  1. Sano, goodness no. Odo, sure, on a minor league prove-it deal. Hicks, meh. Garver, absolutely. Gibson, sure.
  2. Boston brought in the Lefty.
  3. Woodruff is out in 2024 so I doubt the Brewers are trading another starting pitcher like Burnes. It would be waiving the white flag, and they just won their division.
  4. If it were my call the QO is a no-brainer. I would offer 2 options: 3/$75M or 2/$60 with a mutual option for year 3. However, I think the Cardinals are going to make him a rich young man this winter, and the Twins will get a nice draft choice.
  5. Offer Sonny 3/$75M. He might take it, since he was interviewed and indicated he loved playing for the Twins and is not just out for the max money. Otherwise, QO is obvious. I don't have a specific proposal, but the Twins have a nice bunch of useful pieces that it would nice to amalgamate in a trade for a smaller number, or single, very strong player. We have too many good but not great players, and we need fewer, better players if that makes sense. Paddack looks like a smart move if his arm holds up this time. Not sure if they want to offer a similar deal to Mahle or not. A strong right-handed bat in the middle of the order who can hit with RISP would certainly be a welcome addition.
  6. On the curious play by Julien to throw to 1st instead of taking the lead runner, does anyone else think he thought there were two outs? The expression on his face after the play suggested to me that he hung his head because he realized there was only one out, not two. I wonder if anyone asked him about that play afterwards?
  7. Small request: Can we ditch the green lineup sticky in tomorrow's game thread? I think most of us have seen the lineup by the time the game starts, and since Rocco will start pinch hitting in the 3rd inning it rapidly becomes irrelevant and innacurate. Thanks.
  8. Jorge looks off at the plate the last few games. Does not appear that he is seeing the ball well and is guessing. We are running through their bullpen here. We need 6 outs. GO TWINS!
  9. This Ump is BRUTAL. That first pitch to Wallner was both very low and very outside. He appears to be making up his mind on whether the pitch is a strike before it actually crosses the plate.
  10. That horse-bleep call on Julien costs us a run on a Sac Fly and potentially huge inning. Man, bring on the Robo Umps.
  11. Yet again, Julien hosed by a bad call by the home plate ump. Sheesh, I hope he gets more respect as he advances in his career.
  12. First, that burned the outside edge, not down the middle. But Correa looked either overmatched, or he was looking for a pitch that they never threw him. 4 takes. Good news beyond the early lead, we put Gausman at 29 pitches in one inning; excellent to dig into their pitching depth right off the bat of the series.
  13. Lucky Kiriloff and/or Springer not hurt on that terrible throw. Not a good start, boys.
  14. Tough matchup for the Twins, would have greatly preferred to meet Texas. Time to play your very best baseball and take smart at bats.
  15. Twins might score more runs tonight than the Vikes score points tomorrow.
  16. Well, that pitch was NOT a strike by any objective basis. It was low. Julien was right. Ump was wrong. If you need to make a Vulcan mind-meld with each ump, good luck with that.
  17. I cannot think of another Twin that would improve his OBP more than Julien if they went to the minor league Robo Umps. He got hosed on that 3-2 pitch called, and that is the umpteenth time that has happened this season. He has a terrific eye, better than the umps apparently.....
  18. MLB has it at 463 feet. I think they are guessing. Mammoth shot to Right Center all the way beyond the seating area.
  19. ESPN already lists Paddack as pitching for the Twins. Perhaps he might not, either, with this delay if he was all warmed up before the rain.
  20. (I hope it is ok with the Mods to talk Vikings during the rain delay....)
  21. 2 chances to score inside the 10, zero points. 'Nuff said.
  22. Vikes need to have a heart to heart with Cousins, get him to waive his no-trade clause, and fleece the Jets. Re-build around JJ and Addision and their 2 OT's and burn the rest to the ground. Kwesi needs to take advantage of this opportunity on a lost season to set the Team up for success down the road, and, hopefully, Caleb Williams as the QBOTF.
  23. Never a doubt in the world there! (I have no fingernails left....)
  24. The "other sport", but outside chance that every other team in the NFC North loses today, covering the Vikings loss on Thursday night.
