  1. Cripes, why not Gonzalez play? He is only here for a few days, let's see what the youngster can do! He looked poised last night against a pretty tough lefty with a power arm.
  2. I see no logical reason NOT to trade Jeffers if he comes back strong and can garner a nice return. He is gonzo after the end of the year. What difference does it make if he plays an extra couple months here? Ryan, either sign him to an extension (highly, highly unlikely) or trade him. He should have tremendous value to a deep pockets team that can sign him to an extension. I would love to see Twins re-sign him, but it is never going to happen so move him for a haul. Larnach, Bell, Rogers--all rentals and if you get something enticing, sure. Buxton. Whoo-boy, you better be careful here. He is having a terrific season and is on a BARGAIN contract. If the Brinks truck backs up, take a look inside. Teams like the Yankees and Dodgers would love him, and it sure would be fun to watch Byron play some post-season baseball. See no reason to move controllable players like Martin. Ober, I would listen. Going to be an very interesting trade deadline in all likelihood.
  3. Good luck Gonzo! Hope you make them keep you here for the decade! I am just excited to see someone under 25 getting a chance.
  4. When and if the Twins are 15-20 games out after the trade deadline, there is zero reason not to give Fedko and Sabato 6-8 weeks of MLB playing time to see what they can or cannot do.
  5. Seems to me that Fedko should be next man up with Gray goes on Paternity leave. Or Sabato.
  6. At least he worked the AB before he did the inevitable and struck out....10 pitch AB.
  7. They simply are not a good team. Starting pitching has been better than expected after losing Lopez. All other components, hitting, fielding and relief pitching, is AAA level. As noted repeatedly above, Lewis is completely lost at this point, and the costly error only makes this more obvious on this particular evening. To the poster that thought they might reach .500 this season, good luck with that. (But I would be astonished and delighted to be wrong!)
  8. Bell is fizzling out as a late-to-the-dinner-table signing. Had a nice run during the win streak, not much since. Lewis to AAA for a re-set makes sense. I think they bring up Arcia instead of CPepper, at least until and if his bat heats up in AAA. Hasn't been bad, but could be better to be sure. Lee to 3B is fine. He also might be called upon for 2B for Keaschall if that young man doesn't figure things out better, both at the plate and in the field. We are past the quarter pole. Another month and start to start up the trade machine and bring up the rest of the youngsters who hopefully have returned to health.
  9. I doubt it. Probably lose 2/3 vs. Brewers, puts them 5 games under.
  10. Rushing is hitting .328. Don't think they would start Jeffers, either. If their utility fielder is not as good as Gray, that might be accurate? But does that really matter? Are they trading for Gray? No, why bother. I simply don't remember a situation in MLB where one team beats the other in 25 or 26 or their respective roster spots. By a LOT. That is sickening.
  11. I was looking at the Dodgers roster this year and comparing it to the Twins. There are exactly ZERO Twins who would make the Dodgers roster at this point in time. Pages is playing CF at a 2.6 War clip this year so no to Buxton. Joe Ryan---maaayyybbeee if he were healthy. Otherwise none. How crazy is that? Just think about that. Their entire roster is better than the Twins entire roster. Parity? What a joke.
  12. Twins continue on a ~.400 pace, as expected. They simply are not very good. Boy, this new CBA better make some real changes to competitiveness. Twins have no hope vs. the Dodgers, Yankees, etc. Simply don't have the horses.
  13. Don't the Twins have a position player that wants to try? These guys we are putting out there are not worth a darn.....
  14. Bullet. Dodged. Very happy for him. Very happy for the Twins. Still think he needs to be either extended or traded.
  15. Many of us, including me, advocating finishing the tear down and accelerate the re-build by dealing Ryan and Jeffers and possibly Lopez this off-season. Tragically, we were right. The Twins tried to straddle by trading some pieces and retaining others and it now has killed their chances for a solid rebuild. Back to square one. Hope the new CBA can make smaller market teams relevant again in this wonderful sport. Otherwise, might as well adopt a second team that actually gets to play in October....
  16. If the Twins bullpen blows this game, too, the 14 fans in attendance might try and burn the place down.....
  17. I hope and pray Tom Pohlad is in attendance at this game. I also hope he throws up, because that is what all the real fans want to do watching this debacle of a team. Feel sorry for Preilipp, and also feel sorry for Shelton having to manage this pile of ****. Sell the damn team and begin a total rebuild. Rather watch young players lose than 39 year olds.
  18. Let me see if I have this straight. The Mets are the worst team in Baseball so far in 2026. The Twins are putting a 39 year old relief pitcher out there in a 1 run game that the METS dumped. Color me shocked that he is getting shelled.
  19. I think it is fair to criticize Tom Pohlad for declaring that the team is competitive. Either he is lying, or he is ignorant. Neither is a good quality for an ownership head.
  20. They are who we thought they were. Nothing more, nothing less. Give it a couple more weeks to simmer, then start the rebuild aggressively.
  21. I would send Wallner down to AAA, outright Outman, Banda, trade Ryan, Jeffers and everyone else they have no real intention to re-sign and start the rebuild.
  22. Let this play out to its inevitable conclusion for the next 3-5 weeks. When they are 15 games under .500, start the rest of the rebuild by trading anyone and everything older than 25 and bring up the youngsters and let them sink or swim. I guarantee you Twins' fans--the few that are not completely alienated by this ownership family--would rather watch ERod, Gonzo, Jenkins, etc. lose games than this current collection of misfit toys.
  23. Continue to bang the drum to bring up all the youngsters and let them learn to play at the MLB level....or not. But then we know. Playing this bunch of never-have-beens, never-will-be's is a waste of time for everyone. Tore down the bullpen last trade deadline, tear the rest down now and get on with the rebuild.
