    What's more of a surprise? Lewis getting injured or the Twins continued insistence of keeping him. He is Buxton 2.0. Maybe he can turn it into a 7 year $100;000,000 million dollar deal too. Then he can sit for 10 years and hardly ever play. What a fragile "player" he is. Sheesh!

    I agree with the article. I also believe Correa should be added there. However the team as a whole needs a good start to the season due to last years disastrous finish. I believe last year they started slowly again and they essentially told us that the early games don't really matter. Well I would like to see some urgency when they play. At least give the appearance they actually care. A 7-13 start would be disastrous IMO.

    These prospects have a lot to prove. This is an important year in their development for them and the Twins. Lee, Julien, Martin, Miranda, need to show the can be regular MLB players. So far they haven't proven much of anything. Also if they make the major league team they must play regularly. Platooning and playing part time will hurt both the players and the team.

    I agree with the article and the comments from a previous poster. Miranda surely isn't the only one that needs to prove he belongs. Add Julien, Lee, Martin, and a host of others. It's put up time.

    The Twins have generally had a payroll around or just slightly under the average fir MLB teams. Although I surely support and hope for a sale to owners that may be mire committed to winning I must admit that I think payroll has been ok overall. I also think Falvey has done a rotten job of budgeting that payroll. People that are expecting someone to come in and dump tobs of money on payroll may be very disappointed. Yes new owners would be great if they are committed ti the area and development of the team. I just hope we don't get worse than what we have like the Marlins and Rays.

    I would imagine his spring training performance excites people just like Lopez spring pitching performance can be so negative. Like a previous poster said the Twins can be good IF people produce. That's an issue for 2025. Way too many ifs for the 2025 Twins.

    I'm very surprised that the Twins haven't made the entire pitching staff utility players as well as pitchers lol. That way they could be just like the sandlot teams that they are. Everyone can play everywhere philosophy doesn't produce championship teams. Go Twins.

    To include the home opener in the Twins Pass may signal that tickets aren't selling real well. Are they still limiting the other April home games to just lower bowl again?

    These prospects in the pitching pipeline are just that. Prospects or suspects. I think Paddock could be traded but let's get serious. He is not bringing much back. He really has done very little the past two years or so. Pitching pipeline? Let's see some results first then yes if need be trade to improve but not to salary dump.

    The linè that this is one of the best bullpen in baseball was used last year as well. That didn't work out so well. They led all of baseball in letting inherited runs score and by a lot. The bullpen is supposed to help put out the fire not fan the flames. In addition our closer last year lost 9 games and blew several save opportunities. Losing 9 games from your closer was catastrophic. They are going to need him to be healthy and produce. In todays game you better have a great bullpen of you plan on being à contender. Their building the bullpen on the cheap may cost them again.

    At the start of last season the Twins were touted as having the best bullpen in baseball. That didn't work out too well. The team had by far the worst record in all of baseball for letting inherited runs score. Part of a bullpen job is to put out fires not fan them. Plus one of their main closers, Dhuran, was charged with 9 losses last year out of the bullpen. Let's wait and see. I hope they turn out to be great. They will be needed.

    Great article. I agree with your analysis of Correa. He has a great history and he's now with an organization that sanders to the oft injured. What could possibly go wrong?

    The Buxton time with the Twins has mostly been a bust. Too many injuries, too much time on the disabled list, too much hype, too little results. He shows streaks of greatness but more streaks of average or mediocre play. I really hope he'd healthy this year and plays well. But all he has proven over 10 years is you can't count on him. Falvey? He's ok. UT a poor manager of payroll. The Twins have a history of highest payroll in central division in recent years. Yet they have missed the playoffs 3 of the past 4 years. There appears to be little accountability for Falvey and Rocco.

    I'm not a Pohlad fan either but I've always said since the Falvey years that the Twins spend fine. But how they allocate the payroll dollars has always been questionable at best. I think in most cases teams would hold Falvey and Rocco more accountable. I think the bigger problem is the front office not necessarily the ownership. Sure you sign players like Correa, Buxton, Lopez to big contracts knowing the budget. Then they have to dumpster dive for players. That is the fault of Falvey et al.

    Yes i agree. There are too many "ifs" on this team. And I think they need to start off strong this year to at least take some of the sting out of last years choke job. A bad start could be disastrous to the team. Go Twins!

    Interesting thoughts. I think the trade is a wash at best. Texas won a world series so good for them. You mention the Twins in their "winning window." What winning windows? They have missed the playoffs 3 of the past 4 years. Last year they choked away their chances.

    A lot of questions in the pitching depth. We seem to have a solid 3 or 4 starting pitchers. Trading any of them seems foolish especially since the younger pitchers still have a lot to prove. The team is very poor defensively and doesn't steal, bunt, or even run the bases efficiently. They have a lot to prove this year. For all the hype about this team let's not forget they have missed the playoffs 3 of the past 4 years. IMO this year, more than ever, they need to have a very good April and May to take away some of the bad taste left behind.

    Like your predictions. Great if the good ones come through. My "prediction" is the Twins are just an average team with many question marks. 95 win seaso? Possible but nit likely. I believe the Twins miss the playoffs again. Then it will be three of the past four seasons as I think now they have missed playoffs on two of past three seasons. Or is it three of your? Anyway they will again tell us how great Falvey and Baldelli are after blowing it yet again.

    I'm not a huge fan of the Pohlads. But we at least had some stability in knowing the Tram would remain here. Minus one contraction attempt of course lol. I hope they sell and we get new owners. But be wary of some of this. We could wind up with an owner like the Marlins. They currently have a payroll around $50 million or so. IMO the bigger problem has been the distribution of the payroll dollars. Too many dollars tied up into too few players. They are only slightly below average in payroll dollars in the major leagues. Yes I would love to have a new owner come in and throw money around. But it's not likely to happen. Payroll this year looks to be around 140-145 million. That should be enough to be competitive provided it's spent wisely. It hasn't been in a lot of cases.

    Very surprising development but at the same time not. I'm sure these types of deals are complicated and take time and many twists. I've never quite understood all the negativity around Glen Taylor. He bought the team when it was ready to leave town. He's been stable influence on the team. I realize he has had his negativity. I would question his age somewhat. Does he have the drive to own the Twins? Anyway I'm sure tge Twins will have an owner. Who knows it may even be the Pohlads.

    Great article. Great analysis. To be honest I couldn't agree with you more. There's still no guarantees that France even makes the team. After all he signed a contract that is not guaranteed. That in itself is very strange. Plus, Lee Miranda, Julien, and others need to prove they belong in the majors. This could be one of the worst defenses in the league. Let's hope not.

    Interesting article. I'm of the ill believe it when I see it crowd. Baldelli is too entrenched in his analytics and platooning. The platooning is understandable but he takes it way too far. And it's just possible he has ruined any chances for extended careers with Larnach and Wallner by only playing them part time. How do you expect them to get better against lefties if they aren't given any opportunities? I would think many of our young core players are not happy with playing part time.

    I sometimes think players, as well as managers, coaches, and media are over worked and over played with analytics. It seems that instead of worrying so much about spin rates, velocity, etc they should pitch to their strengths that got them to the big leagues. It's OK to use some of the analytical stats but let's not overdue it. I think in most cases if they pitched to the degree that got them to this point they would be better off.
