  1. Excellent. Now we can enjoy Royce's debut without a dark cloud hanging over it. Win-win.
  2. We were due, and I don't mind losing one here and there. I hope Bundy bounces back though.
  3. I might check it out, I've been thinking about picking an NL team to follow.
  4. Still holding out hope for Sano over here. Every baseball fan has got one guy who they want to see break out and prove everybody wrong. Sano is the guy for me.
  5. Remember when we thought the AL Central was going to be a formidable?
  6. As a regular person who is not a professional athlete, the amount of money Correa is likely to make is imaginary to me anyway. If I were him, I'd tell myself I was set for life no matter what happens, and just sign with a team I knew I'd enjoy playing with for ten years. On the other hand, a ten-year contract is very long. Even if Correa does love Buxton, Falvey, Rocco et all as much as he says he does, if he gets the contract he wants, he has a good chance of outlasting all of them. Who knows if he'll like the next front office, the next manager, his future teammates, etc? From this perspective, he's better off getting all the money he can (or at least picking someplace where he likes the climate), because liking the team is a crapshoot over such a long period. And then on the other hand, for someone who has millions of dollars in their bank account, there really is a difference between getting $325 million and whatever lowball offer the Twins are likely to make.
  7. It's too soon this year to be sure, and he hasn't had a full season playing like this, but I'm only bringing up those factors to pretend I'm evaluating him objectively and not getting carried away in the sheer joy of the moment. Yes, of course he is the best player.
  8. You know, I'm quite shocked that I barely care at this point that Sonny Gray is injured. Nothing against him at all, his absence just hasn't even been a speed bump.
  9. Yeah, my buddy who isn't really into baseball went to this game and I couldn't have asked for a better game to win him over.
  10. Kind of looks like Martin's quickest route to the majors is... corner outfielder. Or Buxton injury.
  11. At least it's not quite as bad as what Minnesota United has to wear.
  12. Advertising on uniforms is unwanted trash, and the money it raises won't go to players, nor will the money translate to savings for the fans. I can put up with it though.
  13. I want to be excited about some easier games against KC, but it seems like last year the Twins got pretty much exactly the same results whether they played good teams or bad teams.
  14. I hate to break it to you, but Cave is doing all he can to force their hand with his numbers for the Saints.
  15. Looks like you were able to snag some pretty good empty seats on the Twins Pass.
  16. I can only speak for myself, but as a relatively new, relatively young fan, I'm pretty confident that before I started getting into baseball, a history lesson about a past player who I'd never heard of from a sport I didn't really care about would not have piqued my interest in going to Target Field. Now that I understand and appreciate the game, I'm starting to take some interest in its history, but I think people need to learn to love the game's present before the game's past means anything to them. What did get me in the door? -Ticket prices. I had always assumed tickets must cost a lot because I heard fans complaining constantly about ticket prices. When I found out I could get a nosebleed seat for less than $20 I wanted to go. -Target Field. I was dragged to a game as part of a friend's bachelor party, and I realized that it felt very good to be at the ballpark. Specifically, I was surprised that even though I was in the cheap seats, I still had a great view. -Getting invested in the players. I had heard some hype about Sano and Buxton and wanted to see them. ***But most importantly*** -In 2019 the Twins were very good.
  17. I also read a tip somewhere that if you're squeamish about the awkward situation of being caught when someone comes for their reserved seats, you can always go on stubhub (or resale site of choice) and look up seats that are still unsold after the game has started.
  18. Unofficially you can pretty much sit anywhere except the really good seats behind home plate. Sometimes the real owners of the seats will show up and ask you to move, but aside from that you're pretty much in the clear,
  19. I would absolutely be rolling in $4 tickets right now if I didn't have a baby preventing me from staying out late. Would love to get some deals on weekend, daytime tickets as well. Still, I really applaud the Twins for getting some star power on the team over the offseason (whether that translates to wins or not) and THEN introducing all of these great deals. There's little more they could do to grow the sport without MLB making some changes.
  20. I notice "Alex Kirilloff's wrist flaring up again" isn't on the list, so on the bright side, this series isn't even the worst thing going on today.
  21. Hard to know how to feel about this one. We were up against very serious competition and held our own... until we didn't.
  22. Sanchez's grand slam takes some of the sting out of Donaldson's walk off for the Yankees the other night.
