn on the cob and tossed a caprese salad. My wife and daughter turned their noses up, but my son (one year old and 8 total teeth) and I, ate like kings
  8. Twins are 3 and 10 in one run games, largely because they’ve struggled to score. They could just as easily be 7 and 6 in one run games and be two games over 500 and in first place. There’s a lot of baseball left to play
  9. Hit the nail on the head Nick. This is what keeps me optimistic about winning the division. If the pitching stays healthy, Polanco and Mauer should reinforce the batters soon, and the team we were expecting to watch in March comes to fruition in June.
  10. Gordon over Ehire? I think so, at least until Polanco comes back.
  11. Does one AAAA journeyman make a difference over a AAA lifer? Can’t hurt to try.
  12. depends on your scale
  13. you are arguing a point I did not make. Individual stats are a part of the equation, the other part is the improvement in runs saved as a team with Buck in the outfield compared to the alternatives (Grossman, Granite, Cave, LaMarre). DRS does not account for that. I suppose if you could look at Team ERA for games with Buxton and Team ERA without Buxton. I don’t have the time to try to figure it out. Good point on semantics, I said “can hit” and should have said “could hit”. It’s all potential at this point.
  14. I agree with every other clause in your post, but quibble with this. Why do you hold Buxton accountable for his bat, then make it an either/or statement? What makes the guy so tantalizing is the potential for both. He can hit AND field. He needs his hit tool to become more consistent. Agreed, staying on the field is a critical component to this equation. I for one feel that this whole team is much better with him roaming CF than without, regardless of his hitting. True there are too many holes in the lineup, and if he can get back on track from the end of ‘17, it’s one fewer. I agree with you that he needs to hit. He’s shown the ability, he’s coming up on 1000 ABs, it’s time. I think he can do it, but even if he can’t, he’s still extremely valuable.
  15. james j hill house does tours http://www.mnhs.org/hillhouse
  16. I really like Minnehaha falls. Seasalt eatery is there, for dining. The falls are great if we’ve had any rain lately. https://seasalteatery.wordpress.com
  17. to Mikes point, bringing up Gordon could improve SS fielding and hitting in one fell swoop over Ehire. Then figure out what it takes to get an improvement at catcher over Wilson. I’m not against Ramirez over Grossman entirely but I wonder if that vesting option still holds valid for the team that picks him up. If it were as simple as making sure he doesn’t hit the threshold, then why not just bench him?
  18. so a guy who can’t field and can’t hit is on the team why?
  19. If you count Grossman as an outfielder, there’s 5 on the Active Roster, and Taylor Rogers and Matt Magill could both be improved upon. Personally, Rogers and Grossman are my choices to make room, barring injury
  20. absolutely, but the process of making your case and validating it has created a defacto wage scale. Players with age, experience and performance indicators in these parameters make x, a year later make y, and so on. The team here at TD has been locked in for years.
  21. agreed entirely. But man the Ks.... he could do wonders for his stock value by choking up a bit on two strikes.
  22. i have received one thank you card and one birthday card per year as the only cursive correspondence I have received for several years. Handwritten post it notes in my office are frequent and all printed
