  1. I agree with the comments concerning Berrios. What do you people want? He pitched a great game. He only gave up 1 hit and struck out 10 in 7 innings. And have got to love Baldelli putting in Colome' with the game only 2-1? What kind of bone head managing is that? How about Sano? 2 costly errors and a base running blunder they don't make in Legion baseball. Bottom line is Twins lose again in all too familiar fashion.
  2. Sano is no option for anything with the Twins. JD is a good player can play a good third base. But like Buxton, he's hurt all the time. We need pitching. We seem to always need pitching. Trade Donaldson if you can strengthen your pitching.
  3. Nice win. I know it's only one but that's all we got last week. Hope Berrios rebounds from his last start. Trade deadline in about 3 weeks
  4. Great comments all!! Nice to see twins win. Let us not forget though they only won one game for the week. I love Jim Kaat But because of Bally Sports being dumped from most cable/streaming I don't get to watch it much. Thank goodness for great radio announcers Cory Provis and Dan Gladden!!
  5. Love the comment about Baldelli. He needs to accept a good deal of blame for the very poor play. He needs to throw his computer in the garbage and start managing! Quit accepting this poor play and stop telling us they are trying and are playing hard. We are not dumb. We see bad baseball why can't Rocco?
  6. Seems Kepler has gone the way of several of our Twins. What does the coaching staff do? Why do we have so many players regressing? Isn't it the coaches job to develop our core players? I hope Kirilloffs, Larnach and others don't regress under our coaches
  7. What happened to Max Kepler? He used to be such a solid player. He's just a shell of what he used to be. And by the way do the Twins have a manager?
  8. Trades should be happening by the deadline. However my concern is we can't/ won't get much in return. Cruz, as good as he has been as a twin, just turned 41. And he is limited to DH. That leaves out trading with half the teams. Pineada is a decent pitcher but surly not too notch. These types of players will only bring maybe AA level players in return that may or may not be major league ready for about 2 years. To get anything you may need to trade Buxton, Berrios, Kepler to get anything meaningful. But this FO will probably go on the cheap again
  9. Tongue in cheek article? Looks like of course. In any case an article that is a total waste of time. Who cares?
  10. Excellent article and comments. The previous two years the offense bailed out the pitching. It's disgraceful that they apparantly have no scouting skills. Seems as far as pitching goes we are always shopping for bargains. You get what what you pay for.
  11. Wow. Awesome article with a lot of great comments. I have mixed feelings regarding Donaldson. Personally I wish he would just keep his mouth shut, stay healthy, and keep playing well. I don't think he is amongst the top 5 most hated twins players. He may be the only player on the team with a pulse. Just tone it down please. We are already embarassed by the teams results. Let's not add to it.
  12. I'm not a Shoemaker fan either. Yes he should have been DFA a month or two ago. However, I am very frustrated with Baldelli. He should be ashamed of himself for leaving Shoemaker out there. It's an embarassment to the team. I actually felt sorry for the pitcher as Rocco left him out there. I would be irate if I was Shoemaker for letting him hang out to dry. Shoemaker should be gone, it is true. But I'm getting very frustrated with Rocco and how he's handling the team. Is anyone in control of the team?
  13. Interesting how the broadcasters keep saying Chicago got "soft" hits all night and that Maeda was unlucky. Also they your the Twins for coming back and making it close. They treat fans like idiots at times. We can see bad baseball for what it is. Stop trying to sugar coat a bad team and bad performances. They are a poorly put together team, with very little offense, no defense, and terrible pitching and play awful. Do we have a manager?
  14. The Twins FO got themselves into this mess by signing has been pitchers that other teams didn't want. Yes we have had a lot of injuries. So has everyone else. We need to sell at deadline. But please don't trade for suspects that may become prospects in 3 years. If that is all you can get it goes to show what other teams think of your lack of talent. We need good starting and bullpen pitchers
  15. Very poor effort by the offense. With most of the regulars playing, minus Buxton of course, they were pathetic. Only mustering one run against a pitcher that entered the game with an era over 6. A major problem all year. It's time to break it up boys. And another strange performance by our beloved manager that continues to be out managed by the opponents. Lackluster, boring, and no life. Pretty sad performance. Way too many if those this year.
  16. Great comments by all!! Isn't it fun how we all play general manager and budget payroll dollars from ownership? I will join the group by saying yes we need to keep Berrios. No blank check though. Must be reasonable. If we spend to much on a guy who generally "works" once a week he won't have any good players around him. On the other hand wasting money like we did on Happ, Shoemaker, et al was foolish. Idk 5/75 sounds reasonable.
  17. WPA is not very useful. If kirilloffs WPA wasn't good yesterday what does it say about the many guys that went over yesterday. These "newly invented" stats the past few years are a joke. It among so many other things us what is driving true baseball fans away from the game. MLB is becoming increasingly unwatchable.
  18. I can't believe all this love for Byron Buxton. Look at his career stats. He is hitting 247. He's only had one year with more than 100 hits. He has less than 1500 at bats in 7 seasons. He had a great April this year at .370. the fact remains he is a great defensive player but an average player at best. He is hurt way too often to invest long term with him. Get him back on the field then trade him.
  19. Very well thought out article. I agree with most of it. It is a little tough to trade Big Mike because we need pitching so badly
  20. I find it amusing how people dig up, invent, or otherwise use sometimes obscure analytics and stats to explain away poor play and try to convince us they aren't playing that poorly. They have a lot of injuries yes but they weren't playing well with a "full" team. The Twins problems to me seem simple:. No offense, no defense, no pitching. The fact that the FO keeps signing reclamation pitching with the hopes they may rebound compounds the problem.
  21. This is ridiculous! Digging deep through totally obscure statcast b.s. most people realize wins and losses are what matters. Most of the analytic "statistics" are mainly used by agents to try and get more money for their agents. I am almost amused when I try and look up a new analytic stat and how they are supposedly so importantant. Doesnt batting average, on base percentage, home runs, RBIs, risp mean anything anymore? That's what used to be important. Apparantly not anymore
  22. I don't understand these Sano lovers. His stats speak for themselves. He's terrible. Twins problems as a whole are simple:. No offense, no defense, and no pitching. Add in no enthusiasm, and lack of effort makes for boring baseball.
  23. One of the most ridiculous articles I've ever read in sports. Sano has been babied by the Twins for way too long as it is. Simply put he has been one of the least productive twins in a long time. I don't think the writer watches him at all like the fans do. Most of us cringe when he comes up. It's strikeout time and rally killing time when he steps up to the plate. It's long time to move on Sano.
  24. I'm sick and tired of the Twins apologists on here. How can anyone be so naive about baseball results to make Sano look good to average in his strikeouts. He needs to go. It's time to move the veterans. Bring in some younger players that actually appear to care. This group of "veterans" doesn't appear to.
