  1. I remember how Kepler did nothing special until he got to AA and then he exploded. Lets hope this is true for Miranda also.
  2. Why does it seem like the Complex Twins always lose?
  3. My wife has gone into morning for the loss of Cruz. She says she's still going to wear her Cruz jersey to Twins games.
  4. Story-lines for the 2nd half? 1. How many hits does Sano get to right? 2. What will Sano's walks to SO's look like after the All-Star break? 3. How many hits will Kepler get to left? 4. Will Polanco start hitting Doubles again?
  5. Wonderful analysis. What do you think of the players the Twins let go without offering them a contract, ala Eddie Rosario? Compare that to those we have signed the same way.
  6. I've been watching them since TV started showing the All-Star game. Its called a compulsion, or an obsession or something like that.
  7. hmmmmmm All college players. Do I see a strategy here?
  8. This is a well deserved addition to the All-Star game. (but we;re still not watching it, since they moved it from Atlanta).
  9. We gotta remember, any pick from here on was passed over 60+ times before we chose them. It is all about luck, the character of these players and the ability of our coaches to get them to the majors.
  10. I always figure that Twins high draft picks will make it to the majors... with Detroit.
  11. This seems like a fair and unbiased analysis of Twins deadline trades. We'll see soon, as the class of 2018 matures into the league. Good article.
  12. When we signed Donaldson we were paying for production. 1 1/2 seasons into the contract, Donaldson's value has declined. Why would any team give the Twins anything of significant value for him? Since the money is already spent, the Twins would probably get more value by playing Donaldson only when he is the best player at his position. Make him earn his playing time. Thome earned more playing time than he was expected to give. Cruz has proved to be worth every minute on the field and every dollar spent on him. Inste of thinking that we must play Donaldson because of his contract, or trade him to save some money, We should treat him as a player and a teammate and let his numbers determine his playing time.. As for "dumping" veterans to save money or gain prospects, we should only do this if we can make significant signings of some of our current players. Wouldn't you love to see Kiriloff, Arraez or Larnach signed to a long-term contract?
  13. I have to keep reminding myself that a pitchers terrible numbers are OK if the pitcher comes thru at the right times. Look at Jack Morris and others. Give him a fat lead and he'd fritter it away, but when he needed a crucial out, he'd find the right pitch. Berrios is that way and sometimes Maeda is too. This White Sox series is going to show what our staff is truly made of.
  14. The next month will be critical in the evaluation of FalVine, 1. If the club has a good July and gets into contention, what will they do? 2. If they have a bad July, what moves will they make? 3. If they play around .500, what will they do? We all have our prejudices and preferences. The decisions they make before the trade deadline could define them or condemn them. Whatever happens: WIN TWINS!
  15. Firstly. If the Twins take 3 of 4 from the Indians they will have a .500 record for June. A positive July will put them in the playoff picture, and they won't want to trade these vets. Secondly. The eye test says that Sano has become a pretty darn good First baseman. If Donaldson were to go, let Sano play 3rd. I bet he will do fine if he plays everyday.
  16. These comments are appropriate if we had a season that only lasted 3 months. Lets see what we have to say about things in mid-September.
  17. Reading those stathead statistics is eye-opening. Thanks for the informative article.
  18. I look forward to these weekly roundups. It seems like there are very few of the 2019 & 2020 draft picks still playing. With the late start this year, I have to keep reminding myself that these numbers are pretty meaningless with only about 6 weeks of the season played. Keep up the good work.
  19. In my opinion, a pitcher should NEVER throw a pitch he has less than perfect control of, when a man is on 3b. NEVER!
  20. Yay Rah Twins. We're driving up to Seattle to see them again, next week. I'm looking forward to it. Win Twins!!!
  21. Since the Twins don't have enough outfielders, he is playing thru the pain. Under normal circumstances the Twins would have been more protective of his wrist. Lets see what his stats look like at the end of the season. Probably they will be very good.
  22. Falvine is supposed to be excellent at pitcher development Its time for some pitchers to develop. .
  23. I don't care if they have reached 100 pitches in 6 innings. If they are pitching good, let them keep pitching.
  24. Please let Refsnyder stay hot all year. Please.
