  1. I see the signing has begun (Cards with a RHP).....much slower than I anticipated. I kind of thought teams would have been speaking to each other during the lockout -and we might already have a trade in place for a pitcher. Hopefully some talks took place over the past 99 days.
  2. I'm afraid despite being a fan of his - for the best long term interest of the team - I gotta go with sell high and try to trade for pitching. Those knees aren't going to get any better and he could be out of the game in 5 years.
  3. Do we know if there will be at least minor league seasons yet?
  4. Money ruins a lot of things. Baseball is a good example of that. Why can't these rich people just be content being rich and not always needing more and more and more.
  5. Works for me - lets do it. The team would be better than it is today.
  6. I remember the triples; oddly I don't remember the errors. Thanks for the write up.
  7. Neither Robertson or Beckham sound like someone who is going to catapult us into a first round playoff victory - might as well let Gordon keep developing.
  8. Sign him - If Royce comes up and is ready and capable at SS, we have a good problem. Someone can be traded for pitching. Find a way to sign some talent - he would make our team better than it is today.
  9. Nope - can't agree with it. Moving to Polanco and putting Arraez at 2 weakens us in 2 positions.
  10. Money and greed ruin so many things - including baseball.
  11. I'm surprised Hunter isn't getting more consideration - those 9 gold gloves while patrolling the hardest position in the outfield were impressive.
  12. I would not extend him because I simply don't trust that he'll be able to be a viable player much into the future beyond his controllable years. (knees) He's a mediocre defender who can play multiple positions, and above average hitter with bad knees. I know people like him, but in the long term interest of the team I highly suggest selling high on him now while he can play in the field and not be only a DH due to his mobility limitations that will likely come into play if we were to extend him.
  13. Trade someone for a pitcher unless they can also play CF - need someone besides Cave there when Bux gets injured again.
  14. I think its pretty obvious that long term its Miranda's job to lose. However with all the chatter about possibly moving Martin or Lewis to CF, could one of them be in play for this role as well?
  15. I'm a bit nervous about this - The White Sox knew what they were doing when they non-tendered Colome and we picked him up (yes I know he got better later), no one knows more about Rondon's medicals than the Sox do - I'm suspicious why they didn't want to bring him back. Low floor / High ceiling type of guy I guess, but how do you make a good offer on that?
  16. Great video - thanks for finding that and sharing, now I feel like someday I can be a catcher too! lol
  17. Solely based on their lack of interest in spending what appear to be reasonable contracts for the FA pitchers who signed - I'm pretty sure we're heading towards #3. Could it be because they know this will be the last year they can be cheap and save money with a possible cap floor in 2023 (too late to likely implement in time for 2022) so gotta save the money now while they can?
  18. Unless we can get a starting pitcher who is ready to pitch in 2022, I wouldn't mess with what we have for another year. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
  19. If he's physically ready to go by season's start - lets let him play SS for us this year. Since we don't appear to be interested in fielding a competitive team due our lack of interest in starting pitchers, why not let him get some experience in the majors?
  20. I can see everything shaking out like you indicated, but also agree that it is more likely than not that Sano is not part of our team then and someone else will be our DH.
  21. I'd kind of prefer we go shopping in the pile of players not having the "one team's trash" label in their description.
  22. Would love to have him on our team, however with that said - can't see any possible way the Yankees trade him to us for anything we would be willing to offer them. Do they want Jake Cave back - he must have some special powers we don't know about.
  23. I'd absolutely tender Arraez, Can't trade him while he's still able to walk on those knees if we don't tender him first. Garver is a no brainer to tender.
  24. To see us not sign anyone of significance as the top players fly off the board is very very disappointing. What will our starting rotation be like come August when injuries have hit us?
