  1. Someone needs to get across to the people that do the video for the club not to challenge early unless its an obvious missed call. This time didn't hurt but they have a terrible record on reviews.
  2. This team so far has great starting pitchers, the lineup, although totally dependent on the long ball, should be adequate, but the pen has me worried. Lopez and Duran are quality pitchers, but Griffith is looking shaky. Nice find with Stewart, but after that is a big day to day question. If I was the GM I would be looking for a couple of reliable 2 inning relievers and this team could be a serious contender IMHO!
  3. Miranda has the same problem hitting as so many others on this team. Swing for the fences and hope you square it up. I for one and getting tired of watching these guys swing at so many high and out of zone pitches. And lately they seem so anxious, they jump out at the 1st pitch no matter where its thrown. Hitting coach needs to step up and get these guys to be a little more patient, and a lot more selective IMHO.
  4. A few things; I'm getting sick of seeing the boys swinging and missing so many balls above tha zone, Stewart looks like he may be a good find, and I hate the ghost runner rule!
  5. I'm a little surprised they pulled Ryan when they did. They must have seen or known something that I didn't because I thought he had another inning in him. May not have made a difference. Lopez was bound to give up a run sometime, though he has pitched great so far. Now we see how Varland looks!
  6. I would have to say that was as bad or worse even than any umpire crew has been at calling balls and strikes. All 4 games were bad. Need ABS soon.
  7. I like this idea but IMO Kepler would better serve in CF than Gallo. But I really like what Gallo has done at 1B. Not so sure I would jump at the idea of moving him off there .
  8. Some interesting names, but I'm not so sure any of them could beat out the guys at those positions already on the Twins roster.
  9. Another game with lousy ball/strike umping. Is this whole cru bad?
  10. The Ump calling balls and strikes was consistently bad for both teams. Another game showing the need for the ABS system.
  11. IMO Maeda to IL for now, then on a rehab assignment at St. Paul. If he can't build up enough arm strength put him in the pen. As far as Rocco goes this was his 1st bad game of the season. He gave up on the game before it even started. putting in a "B" lineup. Should never rest that many starters at home. Fans pay a lot of $$ to see their team and putting out so many reserves should never happen!
  12. Early in the season many thought Polo should be traded to make room for Julian. IMO that would be a mistake. Polo has been good since his 1st taste of the majors, and possibly the MVP of the team before the injury problems. He is on a reasonable contract and out playing his contract value. Julian is probably the next in line, but IMO needs more time to develop in the minors.
  13. It was fairly well known at the time that Maeda had a questionable arm. That being said, the Twins got a little more than they expected and the Dodgers probably a little less than they hoped for. IMO the trade is fairly even so far.
  14. The pen looks to be a bit bare Thurs. 3 pitched on consecutive days so probably not available.
  15. Miranda, Larnach, Ryan, & Duran are a pretty good start to a solid young core. Now if Julian can pan out and AK can get right looks pretty good for the future.
  16. Good to see Taylor come thru tonight, maybe he read yesterdays article about Buxton at DH and it motivated him. I still HATE the ghost runner rule. Give Rocco credit for the way he has handled his pitchers so far. Now the lineup needs to start gelling a little more.
  17. True about pitching. However they could use the shuttle system if needed. I'm not advocating sending him down yet, just saying there is a way if needed. IMO AK will be in AAA for a while unless he really crushes.
  18. That would make sense if they could stretch out a few relievers to 2 inning guys.
  19. I don't understand playing Castro instead of Farmer. Why not put Gordon in left and Farmer at 2nd? Sure, neither one is tearing the cover off, but the potential is higher IMO.
  20. I just don't see how the players that got traded away would have found a place on our MLB roster. There are just too many guys rated ahead of them. As has been pointed out worse case is Mahle walking away and Twins get a high draft pick.
  21. I think OBP is still a very important stat. Give a few guys with high OBP and a couple with power to drive them in. The more they get on base, the better chance you have of scoring. After all, its mighty hard to win if you don't score!
  22. I would move Buxton to leadoff, move Larnach to 3, Miranda to 4. Drop Kep down to 7-9 somewhere.
