  1. I feel like this article is written frequently. We take a bad pitcher tell him to throw the slider more and hope for the best. i would like to just get good pitchers.
  2. There are plenty of guys that hit 25 homers strike out a ton and have no defensive position. This means Sano has limited trade value and there is no way they are picking up a $14 million option. As fans we are always trying to put lipstick on a pig. It’s unfortunate but this was just a big lost opportunity for Sano and the Twins.
  3. Well we have needed a legit back up center fielder (preferably a right handed hitter) for about 5 years and it hasn’t happened. So I have no anticipation that it is going to happen now.
  4. 1.64 whip for Vallimont. I just can’t get excited about that.
  5. Old fashioned baseball took 2 hours and 15 minutes so yea I’m with you there.
  6. My childhood hero as well. Hawmon Billefrew was one of the first full names I tried to pronounce. In todays world of between pitch gymnastics I loved how Harmon waited patiently in the box with his bat resting on his shoulder until the pitcher wound up. There wasn’t a tense muscle in his body until the bat exploded into the ball.
  7. I did not realize how few strikeouts he had. That is a complete batting line!
  8. I’m not nearly as interested in this experiment as many of you. I’m interested in winning games in 2022 and this plan ain’t going to get it done.
  9. I agree with this. At some point all the clever manipulation of pitching roles don’t matter. If you have crappy pitchers you will get crappy pitching no matter how you slice and dice it.
  10. First thanks for the article. It has to be tough coming up with stuff to write about. I am excited about 6-10 not so much about 1-5. A lot of suspects on this list. I feel like Duran has the ability if he can stay healthy. The rest of them I waver between maybe and doubtful.
  11. Remember when we thought we had a logjam at SS? Not so much. We better party that Lewis can play legit mlb short cuz that list ain’t good.
  12. Why would you give away a former top pick for pitching when you could have acquired said pitching for money a couple weeks ago? if Lewis doesn’t stick at short he will have to be considered a lost pick at #1.
  13. Totally agree they need to sign Rodon. If not they might need to just go into 2022 as a transition. while I appreciate the article can we finally stop with Falvine as a pitching guru? There is zero evidence of this in Cleveland or with the Twins yet it gets stated on this site repeatedly.
  14. This. They could have added decent pitchers for nothing but money. For a team whose farm system is its lifeblood it makes no sense to deplete it for pitchers with two years of control.
  15. Tony is the ultimate player and ambassador. He laid a wiffle ball cookie to my 10 year old son at the state fair and the ball went over the makeshift fence. My son became a lifelong Twins fan because of it. I know that has nothing to do with HOF induction criteria but it makes me damn glad he is in. Richly deserved for a lifetime of making people feel good.
  16. It appears that the FO is looking at 2022 as a transition year. If that is true then I would take a hard look at who we need for 2023 and who we don’t. My view is that Donaldson Garver Sano Duffy Theilbar and Rogers would be expendable in that scenario. I would also include Arreaz just because he is surplus. Donaldson you just have to dump for salary relief but the others should have some trade value. If the FO plans to contend in 2022 then the only one I would trade would be Garver and Arreaz as they are surplus. The scenario I’m afraid of is the FO tries to contend in 2022 and totally falls short acquiring the necessary pitching and we still lose without getting the trade benefits.
  17. I don’t mind this. Some bounce back potential and the money is small enough they could just cut him if he stinks. Could also be flipped at the deadline if (when) the Twins don’t contend.
  18. This is a pretty team friendly deal. Makes me wonder what took so long? Really looking forward to watching Buck for the next 7 years.
  19. Times two. Really great to have an easy source of info.
  20. The Twins bidding against every other mlb team? I don’t think so although they “may be in on him”.
  21. Well it was quite a common topic of conversation as Wade thrived after the trade and Cave is who he is. So I can amend my comment to geez isn’t it too bad that we didn’t keep Wade over Cave.
  22. Lots of stuff to digest here. One thing is clear: do not rely on anything the front office or Jim pohlad says. They are not forthright in the simplest of transactions much less the critical ones.
