  1. By the way the Twins are currently 24-34 against teams with winning records. Pretty indicative of where this team stands and the help they needed at the trade deadline.
  2. Wow. Not really surprised about the loss to the Mets. They are hot and we are just meh. Plus we have a terrible record against teams at .500 or better. Not making a trade of any significance was predictable but still pretty disappointing. It was also disgusting listening to Atteberry and Perkins on the radio defending Pohlads and the team not making any moves implying it wasn't due so much to money but everything was too expensive and the players the Twins wanted weren't that great anyways. Really?? Falvey also said he wasn't under money restraints. There was plenty of quality trades made by other teams improving, or at least attempting to improve their team. If this is all Falvey could do was get a hang on reliever from Toronto then he should be fired. Listening to Falvey gush over ownership, then the radio duo backing Falveys play was very well scripted. I hope the Twins finish the season strong but I guess I'm prepared if they dont.
  3. Listening to Derek Falvey talking about how ownership never limited monies at the trade deadline is a joke. It was so obvious he was "sucking up" to his bosses. It made me choke. If it is true they weren't limited then Falvey led be fired immediately. If that one trade at the last minute was all you could do then it's time to find someone else. Even worse was listening to Atteberry and Perkins defending Falvey and his lack of moves was ridiculous. Those guys spewing out the company propaganda is disgusting. The Twins took the fans for a ride this past winter with no moves and a cut in payroll. They continued that with little involvement at the trade deadline and then, after all the trades other teams made they say they couldn't make a deal and it wasn't payroll related? Ridiculous.
  4. I too found the article interesting. But I kept waiting for the Rocco Baldelli part of the story. I also keep waiting for a story critiquing the Twins organization. Not one of those nice, let's not hurt the Twins feelings story. One thing g I'm not waiting for is the Twins to make any significant additions at the trade deadline.
  5. Twins probably will do little to nothing. When it's all said and done they will tell us they tried but since every team is looking for the same thing they couldn't do anything. I suspect they may make a salary dump move to save Pohlads from going bankrupt. Rumors in the local and some national press are indicating payroll will be cut again next year. Oh well the Vikings start playing soon.
  6. I don't expect the Twins to do much of anything at the trade deadline. Perhaps dump Kepler for prospects in a payroll cut. The Twins have a fairly good team with a few holes to be filled. I doubt ownership will let that happen.
  7. I don't anticipate any trades of any significance for the Twins. At least not in a positive sense. I could see them dumping some salary for prospects. But like always they blame everything on the fans. Great timely story. Well done.
  8. Twins won't do much of any significance at the trade deadline IMO. They should find a major league manager. Today's starting lineup against the Tigers is a joke. Looks like another one of Baldellis throwaway games with nk Lewis and no Buxton in the starting lineup. I believe if we had a true manager that cared about winning games more than always following the iron clad "process over results" we would be in first place in the Central
  9. Great article. I totally agree. I'm betting though that ownership will handcuffed the FO once again. If they add salary via a trade they probably will need to either get cash in return or dump an equal amount by getting rid of an existing player or two. I would be surprised if they ask Correa to waive his no trade deal so they can trade him. For ownership, it's only about the money.
  10. Interesting game. Twins kept it close until they didnt. Skubal is awesome and should remain in Detroit. Hoping the Twins win Sunday. I believe Detroit is doing a bullpen game today. I think the game will swing largely on how Rocco manages an apparent bullpen game by the opposition. He usually gets out managed in those games.
  11. I don't anticipate the Twins making a trade of any real significance. Ownership won't allow that to happen. Trading for a top rental starting pitcher would be nice but why give up a good prospect for a pitcher that may only be here for 9 starts? Idk. Plus I'm sure any additional monies the Twins get from the recent agreement with the players association that could be up to 15 million to help offset lost tv revenue will just line the owners pockets.
  12. If they get a deal done with Comcast good for them. But what about the rest of us thousands who don't have Comcast and have had 3 streaming services drop Bally long before the Comcast deal fell through. Many of us have had little or no access to Bally Sports and Twins, Wild, gophers, Timberwolves, etc for 4 or 5 years. Fubo is a joke. Too many other good channels they don't carry. The Twins helped create this miss and like normal blame it on others. This organization has really gone downhill the past few years. They are not very fan friendly.
  13. Nice article. Baldelli is one of the most confusing and stubborn managers ever. He continues sending Margo up there in pinch hitting and watch him fail in that role. Sheer stubbornness. Just like not letting some lefties bat against lefty pitchers. How can you expect your young players to become solid major league players if they aren't allowed to bat against lefties? It makes no sense. This is what separates Baldelli from the great managers. He's locked in to his system and is inflexible to actually managing a game. If the Twins had an actual manager I think they would be well in first place.
  14. Good choices on the players. Lopez needs to return to some semblance to last year. Saying Lewis may be one of the best players in baseball is ridiculous. So far all he's proven is he is Buxton 2.0. The best players play and perform over the long haul. I like Lewis as he can be a dynamic inspirational player but don't make the inference of greatness based on such a small sample.
  15. Let's see.... no negative comments allowed apparently. I really don't have one. Maybe a minor one. We sure get excited by going 2-3 on the homestead. I will say that I never expected them to win on Wednesday or to take the series. Great job Twins. Thus weekend the Twins are in Detroit. They have won like 15 of their last 20. The Guardians go to Philadelphia to play the Phillies. Then the Twins play the red hot Mets. Great challenges for the guys especially if our injured players come back. Go Twins!!
  16. Nice article. I really doubt that the Twins do much of any significance at the trade deadline. They may likely dump a couple of veterans for low level prospects to further dump payroll. The Twins are only 2 games ahead of Red Sox for the last wildcard spot. Everyone just assumes they are making the playoffs. I sure hope they do.
  17. Tough game last night. I don't see much of a chance today with a bullpen game against the Phillies Nola. Looks like a throw away game. Twins continue to lose to teams with better records than them and in general to teams with winning records. Not impressive. So out of these 5 games with Brewers and Phillies it looks like we will end up 1-4. But I'm so happy we have the injuries to blame.
  18. It's highly unlikely the Twins add to payroll. They may even cut it some more. The only way would be to dump salary to take on salary or get significant cash back in a deal. Then they can complain about not enough fans coming to the park and do the normal thing they do. That is to blame the fans for their own undoing. That's the Twins way.
  19. Nice surprise win. Great game by Ober. I find it amusing that when Twins lose a poorly played game and people complain about their performance they tell us not to worry it's only one game. Yesterday when they win a nice game against the Phillies that same it's only one game philosophy is never heard. Yes nice win. Way to go Twins. Two more against the Phillies including facing Wheeler on Tuesday. I hope Twins win them both and sweep the Phillies. Go Twins.
  20. Going to need your key veteran star players to have good second halves. Somehow avoid further injuries. Go Twins.
  21. I say no to Paxton as I don't think he adds much to the current staff.
  22. As always it depends on what prospects we have to give up. I don't think the Twins will make any significant trades. Perhaps minor moves. With payroll tight and possibly reduced next year as well I think Falveys hands will be tied.
  23. And the excuses for the Twins poor play just keep coming. They are 22-31 against teams with winning records. That won't get you very far. They blame injuries, bad umpiring, and just plain bad luck when things don't go their way. Would it be any better if we had a major league manager?
