  1. I think payroll will be reduced substantially. No income from this year and next year highly questionable. Rosario will need to be non-tendered as he has no excess trade value. No way they waste money on Adrianza or Gonzales when Gordon can at least fill in partially. As for the other choices I have no idea other than you do need to start incorporating some of the prospects that are ready. I wouldn’t be shocked if Sano is dealt. Anybody have buyers remorse on Josh Donaldson? I do.
  2. Actually he is quite easy to ignore.
  3. They somehow need to change the composition of the lineup to inject some OBP. And if Rocco is going to keep hooking starters after 5 innings they better upgrade the bullpen.
  4. Donaldson was a major disappointment. Wisler and Thielbar were nice stories but shouldn’t be considered foundation pieces going forward.
  5. I am concerned that the three younger players we locked into long term contracts all disappointed this year. And that is putting it nicely. I also think Rocco might need to be not so dogmatic about his decisions. Every time you replace a pitcher who is doing fine there is a substantial chance that guy doesn’t have it that day. Dusty out managed Rocco by a huge margin.
  6. Romo hasn’t been good lately but I don’t blame him on this one. Two duck farts and a ball four that was called a strike half the time is pretty rough. Polanco on the other hand .....
  7. Boy I hope to not see Cave in the playoffs. Congratulations to the Twins for surviving the fiasco that is the 2020 season.
  8. Same song over and over again. Thought he was finally getting the message last year but apparently not.
  9. Pretty hard to argue their success. I would give most credit to their selection of coaches especially Wes Johnson. The Maeda trade is looking great and the Cruz deal is already. Drafting remains to be seen
  10. I really liked Jose comments after the game last night. He basically said I’ve got the talent but I have to execute better. No excuses. I like it.
  11. Okay. Now that Donaldson has doubled down on his jackass move by claiming incompetent umpiring threatens his livelihood I am officially a hater. He has hundreds of millions in income and he can’t realize his dumb move may have cost his team a win. This guy is not a team guy. Get ready for another 3 years of this crap.
  12. This. Way too much attention to who they will play when it won’t matter a damn if they can’t get it together.
  13. How long before we start regretting Donaldsons contract?
  14. Before last season I was very worried that our lineup construction was way too much feast or famine. Then they crushed it and I assumed I was just wrong. Maybe not.....
  15. Angel Hernandez didn’t cost us the game. However he is a horrible umpire and everyone knows it. Berrios throws more non competitive pitches than any other good pitcher I’ve seen. Last night there had to be 15-20 pitches that had no chance so you end up with 100 pitches to get 5 innings. I keep holding out hope that something will click and he find command but I think this is it. His stuff is so good he still pitched a good game. Wade Jr needs to be the 4th outfielder next year. Better yet find a right handed version of him. Don’t need to see Cave anymore.
  16. Seems we are a little Rosario centric lately. There are plenty of Twins that aren’t perfect.
  17. I think for the playoffs you go with guys that have playoff experience. As far as starters go Maeda and Pineda and then whoever is hot between Berrios and Dobnak. Berrios is getting a lot of slack for someone who hasn’t pitched great.
  18. I see the development side as the FO strength. They have hired a number of talented people proven by how many were poached by other orgs. Only time will tell on the drafting side.
  19. Guess this means we better win it this year or next!
  20. What a pleasure to watch Pineda pound the strike zone. I like Rocco but haven’t figured him out. He has been ultra careful with his starters but let’s Pineda throw a hundred pitches in his second live start. I know there is a reason but not obvious to me.
  21. Agreed. Amazing the pitching talent they have let go
  22. I give Cleveland credit for one thing: they are not afraid.
  23. I believe one aspect of this is being missed. I’ve heard many players simply say that playing in light of what is happening would send a message that things are ok and they obviously are not.
  24. These bullpen games have to stop. Trashes our pen for multiple games. We had to trot out two unproven rookies against our division rival.
