  1. Myabe my good sense is gone, but it looks like Big Mike has regained his touch, since he returned. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he pitches well for the rest of the year.
  2. Come to think of it, Glen Perkins earned his share of headlines by complaining about the Twins and how they handled him, and that turned out OK.
  3. I was pleased to see Shumaker go, but I wouldn't mind if he came back and pitched well enough to be part of the rotation, or a reliable reliever. Wasn't it Corey Kluber who was sent back down to fix his problems? I don't expect Shumaker to react like Kluber, but it would be nice.
  4. Am I mistaken? Don't starting pitchers frequently see their innings numbers jump in their first or second year in the minors? 80 pitches to 120 pitches? something like that? If this is true, Ober pitching 130 innings this year shouldn't be putting undue strain on his arm, should it?
  5. Has anybody said it already? ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION!!!
  6. I remember how Kepler did nothing special until he got to AA and then he exploded. Lets hope this is true for Miranda also.
  7. Why does it seem like the Complex Twins always lose?
  8. My wife has gone into morning for the loss of Cruz. She says she's still going to wear her Cruz jersey to Twins games.
  9. Sign Byron Buxton now. or this winter or after the 22 season. Match any offer plus a little extra. Let Byron know how much we love him.
  10. Story-lines for the 2nd half? 1. How many hits does Sano get to right? 2. What will Sano's walks to SO's look like after the All-Star break? 3. How many hits will Kepler get to left? 4. Will Polanco start hitting Doubles again?
  11. Wonderful analysis. What do you think of the players the Twins let go without offering them a contract, ala Eddie Rosario? Compare that to those we have signed the same way.
  12. I've been watching them since TV started showing the All-Star game. Its called a compulsion, or an obsession or something like that.
  13. hmmmmmm All college players. Do I see a strategy here?
  14. This is a well deserved addition to the All-Star game. (but we;re still not watching it, since they moved it from Atlanta).
  15. We gotta remember, any pick from here on was passed over 60+ times before we chose them. It is all about luck, the character of these players and the ability of our coaches to get them to the majors.
  16. I always figure that Twins high draft picks will make it to the majors... with Detroit.
  17. We have 1/2 the season to play. I ain't givin up on nuthin! ?
  18. This seems like a fair and unbiased analysis of Twins deadline trades. We'll see soon, as the class of 2018 matures into the league. Good article.
  19. Maybe this Poll should be: Should we fire Falvine?
  20. When we signed Donaldson we were paying for production. 1 1/2 seasons into the contract, Donaldson's value has declined. Why would any team give the Twins anything of significant value for him? Since the money is already spent, the Twins would probably get more value by playing Donaldson only when he is the best player at his position. Make him earn his playing time. Thome earned more playing time than he was expected to give. Cruz has proved to be worth every minute on the field and every dollar spent on him. Inste of thinking that we must play Donaldson because of his contract, or trade him to save some money, We should treat him as a player and a teammate and let his numbers determine his playing time.. As for "dumping" veterans to save money or gain prospects, we should only do this if we can make significant signings of some of our current players. Wouldn't you love to see Kiriloff, Arraez or Larnach signed to a long-term contract?
  21. I have to keep reminding myself that a pitchers terrible numbers are OK if the pitcher comes thru at the right times. Look at Jack Morris and others. Give him a fat lead and he'd fritter it away, but when he needed a crucial out, he'd find the right pitch. Berrios is that way and sometimes Maeda is too. This White Sox series is going to show what our staff is truly made of.
  22. I want to win 3 of 4 from the Indians.
  23. The next month will be critical in the evaluation of FalVine, 1. If the club has a good July and gets into contention, what will they do? 2. If they have a bad July, what moves will they make? 3. If they play around .500, what will they do? We all have our prejudices and preferences. The decisions they make before the trade deadline could define them or condemn them. Whatever happens: WIN TWINS!
  24. A thought occurred to me. Kiriloff has been hurt badly & often. Perhaps that will define their careers.
  25. Eric Soderholm. Because I loved the scrappy way he played 3b.
