  1. Players get traded and thrive elsewhere ... We trade or sign players and they decline ... What's wrong with this picture ... To my eye test nothing but those that follow data driven statistics are painting a picture of his decline , if statistics are measured when a team signs a player then why haven't our FO been savvy enough to stay away from players that are declining ... Is it because they are cheaper , I don't know ... Correa was good in the field but has to learn not to go after a high inside pitch ... Correa is a fine shortstop for now ...
  2. It's nice knowing that people like our organizations people and we have given clubs permission to talk to him .... No body has said it yet , why didn't they come calling on falvey ... Mets went calling on Milwaukee's STERN and hired him away .... Just thought I'd mention it ...
  3. It would be nice if Miranda can be a rh bat in the lineup ... He will definitely start at AAA and will have to prove himself all over again ... no way is a spring training long enough to evaluate , if his injury kept him from hitting and fielding last year , his mental approach to the game may need encouraging , did the pitcher's adjust to Miranda and he didn't adjust back ... Spring traing to short , prove himself in AAA and gain confidence ... If I was FO I would not be expecting Miranda to break camp and head north n 26 man roster ...
  4. Kiriloff is an outfielder too ... So if they did sign a position player that can hit like Hoskins a right handed bat , kiriloff could platoon with Hoskins at first base and play outfield or dh when not platooning ... I'm also sure there are internal options at first base in the minors , though the depth might not be all that spectacular , they might give a kid a chance ... Solano opened the season of 2023 at first base while Kiriloff had the first month rehabbing his wrist ... Please no Gallo, I wouldn't even pay him the league minimum ...
  5. Couldn't believe Sabato is out hitting Rosario and cosetti , Pitching is getting opportunities but not making the most of it ... 2 weeks in and the Twins players need to shine ...
  6. Baldelli won division titles his first two years. In 2021, Josh Donaldson, JA Happ, Matt Shoemaker and Alex Colome made sure there wouldn’t be a three-peat. And dropping Gallo from the playoff roster this year helped get the Twins win ... With an article like this I miss the bashing that he got in the past , and some of those that think he is a good manager , they were bashers before , just because we won 3 playoff games they are now siding with Rocco as a good manager still learning on the job .... Is he a good manager , let's wait and see if he can manage through the entire playoff process and a world series victory , and then have a article of this topic ...
  7. There is never a sure thing with this FO , to add quality is a must , stay away from dumpster diving as they continue to scan the waiver wire to frequently ... Impressive on what they accomplished with the record strikeouts .... The strikeouts sucked and the strikouts looking were alot worse especially when we had runners in scoring position .... Adjustments need to be made , the hitters just don't seem to follow through with adjustments with 2 strikes , identifying a pitch that will end up way off the plate swinging at s8trike 3 , and not swinging at to close for comfort pitches and making contact putting ball in play and standing there looking at strike 3 passing them buy... We need professional hitters for more consistency , plain and simple ... In my opinion the Twins lack a true homerun hitter and a producer of 100 rbi's or even a player scoring a 100 runs ... We lose by scoring only 3 runs or less but win when we close to double digits and that is why the Twins rank high in runs scored and are a 500 team ... That is why if they don't change there consistency they will be a 500 team again ... We need professional hitters and we need them to be clutch , we need a different approach pure and simple ...
  8. A steady left handed starter has been missing for years , LHP Montgomery pitched well for Texas last night , LHP Rodriguez I'm not sold on him and he has personal problems I believe .... LHP Headrick hasn't been the answer and Smeltzer was a good story with small success ...
  9. Nice to see paddack healthy and pitching well in the same sample size at end-of season and playoffs ... He's got fire in him , now he should have the confidence to get ready for spring training and the 2024 season .. You could just see it , he's hungry to pitch ...
  10. They need to add and subtract players and coaching ... I love baseball and want quality killer instinct baseball , take the field and play hard ( the games against Toronto in the playoffs i thought was the 2 best games they played all year through each nine inning games ) , a killer instinct was showing there , as they put away Toronto in 2 straight games , still the hitting suffered to score crooked numbers but pitching was very good ... We need better contact hitters (the strikouts were maddening , strikeouts on close pitches looking was even worse ) , better coaching is needed for the players at identifying pitches and laying off balls out of the zone ( sure you can be fooled once in awhile but with some more patience they can be better hitters ) ... Scoring runs and hitting in the clutch is the name of the game ... I'll say it again , when was the last time we had any team player have 100 rbi's or score a 100 runs , it's been some years , hitters just haven't been productive enough ... Send them all to drive line for some different coaching voices , we need professional hitters ... We have made some progress in the second half of 2023 towards building a better lineup but again I will say a killer instinct is needed , determination and patience , hope the playoffs gave the players more confidence for next year ... Play to win and run away with the division , everyday take the field and feel confident that you can beat anyone , baseball is a mental game ...
  11. Articles like this is why we post negativity towards our team ... Our team stunk in the first half , got better to watch in the second half but still was flawed ... Starting pitching kept us in the games most of the season , every game you thought you had a chance to win with that days starter , the lineup was a different story , you didn't know if you were going to win or lose , well sometimes you knew you were going to lose for sure ( getaway day) Sonny pitches a great game but lineup doesn't support him with any runs all season long ... Rookies played good, Kepler turned his season around ( will he perform next year as well ) ... No consistency plain and simple from the line up ... I have loved my Twins since the beginning , I'm negative because I want quality baseball and another world series win , we need consistency from our line up ( in the 6 games in the playoffs how many runs did we score with a single , double or triple in the playoffs ) ...
  12. I like Vasquez defense more than Jeffers ( he still has some learning to do on moving his body and using his glove the right way to stop balls in the dirt and preventing passed balls or wild pitches ) , he did improve on throwing out runners this year and hitting was better to ... We sign a guy for 13 million ( Vasquez ) and he has experience in the past in playoffs and we don't play him at all , what did we sign him for ??? It tells me that our FO don't know how to evaluate younger players and don't trust them ... Just my opinion , Jeffers had a good season but I think it was alittle unfair not having Vasquez play a game , he played the whole season for opportunity in the playoffs ...
  13. Better not be Gallo ...
  14. You forgot Kyle Lohse , wasn't a bad pitcher , probably a #2 behind Santana , he just didn't get along with management ...
  15. I hope the front office realizes the better team won and can add some pieces to make us better ... We had decent pitching in the playoffs , but hitting went south before winter even arrived ... Some players need to go to driveline and figure out how to identify pitches to hit or layoff , also have to re-teach them if its close with 2 strikes you swing ...

  17. I'll go along with that if the bases are empty ... If there are runners on base you walk him regardless , don't let their hottest hitter beat you ....
  18. The good news ... Twins are in the ALDS playoffs 5 game series ... The bad news is the Twins lost Tuesday 9-1 and are down 2 games to 1 with Houston ... More good news is the Twins are still playing .... Is your glass half full or half empty ... Go Twins ...
  19. I ate spaghetti Sunday and we won , I ate leftover spaghetti today for a win , it didn't work out ... I should have eaten possum because the team played dead ... Always tomorrow ...
  20. I'm eating my spaghetti as fast as I can ...
  21. Would you rather have Altuve or Correa if the choice was yours ... Altuve is a great player and Probably destined for the HOF ...
  22. I ate spaghetti on Sunday and we won ... I'm eating leftover spaghetti tonight ... Royce Lewis to start at 3rd base ...
  23. Tony Oliva and I agree that Polanco looks like Cesar Tovar ... Look up past cards pictures of Tovar and see for yourself ...
  24. I thought the same thing , but after reviewing the lineup I see what Rocco did and why ... 3 lefties , followed by 2 righties , followed by 3 lefties , followed by Jeffers a righty ... If you had Castro batting nineth , then you would have 4 lefties hitting in the order , Castro , then top of the order , got to break up the rhythm of the pitcher some how ...
  25. Javier gave us problems last year for sure ... This year he's beatable as his velo has diminished and numbers have risen ... I'm sure he'll be pumped up , every player should have more adrenaline and determination in the playoffs , everyone ...
