  1. All I know is that the Wolves are wonderful to watch right now.
  2. 17 million in salary for Reed, Duke & Rodney. I will probably hate Falvine forever if 2 of these don't turn out to be excellent in 2018.
  3. This quote was from another thread, but it bolsters the opinion that the website should be updated to include tables, and cutting and pasting from other sources "Here is the info.I had it in a spreadsheet so the formatting is horrible.I included 4 year contracts in the years there were not any 5+ year deals to FAs. Year Player Yrs Amt AAV Team Rev Rank NOTES: 2015 Lester 6 155 25.83 Cubs6 2015 Scherzer 7 210 30.00 Nationals8 2014 Tanaka 7 155 22.14 Yankees1 Does not include posting fee 2013 Greinke 6 147 24.50 Dodgers6"
  4. There is plenty of room for 2 Twins fansites. I read the articles that appeal to me. Sometimes its the subject that interests me. Sometimes it is the author. As long as they entertain me and stimulate my imagination, I am happy.
  5. We love the Twins. We want them to do well. Those consecutive years of bad ball, caused the Twins to lose the casual fan. Those unfortunate years undid much of the accumulated good will that the Twins had earned during the first decade of the 21st Century. It will probably take at least 2 or more good years, before the Twins fans will support the Twins, regardless of their record. This being said, I believe the Twins fans will come out stronger in the summer, regardless of their record (unless they really, really stink) because of the good will they earned in 2017. This will bring the Twins extra revenue and the money can be invested in their players. With good decisions and a little luck, the Twins could be contenders for the foreseeable future.
  6. Looking at these rookies gives me more hope for the rotation and bullpen in 18 and 19. We Twins fans should all be thankful and look forward to another interesting year of Twins Baseball.
  7. Baseball is a stats driven pastime. When I used to travel, I relied on Box Scores to tell me about Twins games. With your current Website, it is not possible to post a box score. No tables. No cutting and pasting without drastic realignment of the information. It is frustrating beyond belief to construct an argument without the use of stats, lists and tables. Change the website so it handles 2018 data and information. Make it easier for the authors to provide the information in a writer friendly (and reader friendly) way. Then you might find more writers.
  8. Falvine are Professional talent analyzers. We are worse than amateur evaluators. We hardly see any of them in action. Both analyzers and evaluators can screw up.
  9. Ugly win, but I'll take it.
  10. The youngsters got to learn. Thib got Butler and Gibson to rejoin him. They must respect him and understand them. The kids will learn.
  11. Do you really think the available free agents are worth the cost & the risk? Darvish has been injured. Arrieta was unreliable last year. Sure, Martinez or Santana would make a fine hitting addition, but the cost won't justify the improvement to the overall lineup. We still have the lingering promise of Vargas and a possible 300 hitter in Granite, not to mention the hitters in the minors. I also worry that Sano's injuries may force him to be a full time DH. We should use that free agent money to spend on giving Sano/Buxton extended contracts instead. Falvine seem to be making the best of a bad situation. As much as we love our Twins, players may look at us very differently. Just because we offer them the $$$, they still may not come. Lets just watch what happens and root for our Twins and hope for the best.
  12. Tyus does look good. I do like him better than Jeff Teague. However, I miss Ricky Rubio's long passes on the break.
  13. I spent a lot of the Clippers game watching Jordan. He does not seem to have a lot of "want to" when he is playing.
  14. I hate Jordan. It seems like his numbers are unimportant . The Clips play the same wether Jordan plays well or disappears.
  15. Today I am Thankful that I DVR'd the game. When the 4th qtr started I skipped, 5 min @ a time, and missed the gory details, while our lead shrinked. I am very Thankful that we held on.
  16. The one good thing that Falvine did this year was leave things alone. How many times have you seen a new boss come into your business and screw things up by making a bunch of changes before he understood why you did things the way you did. This winter and next year, they will know who they have and have a good idea of what they want to get to fix problems. Otherwise.... WIN TWINS ! WIN TWINS! WIN TWINS!
  17. If a team wins half its game, that equals 81 wins. If they win 82 games they are only 1 win over 50%. No matter what number of games is needed to get in the playoffs, the clubs will still be mediocre. Of course the Twins could get in the playoffs and beat the Yankees, They will be a celebrated club in Twins History. Its all a matter of perspective.
  18. Colon shouldn't be back. Hughes should be in the BP. Santiago should be gone. Gibson has to keep pitching well. That leaves Santana, Berrios and Mejia (perhaps) in front of Gonzalves. Lets hope that Falvine can find some pitchers good enough to keep Gonzales in AAA for the first months of the season.
  19. It doesn't make any difference where they get them, the Twins just needs wins. Twins games have become very watchable, because they can explode for 5 + runs in any any inning, regardless of the score. As far as I'm concerned, this has been a great season, regardless of the final score of their final game.
  20. Brothers from Moldova ? 2 players from the same town in the Netherlands ? Is this Berts fault ?
  21. I'm glad Vogelsong is gone before I had to learn how to spell and pronounce his name.
  22. I find myself smiling and thinking positively about 1 2 3 & 4. 5, however gives me pause. We saw nothing positive from Polanco at SS. For our pitchers sake, I hope Escobar is the starting SS and stays as the starting SS all year. Trade Polanco. demote Santana and pick up a journeyman utility infielder. For the pitchers sake, Please don'd play Polanco at SS.
  23. I found Twins Daily when the Star-Trib started linking to it. Now, I still read Twins Daily and rarely give the Star-Trib a look. Great work gang. I am looking forward to many more years of interesting comment on my favorite team. WIN TWINS!
  24. I lived close enough to Chicago to watch a lot of those Go-Go White Sox. They were terrific fielders but their hitting wasn't bad. Fox had a career OBP of .348 and Aparicio's was a positive .311. The thing I remember most about Nellie Fox was that he would never step back from an inside pitch. If it was headed for his head he would dive forward. Yes, he took a lot of HBP in his heyday.
