  1. I don't understand Twins management of this roster. Simmons is only taking up space at this point. Release him. No reason to keep him here when you have players that need MLB experience/ devolpment/ evaluation time.
  2. Shouldn't be surprised by Baldelli pinch hitting for the turtle. He is the most unpredictable, unorthodox, unconventional " manager" in baseball. He's terrible at handling pitching management and many of his lineup and substitutions defy logic
  3. Where is roster management here? Don't Twins fans have a right to question moves and non moves? Why is Simmons still here and taking up playing time for a younger player that is actually part of the future. Why are the three "pitchers" from last night even on the roster? Why did they not put Donaldson on IL a while ago? Perfect opportunity to check out another player while he heals. He just sits, very seldom plays, and us taking up a spot. Why aren't we seeing some of these can't miss prospects we keep hearing about?
  4. That kind of performance by Baldelli should be reserved for road games only. You don't leave an obviously overmatched young pitcher out there to get hammered in two innings at home in front of paying customers. Disgraceful but predictable performance. Plus where is the roster management here? Why are Simmons cave and others still here? Why have the Twins not put Donaldson on IL and give a young player a look see. Seems to me there is very little direction here.
  5. Great article! Well written. Also some great comments here by you guys. You mention that some of the prior pitching aquisition still need to be graded out to see how they do. Correct. So before we declare the recent tradings of Cruz and Berrios steals for the Twins we need to wait, as usual with the Twins, to see if they pan out. If they are as good as the hype we will be great for years. If they turn out to be flops we will be cellar dwellers for years. Big gamble since most prospects never make it.
  6. I agree with the gentleman questioning why Simmons is taking up so much playing time. He should have been traded. I like Gordon, I think he's a serviceable MLB player. But Twins probably ruined his career. A few times they brought him up only to sit on the bench for a week and never even get an at bat. Twins have plenty of stiffs they could unload off the 40 man roster. Hello Cave. Oh and you Gordon haters Remember he was a highly touted hyped prospect that's been relegated to a bench player at best. Remember not all can't miss prospects are MLB players. Hopefully the highly touted players we got in trades fare better than Gordon
  7. I agree. Twins have totally mismanages the roster. I have nothing against Simmons for example but he needs to become a bench player or DFA. Keep sending him out there like other likely to leave veterans greatly takes away from player development. Why wasn't Donaldson put on IL several games ago. He's gotten just a handful of at bats since his last injury. Seems at least they could have taken a look at a minor league prospect during that time.
  8. Great win!!! This is the type of play we were expecting this year. Hope they can take the series. Will the Strohs bring out the garbage cans?
  9. Excellent Twins win!!! Jax pitched well coming into the game with an ERA over 6, I believe. It would be fun for them to take the series over a vastly superior team.
  10. The Twins will not be competitive in 2022 unless and until we get vast improvement from the entire pitching staff. I surely hope the prospects we traded good players for pan out or it could be a very long rebuild.
  11. What's not to love about Polanco? I just hope the Twins take care of him before we trade him too because we don't want to pay him.
  12. If these two prospects are as good as the hype train, and FO says it will be great. As of now they are just prospects. Yes everyone started as a prospect but very few prospects make it. My opinion on Berrios is I wish we would have kept him but I partially understand the thinking on it to get something before he leaves. But it's the same old crap the Twins throw at us. We only have prospects and hope. If the Twins would have paid him years ago instead of going on the cheap, maybe we wouldn't have even been in this spot. Nothing changes in Twins philosophy of just selling hope.
  13. Nice win. And wasn't it great to see our opponents bullpen implode instead of ours? Great job Twins!!
  14. Nice interesting list. Would love for the Twins to get one or more of them. Very unlikely it will happen. The Twins are going with their in house pitchers I believe. Twins talk about significant pitching signings in the past but rarely deliver. Unless of course the FA pitcher is coming off Tommy John surgery, hasnt pitched in a couple of years, or if he hasn't been released by several teams.
  15. It's too bad that people slam others on here that don't always tout the Twins philosophy of prospects and hope for the future. I have always loved the Twins and still do. Like a lot of Twins I'm totally frustrated with the direction of the club. People list these prospects like they are proven major leaguers when most of them will never make it. Let's hope some of them turn out. Ober? Love the guy! I wish they would let him go longer in his outing.
  16. Another typical Twins game. Errors, poor base running, rotten relief pitching, catchers who can't block balls in the dirt.
  17. How can people keep buying into the Twins "philosophy" of building a competitive team? This same crap has been going on for decades. Failure to retain good players then when it's time to pay them market salary they dump them off for prospects. We are always left with prospects and their devolpment and potential. How can you say we won or lost until we see what happens to them? Most of these prospects rarely see a major league park much less being a good major league player. You cannot compare a 20 year old with no experience to an 8 year MLB. This is lunacy; Twins style!
  18. Yes it is sad to maybe have to wait 2-3 years to be competitive again. I hope it's not longer. Just remember it's the Twins that decided to not pay their better players market value and either let the walk or trade them for cheap players. It's been a Twins policy for years and we should not be surprised. We are left rooting for prospect and their development. Sheesh!
  19. Great article Nick. Well researched and informative. If he is half as good as the hype he will be a superstar. If all the prospects the twins now have in their system are so great then why aren't they on the Twins major league team? Because the Twins are one of the worst teams in MLB. If they are so good get them up here and see what they can do
  20. Problem is he will probably stay in the minors and take up a spot from someone else at least potentially. I'm just saying this is the type of move the Twins take. Too cheap to sign a quality pitcher, and always looking for bargain basement deals. It doesn't work out too well does it?
  21. I don't understand the Donaldson thing from some fans. I'm glad they didn't trade him. I think he's been pretty much as advertised. Robles had to go. Sad part is they couldn't even get a batboy for Colome' and Simmons. So today we traded Berrios, Happ, Robles, and previously Cruz. In return we got 6 prospects and 1 major league pitcher. Very interesting. I hope those prospects turn out to be future major league talent like always we will have to wait and see. Twins always wait too long to sign free agents and trade. By the time they make a move the better return is gone.
  22. Typical Twins player aquisition. Another player other organizations released or put on waivers. Believe me I hope he works out. But it's not likely.
  23. I totally disagree. Yes some of the players you mentioned are good and we should keep them. I'm talking about stiffs like Cave, Sano, Rubles, Colome', etc. Etc Al. Still too many stiffs some with expiring contracts. I'm saying those prospects better produce or it will go down as another blown opportunity.
  24. Well we will see. We traded arguably our best hitter (Cruz) and now our.best.pitcher (Berrios) for prospects. I hope they are major league players.soon.and.good.ones. But prospects are just.suspects until they prove themselves. So why, at least as of.now,.did we.trade.away.our.best.two players.and.have.all..these stiffs still on the team?
  25. So because those free agent pitchers struggled you think the Twins should sit back and do nothing? Come on now. Also agree with player assessments except Sano. It amazes me how you can make a totally inept guy like Sano look like a good major league player. Do you ever watch him play?
