  1. Yea I missed this as I turned it off after Gordon’s bonehead running play. Glad to see it although it’s about 3 months late. I’m thinking Celestino might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer.
  2. Or they could have built an actual pitching staff from the most robust free agent pitching market in years and skipped all this crap.
  3. My frustration for this year is two fold: our FO sat out a robust free agent pitching market and put all their chips on the vaunted pitching pipeline. Of course it was a disaster and torpedoed what could have been a good season. Second is the complete lack of fundamentals this team displays. Sloppy play almost every game and in all facets. This has to be addressed before next year.
  4. SWR has had a very good season. Consistent performance across AA and AAA and good health. He’s quickly running out of things to prove in the minors.
  5. I’m guessing that Sanchez is a very good catcher is a minority opinion.
  6. Has to be the FO sitting out the most robust free agent pitching market watching their pitching degrade into a shot show and then being forced to give up valuable prospects to try and fix the original problem. Who is honestly surprised that Joe Smith wasn’t great or Gary Sanchez can’t catch?
  7. Agreed. Prospects are nice because they provide hope. It seems that is what most people consider. If you look at things objectively it is a completely different story. I think Enlow is in this category. Last year I posted skepticism about Balazovic and received much push back from many posters. Objectively he was wildly inconsistent at AA and really struggled at times. There was nothing in his performance that screamed top prospect. And there you have it.
  8. One more time I will post how rotten Megill has been. He gives up runs nearly every time he takes the mound. Why he flies under the radar is beyond me. He needs to be gone.
  9. I think Viola’s change up was on par with Johans. Didn’t Duran stop throwing the splinker for a while this summer because he was giving up loud contact?
  10. Would he one of the 13 best pitchers available to the Twins? If yes get him up here. Hint: if he isn’t better than Archer Megill or Pagan then I’m disappointed.
  11. Megill gives up another homer. They seriously need to move on from this guy. It will be interesting to see who goes when injured players start returning.
  12. I wonder if a less lively ball is going to make the all or nothing sluggers less attractive. We’ve got enough swing and miss in our lineup. Perhaps a trade is the best outcome.
  13. My understanding is that he is mediocre in the field with no real positional home. Can someone verify?
  14. I have my doubts because of the walk rate but he really is the only healthy potential long term pen piece we have. Time to find out what he can do with an extended run.
  15. It’s really too bad that the whole mess started with Altuve being such a baby. He barely got hit and there is no way Sanchez is trying to hit him. And Megill doesn’t disappoint giving up the long ball. He is not good but flies under the radar.
  16. The “puff piece” article actually has nothing to do with Buck learning Spanish. He did it to be a better teammate not to get written about. If your beef is with the author of the article then fine. If you are denying Buck credit for trying to be a better teammate then you are wrong.
  17. He has been a godsend especially because he has been used in different situations. I hope he works on the splinker and can use it again. This is also an interesting story because he didn’t always tear it up in the minors.
  18. This. The vaunted pitching pipeline is turning out to be a garden hose.
  19. Well let’s also remember Cavaco and Sabato bothe first round picks haven’t done much. Normally they would be leading your list right now.
  20. I guess I missed where the Twins said he was going to be a long reliever. I get that it seems logical but the premise of the article is based on that assumption. Perhaps they are going to let Pagan be the long reliever as he just had a multiple inning outing.
  21. As much as I like Miranda I think I would go with Duran. Without him the Twins would have been sunk long ago. Imagine that bullpen without him. Miranda is a close second. He’s kind of a throwback in that he hits the outside pitch the other way. He’s our best all around hitter and it ain’t even close.
  22. Viola once threw Dwight Evans 9 straight change ups in one game. Evans had no chance.
