  1. Jorge looks off at the plate the last few games. Does not appear that he is seeing the ball well and is guessing. We are running through their bullpen here. We need 6 outs. GO TWINS!
  2. This Ump is BRUTAL. That first pitch to Wallner was both very low and very outside. He appears to be making up his mind on whether the pitch is a strike before it actually crosses the plate.
  3. That horse-bleep call on Julien costs us a run on a Sac Fly and potentially huge inning. Man, bring on the Robo Umps.
  4. Yet again, Julien hosed by a bad call by the home plate ump. Sheesh, I hope he gets more respect as he advances in his career.
  5. First, that burned the outside edge, not down the middle. But Correa looked either overmatched, or he was looking for a pitch that they never threw him. 4 takes. Good news beyond the early lead, we put Gausman at 29 pitches in one inning; excellent to dig into their pitching depth right off the bat of the series.
  6. Lucky Kiriloff and/or Springer not hurt on that terrible throw. Not a good start, boys.
  7. Tough matchup for the Twins, would have greatly preferred to meet Texas. Time to play your very best baseball and take smart at bats.
  8. Twins might score more runs tonight than the Vikes score points tomorrow.
  9. Well, that pitch was NOT a strike by any objective basis. It was low. Julien was right. Ump was wrong. If you need to make a Vulcan mind-meld with each ump, good luck with that.
  10. I cannot think of another Twin that would improve his OBP more than Julien if they went to the minor league Robo Umps. He got hosed on that 3-2 pitch called, and that is the umpteenth time that has happened this season. He has a terrific eye, better than the umps apparently.....
  11. MLB has it at 463 feet. I think they are guessing. Mammoth shot to Right Center all the way beyond the seating area.
  12. ESPN already lists Paddack as pitching for the Twins. Perhaps he might not, either, with this delay if he was all warmed up before the rain.
  13. (I hope it is ok with the Mods to talk Vikings during the rain delay....)
  14. 2 chances to score inside the 10, zero points. 'Nuff said.
  15. Vikes need to have a heart to heart with Cousins, get him to waive his no-trade clause, and fleece the Jets. Re-build around JJ and Addision and their 2 OT's and burn the rest to the ground. Kwesi needs to take advantage of this opportunity on a lost season to set the Team up for success down the road, and, hopefully, Caleb Williams as the QBOTF.
  16. Never a doubt in the world there! (I have no fingernails left....)
  17. The "other sport", but outside chance that every other team in the NFC North loses today, covering the Vikings loss on Thursday night.
  18. Sorry, Rick, re-reading my post it came off a bit snarky. Not intended that way at all. When we did all the math last time, it got a bit "contested". Actually, Ryan also has a later release point, which also explains why his FB plays up in velocity, too. Not as extreme as Ober, but still a difference.
  19. We did this analysis last year, but because of Ober's extreme height and, accordingly, extended release point, he adds about 3 mph to his fastball (effectively) compared to an average sized MLB pitcher. The ball has to travel a shorter distance from release to home plate. I don't want to do all the math again, but you are free to try it yourself if skeptical.
  20. Man, Headrick doesn't fool anyone.
  21. Maeda dealing tonight. 6 innings, only 3 hits, and 7 K's. He should be good for another inning with this pitch count???
  22. Very interested to see how Keuchel fares against an excellent Rays lineup.
  23. Starting to get very worried about Wallner. He can't handle the high fast ball. He looks like Gallo on high fast balls, which is not a good thing. I hope it is a slump as opposed to being overmatched. We already have a LH hitting OF who is a AAAA player: Larnach. Don't want another one.....
