  1. Who are these guys, and what did they do with the Twins hitters? :)
  2. Big win, especially with the big lefty going for Detroit tomorrow. Tough game upcoming.
  3. Why would you watch this game without alcohol? Seems mandatory, especially when watching out "fielding".
  4. Lee with a scalding 6 hopper into the hole for a base hit!
  5. Why the Holy Heck is Outman NOT bunting in that situation? He can't hit, and the 3B was playing deep and off the line. Worst case, it is a sacrifice. Instead, yet another K. Shelton needs to use the lousy roster the best he can. Bunt there.
  6. Lee has options left, correct? Why the heck don't they bring up Culpepper at this point. Or Arcia. At least he can field even if he can't hit. But the pitchers deserve some competent SS play, don't they?
  7. The continued inability of this team's hitters to come through with RISP is mystifying. How can be this pathetic ALL THE TIME.
  8. This team is, unfortunately, performing as most of us expected. Currently on .333 clip, will probably end up .400 or so. Dismal.
  9. The way Royce is butchering 3B, how about Gray at SS until Culpepper gets called up, Lee at 3B, and Lewis at 1B?
  10. 5 K's today. Not sure what he figured out, but he needs to be better than that! Tied all-time franchise record. Have no idea why he can't try to play 1st base. Doesn't seem possible he could be worse than Clemons is.....
  11. The inability of this team to field a competent infield is simply shocking. And 1B is the easiest position to field, and we don't have anyone who can play the position, apparently. Is Boog Powell still alive?
  12. They intentionally walked Larnach. We win! (Maybe not in the final outcome, but we still win when they IBB Larnach. We just do.)
  13. Boy, first 2 pitches by Bradley were both strikes according to the play by play zone on ESPN. What did it look like on TV?
  14. Jenkins comes from a solid, faith-based family in coastal North Carolina. I don't think he is the personality type to try and break the bank, and might take the personally conservative approach of taking a guaranteed deal in exchange for his arb years. But I don't think Twins current ownership has any interest in long-term financial commitments, no matter how prudent they might be. They apparently want to keep the books clean. Same reason they are not extending Joe Ryan.
  15. Wow, this team is actually worse than I thought they were. This is going to be a LOOONNNGGG season, folks.
  16. I wonder if you strapped Zolle to a lie detector and asked him if he regrets the decision to offer the Arb contract to Larnach what he would say?
  17. And the deterioration of downtown Minneapolis is not helping anything, either. I have friends that refuse to go there for a game now who used to regularly attend. It is too bad, as I love the stadium itself and they did a great job shoehorning it into that tight location.
  18. They are a bottom 5 team on paper. PLUS, they are not bringing up their young players so there is little reason to go to the games and pay money to watch older, never-going-to-be-good or great players run around the field and flail away at the plate. I would much rather watch a 95 loss team that is loaded with youngsters ala the 1982 Twins. If Tom Pohlad wants to REALLY build up trust with the fan base, sign Joe Ryan to an extension. Good luck with that, by the way. He wants out of here too.
  19. This team is completely moribund. When they are 10 games under .500 after the first month, dump all the older players, bring up the young guys and see which of them can play at the MLB level. At least that will generate some interest in the team.
  20. Twins finish first 3 game series 6/26 w/RISP and left 17 runners on base. I wonder if they will ever get some clutch hitting in our lifetimes?
  21. Twins hitting Suarez HARD. Refreshing to see some offense.
  22. So Larnach/Martin, Buxton and Wallner vs. Gonzalez/Roden, Jenkins and Rodriguez. Depending on Buxton's health, pretty good argument Twins have more talent in St. Paul than in Mpls.... Just saying.
  23. Ober is basically throwing BP out there. No life on the fastball and giving up tons of hits. But even so he would have avoided some of the damage if Lee were a better SS.....he just isn't. We can only hope for decent, average play from him at that position and hope the bat holds up.
