  1. Not sure why you didn't explore trading him... Could have .. should have included him in the SD trade and taken Hosmer back... Am SURE they would have done it.. Get his name out there get what you can and move on. He may flourish somewhere else... who knows but he clearly is not getting it done here.. Cut bait...
  2. SD not giving back a top prospect as already gave up a starter (they could now use) and a decent bullpen arm. Likely a very young guy or an older prospect to clear room in their system for up and comers. Morejon would make some sense as he has not stayed healthy... lottery ticket with upside. Big young arms or older ones with 2 pitch ability for the pen would also make sense.. to many options to actually have a clue... but my shot in the dark... but... old guys that fit... Steven Wilson 27... Ray Kerr... LHP actually would make a bunch of sense for bullpen.. Young guys.. Susana would make sense and be a great get... !! Jagger Haynes.. LHP.. coming back from TJ.. projectable project...
  3. Quality Move.. both baseball wise and business wise. Paddack will be in the rotation.. period. Who gets bumped...? has to be Bundy or Archer... both have had success in the past but are coming off tough or injury years. Sorry Ted.. Ober leaving the rotation makes ZERO sense. He is one of our core pitchers for years to come.. Bundy and Archer are lottery ticket rehab guys. Bullpen will be fine... high end arms and I think Duran slots right into the closer spot and stays there for the next 5 years... and dominant.
  4. Twin's will wait for more teams to trim down and see if they can find an arm that way.. Then figure out we need to trade for a good arm and give up a few prospects... Would be good with Manea for less of a price and let the youngsters get one more year of experience. Other thing is we NEED to prove to Correa that we are serious about contending or he will walk...
  5. Like Duran a lot but if it takes him to go to Oakland for Montas .. I am good with that .. would take extra pieces of course. For those not wanting to deal our arms.. Remember Grateral? Me neither... If not moving him get his arm up here....
  6. As I said in another area... if we don't find another quality starter (might cost Duran) I really think we should use him as an "opener" type guy. Once through the order and done. At least for a while. If he shows he is healthy and able to handle it go to 3-4 innings.. then 4-5... Get him experience in small doses. Is really a smart way to break in a guy... don't over expose..
  7. Am hoping that he can with a fresh start get back to being a great player... he was for a blink of an eye.
  8. I didn't play at that level but did play college ball and the difference between that and HS ball was day and night... like minors to majors!! .. Why they like them to get a bunch of AB's in at AAA as see "some" major league like pitching..
  9. You guys need some meds for your ADHD... be patient... this isn't fantasy baseball where you just throw something at guys until they agree... is actual "real" GM stuff.. lots goes into it... Our front office has done a great job... allow them to do their job without unneeded panic...
  10. All I can think of is when he gets a strikeout is that he puts his imaginary putter in his holster and pumps his fist... wait... wrong Chi Chi...
  11. Weird how relief pitching is so "fickle" .. one year can be great and the next... not so much.. Saw last year in the playoffs Tampa's relief pitching article. Basically they have great arms but also they have different arm angles through out there pen... along with different "stuff" .. thus not allowing batters to get comfortable.. seems to work pretty well for them and usually cheap!! Sounds like a plan... we shall see...
  12. Did any of you see that Correa is signing up to be a Twin? Holy negativism!! We have a GREAT lineup with both vets and young guys with some top end pitching and bats in the minors. Anyone here actually Play baseball? Moving up from minors to majors is a HUGE adjustment. The young bats will figure it out.. it takes time. Am SURE the front office is working on another front line starter and that allows Ober and Ryan to be 3 and 4 guys with Bundy being #5.. 2 years ago he was very good but hard to trust. Have some faith guys... depressing reading your "gloom, despair and agony on me" mentality.. We are going to be good... very good!
  13. My guess and the "word" is that the Twins as well as a half dozen other teams are looking at the Oakland pitchers. The Twins Front office is clearly looking for one more pitcher ... just a matter of when and who.. This is going to be an interesting season!!
  14. We have a couple of weeks to figure this out and a good chance that some of the log jam will be moving on to a new team for pitching.. As is Rooker is in AAA... Sanchez the "main" DH and 3rd catcher. With Godoy the occasional 2nd catcher... jeffers getting full time. Sano showed defensively he can play well at 1st so will stay there and occasionally get a DH role. Sano and Sanchez will get the most AB's at DH ... at least at this point.
  15. Wow.. not sure what to think at this point... I "think" I like it....
  16. Nice Job again Front office.. my confidence continues to rise that we will be pretty good this year... still need one more solid pitcher... Calling Oakland.. What might you need for Manaea.... Could use a lefty in that rotation... or even Better Montas as an ace... but way more expensive...
  17. Don't agree that he is a no hit player ... 271 with 8 hr and 20 SB is pretty decent. Clearly not with the big boppers but with gold glove type defense that is more than respectable... also given that the new Rangers ballpark is NOT a hitters park. Also given the very nice arm coming along with .. win for the Twins.
  18. Needed to fill the SS also.. good trade.. be patient. Pitching will be addressed...
  19. Great move , liked Garver but getting a Gold Glove type SS that can hit respectably and steal bases.. Every day and on Sunday. Now the pitching...
  20. If can get those done sign me up... agree that Story is more of a 5 year 150 type signing... not sure we would be doing that... or should...
  21. Like Arraez also but we have replacements that are capable for what he brings. If he can help land pitching that helps us ...let it be.
  22. I would say the New Years resolution is that MLB and the players union get a deal done ASAP so we can actually talk about pitchers that the Twins are connected to in FA...
  23. Guessing he signed when he was 16 as an international player. My understanding is after 7 years in minors they become FA.
