    Offer him BOTH the QO and a $50M, 3 year deal to re-sign. That way he is guaranteed to either play under the QO or return the highest level comp pick.

    Why would arthroscopic elbow surgery in October force him to go to AAA? That is a strange takeaway.

    Development is easy when you hardly ever (Skubal the exception) have to trade any of your talent to get GREAT players on your roster. You have an open checkbook, the ridiculous sweetheart deal shielding significant portions of your revenue due to an owner divorce resolved 15 years ago, and now have the fantastic loophole of deferred comp to exploit. Oh, and you have a great team in a great market with a great climate. How on earth could that franchise succeed?

    That was a pretty underwhelming end of season presser, IMO. A lot of platitudes and generalities. Disappointing season, but consistent with the talent they fielded. Made the exact wrong moves leading up to and at the trade deadline. Should have leveraged needs from other teams to extract good value for Jeffers and Ryan before they leave. Buying on 1 year RP's was pretty meaningless when you are not a realistic contender==more lipstick on the pig. Want to generate some good will? Give Jeffers a 4 year deal. Lock up Jenkins on a long-term deal. Extend Ryan. Extend Lopez. Make some sensible trades of excess OF depth for other areas like RP's. Find a frickin' 1B that can field and hit, either through trade or FA. Cut the dead wood.

    Kremer was a trade acquisition. Perhaps I wasn't clear: the endless wave of waiver wire pickups that failed.

    That was a very depressing read. Total dumpster diving. Yielded one decent pickup--Gomez, and a plethora of failures.

    I would let him compete in ST for a R-handed platoon bat at 1B and 2B to offset Clemens. If he stinks, send him on. But the days of 5-600 AB's are gone.

    I am not a Sabato fan, but an F after 6 AB's? Talk about the proverbial cup of coffee. You need to add "INC" to your grading system and put Sabato, Gonzalez and Ross in that category. Rest looks pretty accurate.

    I think he meant he prefers Keasch in LF and Roden in RF. Both are in the lineup.

    Easy to spend Pohlad money: 1) Sign Jeffers 2) Extend Ryan 3) Extend Lopez 4) Give Jenkins one of those 8 year deals. 5) Add additional pitching. See? Easy!

    Glad we "acquired" assets at the Trade Deadline for our "Playoff Run" so we could be competitive with teams like the Yankees..... This FO/Ownership is so out of touch with baseball reality it is actually sad.

    Only options seem to be LF, 1B or DH. He can supplant Lewis at 1B as far as I am concerned, but don't know if he can field that position either.

    I actually think if they can emulate the NFL salary model with full revenue sharing it will ENHANCE the media rights in 2028. Sure going to be a LOT more interest from ALL the markets with the new parameters. Also curiosity as to how it would all work out.

    Why on earth would a team as needy as the Twins part ways with a young player who has never had an AB in the majors? The premise of this article is absurd, IMO.

    My bad on Kremer. For some reason I thought he had another year. I can take him or leave him unless the price is modest.

    I am fine with Ober, but not at $8M. If he would sign for half that, sure. Lewis will be a decision after Spring Training. If he doesn't turn it around, gonzo. Larnach will not be tendered, IMO. Bell, he is an average DH who cannot help at all defensively. Meh. Martin, see Lewis above. Kremer is under contract, and they appear to like his stuff. He is a depth SP. Rogers will not be re-signed, IMO. Jeffers should be offered a contract but will walk in FA. Caratini? Trade him is someone wants him. Poor signing. Jackson, who knows? Backup C I guess. Kreidler can't hit. Ross should be given a chance in Spring Training. Hard to believe he could hit worse than Kreidler. Gabby Gonzalez? Who knows? Spring Training audition for 1B/DH. ERod should get at least half a season at MLB to see what he can do. At least he can field. Hope he stays on the field. Wallner? I would like to see him in Spring Training competing for DH. This is not a good roster, folks.

    It's over. It was over at the trade deadline but the FO was delusional. Get ERod up. Treat the last 16 games as early Spring Training. Stop giving playing time to players that have no future on this team (or any other).

    I will be stunned if Jeffers gets anything less than a $60M offer. I think it will be closer to $80M. C's are scarce, and C's that can hit are even scarcer. He will get paid.
