Swept by Houston and tied with Detroit for the central division. Then losing 3 out of 4 to Cleveland. This team looks like they expect bad thing to happen. Maybe Lewis can spark them but that's asking a lot of a rookie in a clubhouse with Correa and Buxton in it.

If the lack of hitting keeps up the pitchers will start feeling like they have to be perfect. Then the mistakes will start. suddenly the score will be 8-1 instead of 3-1

Blayne Enlow is Out to Prove He Belongs
Ricky Vaughn replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
He's allowing his career's highest home run rate (1.1 HR/9), but it's a limited sample size to this point. I'm not saying he hasn't shown improvement, but you can't use the good things as proof he has improved, and the bad is just small sample size. -
Week in Review: Wasted Opportunities Out West
Ricky Vaughn replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
When they failed to score in the 7th yesterday I said well that was their chance, its over. Got up and went outside to do a little yard work. unfortunately I was right.- 22 replies

After the struggles he had last year, he needs to stay put in St. Paul and have some success. If he is still pitching well and throwing strikes in late June or July then is the time to bring him for a look see.

Is Alex Kirilloff the Key to Unlocking the Offense?
Ricky Vaughn commented on stringer bell's blog entry in stringer bell's Blog
I think AK has the ability to be the twins most complete hitter in years. So yes he will be the key if his wrist is ok.- 15 comments

The Twins Lineup Presents a Silver Lining
Ricky Vaughn replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I just can't see Lee being brought up this year. he looks like he is right where he belongs in Wichita. Also he doesn't have a place to play. It would take a lot of injuries to get him on the 40 man. I hope Lewis can take over at 3rd and Buxton can go back to the outfield. This would let Miranda become a !B/DH. He just doesn't seem athletic enough to play 3b.- 22 replies

Whether the Twins should have protected the two that got away needs more info. Who were the players kept that took the spots they would have gotten? What were the teams needs at the time? Then you always have to wonder if the player got some instruction that helped that the Twins would not of given them.

Is Bailey Ober Sustainable?
Ricky Vaughn replied to Ted Wiedmann's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not even close to moving him to the pen. At times he just dominates a lineup. I think most of his lower body injuries can be corrected by changes to his mechanics or conditioning. -
Start supporting each other like a team should!
Ricky Vaughn commented on killebrewlover's blog entry in Killebrewlover
Wow 20% of the season played and you want to kick ass and take names. Have a little patience. -
The loss of velocity doesn't preclude him from being successful, but makes it harder. If he can prevent hard contact he should be fine. Probably not a 1 or 2 starter but back end starters are valuable too.

4 Early Trade Targets that Can Upgrade the Twins' Offense
Ricky Vaughn commented on Cody Christie's article in Twins
Look for help in the pen. Pagon isn't being used at all even in a mop up role. Why is still here, do Rocco and the FO have a difference of opinion here?- 30 comments

Byron Buxton: No longer a center fielder?
Ricky Vaughn commented on Ben Reimler's blog entry in Ben Reimler
I think he would be against being a full time DH considering the way his contract is constructed. How many Dh's get MVP votes? He seems driven to be the best he can be, and I can't see him accepting this role. If he does then I think it must mean his knee and or hip are a lot worse than is publicly known. -
If Buxton is only going to be a DH from now on, as Rocco seemed to say the other day I don't think he can be considered a core player anymore.

Twins Minor League Week in Review (4/10-4/16)

Have to go with Ross as the hitter. Having 11 k's in 19 at bats takes Rodriguez out of the running.- 19 replies

I agree with all of these except Lee. If we see him up in the middle of the season it will be because something went terribly wrong. I doubt very much he will be put on the 40 man roster this year.

Top Five Twins Bullpen Shuttle Candidates
Ricky Vaughn replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If there is an open spot on the 40 man Dobnak should get some opportunities. If they need to they can designate him and send down without worrying about someone claiming him due to the guarantied money owed him.- 11 replies

You may be right, IDK. When I read your proposal my first reaction was that pitchers would concentrate on a fastball and an off speed pitch they could throw for strikes but the hitter has trouble doing anything but fouling it off. Remember Scott Baker and how He would get two strikes on the hitter then go to his off speed stuff. It wasn't good enough to strike them out and they would foul off pitch after pitch after pitch. He would have been a star in your league. LOL But you may be right, the hitter just becomes more defensive and concentrates on putting the ball in play. It would be interesting to see a game played under those rules.
-
too different, I think there would be a lot of 1-0 games with very few base runners. Unless the pitcher was limited to only fastballs.

Reviewing the Tyler Mahle Trade
Ricky Vaughn replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
What would you have given up in a trade for Mahle? Remember your not the only one bidding for his services. Sacrifices have to be made when your the buyer in a sellers market. Or would you prefer if the FO followed Terry Ryan's keep them all cause they might be the teams future, and then watch them age out of the system without ever living up to their potential, You have to give something to get something.- 57 replies

Cedar Rapids Kernels Opening Day Roster - 2023
Ricky Vaughn replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Only about a 2hr drive may have to make a couple early trips over. Kind of surprised they are going to entrust those arms to a junior college coach. Iowa central has a really good program, but still. An exciting group of players for sure.- 18 replies

No leash for Pagon. He needs to be on a choke chain. Solano will be traded when when Lewis is ready, if not sooner. All the starters are safe (may be on the disabled list though). Farmer may be traded if they want bring up a prospect or save some money. One of Taylor and Gallo is safe depending on their hitting. The other one goes.
